We do not refund for weather, and expect our guests to be prepared to encounter snow during this time. Our location is well maintained and lower elevation (compared to other mountain towns) and is a great option for drivers. We do plow for 4+ inches, but we cannot guarantee it is immediate since it depends on the plow driver's schedule. If we do get a snow storm, you will need to be more self-sufficient and we provide shovels and basic winter supplies. Please consider trip insurance if you are not comfortable with snow. However, we believe this is the most beautiful time of the year and a great time to visit. WILDLIFE: Our area is full of creatures big and small! It is very possible to encounter deer, foxes, and birds. More elusive mountain lions, bears, elk, and moose are in the area as well. Please be cautious, do not feed wildlife, and be bear aware! No coolers outside, food and drinks left outside overnight, or unlocked cars with food in them. NEIGHBORHOOD: We are located in a very small community far off the beaten path. There is plenty of privacy to be had, but we do have neighbors and adhere to a quiet hours policy. The drive to the house is about 20 minutes off of the highway, with windy breathtaking views of a mountain valley and local ranches. We are not close to grocery stores and recommend stopping in Conifer on the way in. Our limited restaurants can be seasonal and suggest calling ahead. Not suitable for infants, unless cleared with the doctor that 9,000ft elevation is safe.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 10:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 3-17.9000ft elevation, contact child's doctor.About customRules:4WD/AWD highly suggested for October-April..No smoking or open fires inside or outside. For everyone’s safety, please never leave food, coolers, or trash outside, and be sure the bear-proof trash cans are fully closed and latched after use. This is essential to avoid attracting wildlife to the property.Weather & Access: Winter weather can be unpredictable in the mountains. We recommend 4WD or AWD vehicles between late fall and early spring. Our driveway is maintained, but snowy conditions can occur quickly.Outdoor Amenities: The hot tub and sauna are professionally maintained for your comfort. Usage instructions will be sent before your stay. Highway 285 is nearby and can be heard from the house at times, especially when large trucks pass by. Most guests find it manageable, but we like to set honest expectations.Remote Feel, Modern Comforts: Though you’ll feel immersed in nature, you’ll have strong Wi-Fi, good cell signal, and all the comforts of home.About pets:Pets allowed: dogs and cats less than 50 lbs per pet (limit one pet total).About checkOut:Check out before 10:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About checkIn:Check in after 4:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About minBookingAge:Minimum age to rent: 20.About events:No events allowed.
