This is a long-established hotel, very close to Kyoto Station, the city's main transportation hub. The rooms are spacious with large windows that let in plenty of light. For breakfast, you have a choice of two restaurants: one is a rotating restaurant on a high floor with great views, offering a set menu. The other is a buffet on the first floor with a very rich selection. The downsides are the lack of laundry facilities, the bathroom isn't wet/dry separated, and the room lighting is a bit dim.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was well-furnished, modern and has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. We like that there is a communal bath in the hotel. The room feels cozy and has a spacious bathroom which was a pleasant addition. We will be recommending this hotel and will make a return in future! (P.S. There’s a curry rice shop 1-2mins walk away from the hotel towards Kyoto station, that is absolutely delicious and affordable and is on our mind till this day!)

Righa’s location is great! It’s nearby Nishiki Market and to Shijo Stn. The rooms are small and the windows have proper blackout.  There is no shelf space and so the only ledge to put anything is the lighted headrest section which is a little wider than a phone so expect to live out from the suitcase or have everything be able to loop attach around the bars near the front entrance. You can push the beds to touch the walls to have more space between 2 twin beds and fit a suitcase or 2 to double as a makeshift nightstand.

The room was small! But the lobby was incredibly grand, like a relic from the昭和 era, truly aristocratic! The check-in staff provided classic Japanese service – warm and polite!

It's a bit of a walk from the subway station, but if you're taking the bus, it's super convenient because the bus stop is right in front of the hotel!

My favorite feature was the radio by the bed in the room. The night I checked in, I tuned into a random station that was playing old Japanese songs, and every single one was so good. Listening to those Japanese songs while showering and packing made me feel like I'd traveled back to the昭和 period.

This is one the best hotels if not the best hotels in Tokyo for its money. If you need to be around Shinjuku, it’s terrific. Calm, quiet. Adorable.

The location is absolutely fantastic, right next to Shiba Park and incredibly close to Tokyo Tower – just a short walk away. The room, though small, was clean, comfortable, and very convenient for transport. The service was genuinely reliable, honest, and thoughtful. Especially impressive was how the hotel staff carefully kept and fully returned the three New Year's red envelopes I had left under the pillow. Even though it was only a few thousand RMB, it was a New Year's gift for my daughter and represented the ritual of the holiday, so losing it would have been incredibly upsetting. This level of reliability, honesty, and attentiveness is rarer and more valuable than any beautiful view. When I go to Tokyo again, this hotel will definitely be my first choice for peace of mind!

We recently stayed at ANCHORED by RIHGA Osaka Namba and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with both the service and housekeeping.

When we returned to our room, one of my Gucci slippers was severely damaged and the emblem on the other slipper had come off. The slippers were almost new and had only been worn indoors. We immediately reported this to the front desk. The staff member was visibly shocked, said this was not normal, and told us she would discuss it with the manager.

The next day, the attitude completely changed. The manager told us the housekeeping staff denied any involvement, and therefore no compensation or solution would be offered. We found this extremely disappointing, especially because there was barely any serious attempt to resolve the situation. This discussion also took place while our airport transfer was already waiting outside, which made the experience even more stressful and unprofessional. The manager handled the situation very poorly and dismissively. 

In addition, we experienced several housekeeping issues during our stay. On one day, housekeeping did not show up despite us requesting cleaning service. Upon arrival, there were also stains in the sink and dirt on the floor.

The hotel location is good, but unfortunately the way complaints are handled here felt very unprofessional and dismissive.

The hotel is super close to the subway station, right at the exit. The room was generally clean, and both comfort and quietness were good. It's a bit of a walk from the JR station, about 15 minutes. Breakfast was quite expensive, so I didn't eat at the hotel; there's a Matsuya across the street which was a good alternative.
