It was a mixed bag, really! The downside was that on our first day, we hit the jackpot with the annual maintenance. Power went out promptly at 11 AM, basically kicking us out of the hotel early. Even worse, that evening the shower water temperature was all over the place – freezing cold one moment, scalding hot the next. My back actually got red from the heat! Plus, the bathroom door wouldn't close properly. Might as well not have done any maintenance at all! The good news is the hotel handled it very promptly. After we complained, they immediately moved us to a new room, tested the water temperature beforehand, and even gave us complimentary access to the executive lounge. Their special 'Next Stop Thonglor' drink there is absolutely delicious, a must-try! As expected from a Japanese hotel, one detail really stuck with me: one day, I was walking past a room to get to the elevator and saw a pair of shoes outside the door. It turned out the housekeeping attendant was cleaning barefoot, actually kneeling on the floor to wipe! I was taken aback, and she noticed me at the same time. She immediately came out, put on her shoes, and bowed to greet me – I was surprised again! Apart from being a bit old and having some minor hardware issues, this hotel is genuinely faultless!

Let's try the newly opened Hotel Nikko Bangkok!

★ **Location:** Compared to the bustling department store area, it's relatively quiet here. There's a shuttle bus to BTS/MRT and One Bangkok.

★ **Hotel Facilities:** Features a brand new gym and swimming pool, both very clean and beautiful.

★ **Room Facilities:** Comes with free capsule coffee and a minibar, plus a box of small snacks. The bathroom has a wet/dry separation, a TOTO heated toilet, and bath salts for a relaxing soak – I really loved that. The toiletries are from Divana, a local spa and aromatherapy brand.

★ **Breakfast:** Extremely rich and varied, offering Thai, Japanese, and Chinese options, including sushi, miso soup, sashimi, freshly squeezed juices, ice cream, and a wide array of baked goods. The salt bread was the absolute best! My favorite! The noodle station also had many choices, like ramen, udon, stir-fried prawns with rice noodles, tom yum, etc.

**A few minor drawbacks:**
1. The tables at breakfast were too close together, making it inconvenient to move around. However, this seemed to have improved on the second day, with tables arranged more spaciously.
2. The stir-fried noodles I ordered at the noodle station took forever to arrive; I waited 30 minutes and had to ask the staff again. By then, I'd lost my appetite. I ordered a latte but received an Americano. While drinkable, I wished for more attention to detail.

★ **Service:** As soon as we got out of the car, someone came to open the door and help with luggage. The front desk staff spoke Chinese, making basic communication easy. They patiently explained the check-in procedures. We arrived at noon, and they allowed us to check in early. When we returned to the room around 9 PM, we found turn-down service had been completed, with a bottle of warm water and delicious mango soft candies on the bedside table.

**Other regrets/issues:**
1. My Ctrip booking mentioned an upgrade, but judging by the room type, it didn't seem like an actual upgrade (perhaps it was just a higher floor? Unsure).
2. At 7:30 AM, the room suddenly lost power – the air conditioning and lights stopped working, with only a few emergency lights remaining. I was quite uneasy, thinking something serious had happened, but when I opened the door, the hallway lights were on. After about ten minutes, the air conditioning came back on, but the lights still wouldn't work. I had to call staff to fix it. It really disrupted my rest.

**Summary:** Despite some minor flaws, the many positives outweigh them. I would definitely stay here again.

Whenever I fly into Kansai Airport, I always choose this hotel for an overnight stay. It's right in Terminal 1, which is incredibly convenient for early morning flights. The breakfast spread is generous, and the rooms are very comfortable. Many airline crew members also stay here.

First, about the location: it is exceptionally convenient, right in the heart of the Shinsaibashi commercial district. All major department stores are just a stone's throw away, and Namba is about a 15-minute walk. Even the Superior Twin Room felt quite small to me. While it's advertised as 24 to 27 square meters, it realistically feels more like 20. The service aspect is quite interesting: the housekeeping staff are of Indian descent, the bell staff in the lobby are from Myanmar and Vietnam, and the front desk agents are locals. We didn't request full room cleaning during our stay, just daily replenishment of amenities. The absolute highlight is the hotel's breakfast. We stayed for 6 days and 5 nights, and tried both the Western restaurant on the 2nd floor and the Japanese restaurant on the 3rd floor. At first glance, the selection doesn't look huge, but everything is of very high quality. The service in the restaurants is also excellent, and the desserts, in particular, are well worth savoring. Perhaps the delicious pastries alone will bring us back for another stay next time.
