Shanghai Business Trips | Xiyue Lujiazui is my go-to business hotel ✨

Having traveled to Shanghai for business for years, my hotel preferences have really solidified. I absolutely detest overly flashy decor and excessive sensory clutter 🙅🏻‍♂️. I only like spaces with solid, muted tones, minimalist cleanliness, and bright, transparent lighting. This time, for my business trip to Lujiazui, I chose Xiyue, and my stay was simply perfect!

🏨 [Location | A must-have for business travelers]
Working entirely in Lujiazui, the location is truly unbeatable. I'm not bothered by checking off popular spots, but the 'blue hour' by the window in my room was incredibly therapeutic 🌌. No need to deliberately find a good photo spot; just sitting there and relaxing in the evening was lovely.

The value for money is excellent, costing 1,100 RMB per night. In the heart of Lujiazui, this hotel's amenities truly outclass others in its price range.

🍃 [Ambiance | Chinese minimalist, clean, and spacious]
The overall style is new Chinese minimalist, with sophisticated and elegant color schemes. Both the public areas and guest rooms are new, tidy, and spacious. There are no superfluous decorations, and the overall atmosphere is quiet and calming, making it particularly suitable for business trips, relaxation, and quiet work.

🛁 [Hardware | High-spec amenities with attention to detail]
All essential amenities are top-notch; no need to compromise:
▪️ Smart heated, fully automatic toilet, providing a fantastic experience.
▪️ Dyson hairdryer as standard, no need to bring your own.
▪️ Soft and thick bedding on the large bed ensures a stable and comfortable sleep.
▪️ Food delivery robot brings orders directly to the room, private and convenient.

🍴 [Facilities | No shortcomings for dining and transportation]
The hotel has a Xin Rong Ji restaurant on the 25th floor, so no need to venture out for meals. Daily transportation is super convenient; taxis are usually around 10 RMB. It's a 5-minute walk to the riverside promenade 🌬️. There are plenty of cafes downstairs, perfect for an evening stroll or morning run. You can relax and unwind even while on business.

💁🏻‍♂️ [Service | Beyond expectations, attentive and thoughtful]
The service throughout was gentle and appropriate, neither forced nor perfunctory. We were also treated to an exclusive afternoon tea on the 26th floor 🍰. The dessert selection was exquisite and never disappoints. Sitting by the window to chat and take photos during downtime made for some lovely, high-quality shots.

Absolutely no complaints; this is definitely a hidden gem of a business hotel in Lujiazui. It has now been added to my regular list for Shanghai business trips. I'll be booking this one again next time! ✅

Pros: The hotel is exceptionally clean and the rooms are very comfortable. Great amenities and good service overall, making it a nice choice for families. There is also a small mall right beside the hotel, which is convenient for quick shopping or meals.
Cons: The location is quiet with not much spotlight or things to do nearby. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Metro—fine for younger travelers, but not recommended for senior citizens or young children (it's better to call a DiDi instead). Additionally, daily room cleaning details could be improved (like tidying up used cups), there is no self-service dobi (laundry is chargeable), and no free late-night supper/porridge is provided.

The cleaning staff were very friendly and the front desk was very helpful. The room was super clean and well-equipped, and the soundproofing was excellent. Highly recommend! The breakfast selection was also quite rich, with both Western and Chinese options to choose from, or you could have it delivered to your room. The hotel's location is fantastic, with many delicious Japanese restaurants in the basement of Takashimaya, right next to a Japanese supermarket.

The hotel is conveniently located right by Zhouqiao Old Street, very easy to find. Across the road are Huilongtan Park and Jiading Confucius Temple, and it's just a few minutes' walk to Jiading Museum and Qiuxia Garden. We had breakfast and then spent the morning exploring the free attractions nearby – the location is truly excellent.

Upon check-in, we received a complimentary room upgrade. The room was new and spacious, and the bathroom was particularly roomy. It would have been perfect if there was a bathtub by the window! When we checked out, we were even given coffee as a farewell gift. A big thank you to the handsome Xiao Shao!

The hotel has a courtyard and a long corridor, which I believe are preserved from the original old building. There's also a citron tree in the courtyard with many fruits. In the morning, I saw a pile of what looked like fallen fruits in the restaurant.

Stayed one night at The Temple House by Swire, bringing my son to Chengdu, and the experience exceeded all expectations. The location is absolutely unbeatable – stepping out puts you right into Taikoo Li and IFS. Shopping and visiting Daci Temple were all within walking distance, which made traveling with a child so much easier and stress-free. The breakfast was a real standout; served from 7 AM until 1 PM, it offered a huge variety, including local specialties like Dandan noodles and egg pancakes. My son absolutely loved it and I didn't have to rush him to wake up early at all. The late-night snack service was also a thoughtful touch, with hot porridge, steamed dim sum, and fruit available after 9 PM – perfect for a light bite after a long day of exploring. The service was very attentive overall. I would definitely come back again.

My stay at the Chengdu Hi-tech Xiyue Hotel during the May Day holiday was absolutely perfect. The hotel is in a great location, making it super convenient for getting around, and the environment is clean and quiet. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and efficient, handling check-in and check-out quickly. The room was tidy and bright, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the toiletries were well-stocked. There was plenty of hot water with good water pressure too. Housekeeping was meticulous and thorough, and the cleaning staff were very considerate. The breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, and overall, it was excellent value for money. The service was attentive and thoughtful, making my stay comfortable and hassle-free. I was very satisfied with my holiday stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. I'll choose it again next time.

I accidentally left my pajamas in the room when checking out, and I contacted the hotel just to try my luck. To my surprise, the front desk responded quickly and arranged for SF Express cash-on-delivery. A special thanks to the housekeeping department for packaging it so carefully. This kind of attitude, where they treat a guest's small matter with such importance, makes me want to stay here again next time I'm in Hangzhou.
