The room was clean and serviceable, although a little tired and in need of some upgrading, however, an iron and board were available in the wardrobe. We arrived back late after a concert, however, the bar was closed. The young man on night duty though was extremely helpful and asked what we would like and it was brought through to us where we sat in the reception area. I’d definitely go back as we got the room for a ridiculously cheap price."

"Well where do i start?!!! My husband & myself arrived on Monday 8th June we booked till the Friday 12th June as it was my birthday on the 9th & my husband treated me for my birthday, he had also booked the meal deal for the duration of our time there , Tuesday morning came & no hot water, so we went to reception to see what was going on, to be told that the fitter had been called & that it would be fixed ASAP, so we went out as it was my birthday to Blackpool zoo & the weather was hot, so we wanted a nice hot shower when we got back before going down for tea, shock no hot water. So down my husband went again to reception to be told that someone was coming out to look at it, so we had no hot water to actually have a wash, got up Wednesday morning tried the hot water tap still no hot water, so down we went for breakfast & stopped at reception to ask yet again when will we have hot water. You could see by the staff faces that they didn't want to know, so they said hopefully the part arrives before 7pm & that the fitter could pick it up, & he would be there to fix it that day, still couldn't have a shower & my hair needed washing so was really getting annoyed by the lack of support or customer care we were receiving from the reception team, it was as if the question was hard or they couldnt be bothered with all the fuss, my husband had to boil 6 kettles so i could wash my hair which is ridiculous,we weren't the only ones who were complaining, it is a necessity & a right for everyone in the hotel to have hot water & the 3rd day it was really grinding me as we couldnt have a shower & freshen up so down to reception my husband goes again to be told its being fixed. & was told to ring customer relations & was handed & slip with the number on! So i rang it as the reception told me to, to be told there was nothing they could do & they can only help once we had checked out today 12th June then guest relations said to ask at reception, so was fobbed off yet again , So no showers or hot water for 3 days. Then on the Thursday we went out for half a day came back through reception. Not one of them behind reception told us that it was back on. I suffer with fibromyalgia & osteoarthritis & so I rely on hot showers, so I really struggled throughout the week without hot water, this really but a dampener on my birthday time away, we paid over £500 for my birthday time away & to be honest we were glad to get home, there were other things that weren't very good but we couldn't be bothered to talk to them on reception about it, as we were at a brick wall with everything we talked about, we asked for fresh towels on the Tuesday assuming that they would take away the used towels but no they piled up in the bathroom, we also asked for the bin to be emptied but no not done, when you pay for a room & service you at least expect to have hot water!!!!! We took the card keys to reception this morning & I asked do i put them in the perspex box? To just get the answer "yes"

"I am very disappointed with the hotel and would not recommend sadly . The room had a very foul sewer smell, The room was absolutely filthy .The carpet was stained in lots of places ,looked like somebody had been sick all knee and I had to make sure shoes were on at all times . The door had holes in , the shower also had holes surrounding it . The room had a TV on the wall that did not work ! The window was full of mould and seagull poop . The window was covered in birds all night . Lots of noise , walls paper thin , heard every conversation in the room next door . Bed was also pressed against a filthy wall full of cobwebs . Thank god we were only staying one night . I had £50 deposit taken on arrival incase of room damage . I took lots of photos on arrival of previous damages and told the lady on reception. Unbelievable really . We will not be returning customers . In need of a massive re vamp and clean !!! I should really be getting my money back ."

"Cannot fault this hotel, 10/10! The only fault is with the booking with 'trip' as i needed to cancel due to an emergency and reschedule and 'trip' didn't allow this after multiple attempts. Would have even been happy with a credit note to use later but no flexibility, even with sufficient notice. Very disappointed. It's unlikely I will be using trip for my bookings again after this experience."

"Stayed at the Gatsby hotel the night of the 26th july 2026 for a weekend away with the wife . We arrived at the hotel to check in and where met by the lovely julie who could not do enough to make the experience any easier . We were then shown to the room and where on the top floor room number 8 .What can you say about the room clean spotless and beautiful decorated by julie husband Craig . The hotel is in an ideal location and easily within range off town center using the tram network . The breakfast at the hotel was nothing short off excellent made by craig . Over all a great experience and will be returning very shortly again . 10 out of 10 from us to both the hosts David and Michelle x"

"My 3rd stay at this lovely guest house. Stayed in rooms 8, 7 and on this occasion room 2. All rooms are Impeccably clean and with Elaine's fantastic designer inspired features. Breakfast is the best full English I have ever had and cooked to perfection. Rooms all have wifi and USB sockets and smart tvs. My room had a fan which was needed in the hot July weather. Excellent value for money. Great location with a tram stop at the end of the road and south pier and the pleasure beach just a short stroll away. Steve and Elaine are the best hosts and I will be looking to book my 4th visit very soon 😊"

"It was £10 cash a night to park your car they don’t tell you until you get there and there is only room for a few cars the room was dirty the toilet seat was dirty and the shower was bad , the double glazed windows had gone and you couldn’t see out of them properly there was no hand soap so take your own and the kettle needed updating as it was a funny colour and tiny, the veiw was the best bit"

"Hotel staff, facilities, food, swimming pools and entertainment were brilliant. Everything was presented really nicely in the foyer/reception area. The bedroom and carpets were really tired, however, and need a revamp to match the quality hotel foyer. We found the mattresses uncomfortably soft and didn't sleep well, so assume these were old too. A really mixed experience, but on balance the positive outweighed the negatives. The staff could not have been more accommodating or helpful. Highly recommend getting tram passes on app. before you arrive as need proof of children's DOB from passport or birth certificate. The tram stop is really conveniently opposite the hotel. Excellent reliable service :-)"
Norbreck Castle Hotel Blackpool
"Norbreck Castle is okay but has the potential to be so much more. On the outside it looks different to those in the area but inside, it doesn't stand out amongst the others. Walking along the corridor to get to our room, I had wondered what we had let ourselves in for. The floor was full of litter and toilet rolls left outside rooms. The room itself was okay, relatively clean, however it did whistle when you open the window! The windows weren't very clean and the soap dispenser pumped out sludge and dirty water. It was reported to the reception desk, but in the 2 days we were there, it wasn't cleaned or replaced. We only chose to eat there for breakfast. The cooked food was fine, the 'continental' option was disappointing. The staff were friendly. The location isn't too bad and there's a tram stop at the front which is helpful for getting around to visit the sites. Compared to hotels abroad for the same price range, it's well below standard. Would I visit again? Yes, but it wouldn't be my first choice."

"I stayed at Hotel Santa Maria for 2 nights. Overall, the hotel has a great location, and the staff were friendly. I also appreciated the other facilities, which were very good. However, I was disappointed that housekeeping did not clean our room at all during our 2-night stay. In addition, the Wi-Fi connection in our room was very poor and unreliable, making it difficult to use the internet. Thank you for your hospitality. Despite these issues, we enjoyed the other facilities and hope these areas can be improved for future guests."

"Clean, tidy, and COMPACT accommodation. Used as a base going out during the day and eating breakfast and evening meals at local venues. The location was excellent for walking to the Blackpool Tower and along the promenade. The onsite staff were available, cheerful, and helpful. Amenities were adequate. The en-suite included a GOOD shower, but it was NOT spacious. The fridge in the room was very useful for fruit etc. Kettle in the room for tea or coffee. Iron and ironing board available on the premises. Note that parking, one space at the side of the property, was an extra charge per night, otherwise parking on the street, or at locally managed car parks at various rates."
