I booked this hotel because my company is nearby and it's not far from the hospital, as I was bringing my parents for a medical appointment.

The hotel entrance is a bit small and easy to miss. It's about a 10-minute walk from Xujiahui subway station, Exit 1. It's right next to Nanyang 1931, making dining and shopping convenient. The lobby is quite spacious and usually not crowded. The family room felt a bit cramped for three adults, but that's understandable for a prime location in the city center where space is at a premium.

Breakfast was originally for two, but the hotel kindly provided an extra portion for free. There weren't many people eating breakfast, so there was no queue, and the variety was decent. Their heated towel rail (shown in the fourth picture) was quite useful for drying clothes and towels. The staff were very friendly, and housekeeping and restocking were prompt. It's a good option for a two or three-night stay for business trips or family vacations, and you can also explore the Xujiahui area.

This time I went to Shanghai for the F1 race (a collision of speed and passion), and a friend highly recommended this place. It was my first time booking, and the duty manager upgraded my room for free (big thumbs up👍)! I had a fantastic view of the Huangpu River at night (an absolutely stunning photo op), it was beautiful. The hotel facilities are complete, the environment is great, and the service attitude is excellent (both hardware and software are top-notch). The location is superb; just behind the hotel is Binjiang Park (a leisurely lifestyle), and you can easily grab a shared bike to explore sights like the Bund and Lujiazui – Shanghai's 'three-piece suit': the 'egg beater' (Shanghai Tower), 'syringe' (Jin Mao Tower), and 'bottle opener' (Shanghai World Financial Center). The Oriental Pearl TV Tower is also fully visible!

I feel scammed. I fell for the Ctrip 5-diamond rating, paying 5-star hotel prices for what felt like a budget hotel. The main entrance to the lobby is ridiculously small; two people can't walk in side-by-side, you have to go in single file. The guest room had a tiny 1-2 square meter rug on the laminate flooring. The room itself was small, but the shower stall was huge – big enough for four people to shower at once, though it only had one showerhead. As for the 298 RMB breakfast, you can imagine the standard: just a few types of fruit and bread, only plain congee, and no labels for the dishes. I've also never seen such poor-quality scallions. It's worse than a 98 RMB breakfast at other 5-star hotels. The entire hotel lacks any service awareness. From facilities to service, the hotel's logic feels incredibly petty. At first, I thought it was some unprofessional private hotel, but then I realized it was part of Huazhu Group, and it all made sense. Huazhu, which started with budget hotels, operates with a 'what's convenient for us' mentality, unlike other 5-star hotels that prioritize 'what's convenient for the guest.' If Huazhu doesn't change this logic, they'll never truly be a 5-star hotel. This is the first time I've written so much as a Ctrip member of over twenty years.

The hotel is conveniently located right by Zhouqiao Old Street, very easy to find. Across the road are Huilongtan Park and Jiading Confucius Temple, and it's just a few minutes' walk to Jiading Museum and Qiuxia Garden. We had breakfast and then spent the morning exploring the free attractions nearby – the location is truly excellent.

Upon check-in, we received a complimentary room upgrade. The room was new and spacious, and the bathroom was particularly roomy. It would have been perfect if there was a bathtub by the window! When we checked out, we were even given coffee as a farewell gift. A big thank you to the handsome Xiao Shao!

The hotel has a courtyard and a long corridor, which I believe are preserved from the original old building. There's also a citron tree in the courtyard with many fruits. In the morning, I saw a pile of what looked like fallen fruits in the restaurant.

The hotel's location is excellent, right in Taikoo Li. The room layout is good, and the service is great. However, the elevators can be a bit slow. On the positive side, the breakfast was a pleasant surprise! They offer a rich selection of both Chinese and Western dishes, and the freshly made Dan Dan noodles and beef rice noodles were delicious. It's definitely much better than other hotels under the Huazhu brand.

My three-night stay was an incredibly satisfying experience.

The front desk service was professional and efficient: check-in was quick, the staff were friendly and smiling, and they proactively upgraded me to a quiet room on a higher floor, while also providing a detailed overview of the hotel facilities.

The room itself was comfortable and spotless: it was spacious and bright, the mattress was perfectly firm yet soft, the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the water pressure was excellent. The mini-bar was restocked daily, and the soundproofing was outstanding, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep.

Breakfast exceeded all expectations: the variety was astounding, ranging from Chinese dim sum and a live noodle station to Western pastries and baked goods. I especially recommend the local specialty, freshly pan-fried potstickers; I was awakened by their delicious aroma every morning.

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, and it offers exceptional value for money. My only suggestion would be to perhaps add more fresh fruit options. Overall, it far surpassed my expectations and will be my top choice for future stays.

Repeat trip with JOYA Hotel, great location, great services. Great hospitality and nice staff especially Ms. 文吉. Requested late check out also happily provided for us. Robot for delivered of take away food and package. 
Will choose to stay JOYA chain hotel again next time visit to China.
