Willows, Blackburn by Marston's Inn ★★★★
"The TV has no remote control. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Recommended"
Hampton by Hilton Blackburn ★★★
"The hygiene is a bit poor. There are mold spots in the bathroom, and the table wasn’t properly cleaned—it had some sticky residue on it, though I’m not sure what it was. However, the staff had a good attitude."
Hotel Rafay ★★★
"Firstly anyone who is thinking of stopping here or has clicked on this hotel to look BACK UP…. I stop in hotels week in week out with work for years and hands down this has been the worst one yet. I was there was on site parking when I got there the hotel has a car park with 3 spots and believe it or not when I got there they were full and with it being in the city centre parking cost a nice chunk on top of the price. Then we finally get to reception with a guy who I can only assume was there to drive customers away, because not only could he hear or speak any English.. I had to repeat my self easily 50 times just to tell him my name….the check in took around 45 mins to do……:after 30 mins and he is what I thought was a game of Pictionary with me I finally worked out he wanted £100 security deposit which wasn’t on the website and side we prefer card but will take 7 days to return, well obviouslly I gave them cash because I would have never seen it again otherwise… When I got to my room I asked for twin beds. Shock it was a double and when I went back to tell/sign that we want twins he said they don’t do twins so again that was fun to hear and I had to pay for another room and shock another security deposit which again took around 50mins. I had a room with a ceiling 4 meters high. The room was freezing when I got in as they turn the heater off it, but cos of how high the ceilings were it only took 4 hours to start getting a little warm in there so that wasn’t to bad. Got warm just before I fall asleep. Says it has a pool well all I could see was a bath for rats well I assume that’s what it was as there were 2 in there doing lengths There is no vending machines or anything like that so if you wanted a snack you had to walk into town to get something but that’s not a big deal….. And again this is my fault as I should have left after the first night but we were here for 2 and I waited by the window for a car spot, finally one became free so I managed to get the van in the car park…. once again another rubbish freezing night in a bed that again I can only assume was rocks for a mattress……. But to top it off my van and 2 cars got broke into. You have to walk past reception which is glass walls to get to the car park. And the rection walll in in the car park… but apperently this receptionist who was clearly still learning speaking English a night school didn’t see a van being drilled and 2 cars windows smashed, I can’t prove anything but if I had my last £20 in my pocket I would have been putting on at the bookies that he was involved somehow…. SO DO NOT GO HERE. WORST HOTEL IN THE WORLD. RATS, THIEFS, AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ROOMS EVER…. IF PEOPLE STOP GAMVLING AND THINKING ITS LIKE THE PHOTOS THEY SHOW THIS PLACE WILL BE CLOSED WITHIN THE MONTH… ask for recent photos"
Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa ★★★★
"This hotel has very old features but inside the rooms are big spacious and warm The bed although a double was twin beds pushed together which is very annoying as you slide into The middle of the bed and it’s uncomfy. The receptionist was extremely unhelpful and had no empathy I had to walk back and forth from my room 3 times to sort out an issue and then the spa was another issue which finally got resolved So basically it’s a lovely hotel but the staff need to be retrained or understand customers better and the duty manager who was on duty too."
The Millstone, Mellor ★★★★★
Premier Inn Blackburn Town Centre ★★★
"Nice and easy to get to from the train station and centrally located for easy onward travel. Katy was really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Recommended."
The Fernhurst by Greene King Inns ★★★
"Decent place to stay"
Best Western Hotel 99 ★★★
"Whoever is reading this, please don’t stay here. You might get lucky and have an okay experience, but this place is like a ticking time bomb - you never know when it will go wrong. My family had one of the worst experiences ever a while ago. The staff showed no respect for their privacy, added hidden charges, and were extremely rude. They even demanded details about their personal itinerary and acted aggressively throughout the stay. It was a nightmare. Keep in mind: Best Western hotels are individually owned, so if something goes wrong, there’s no real authority to hold them accountable. We tried escalating the issue to Best Western headquarters; while they apologised, they admitted they had no control over this branch (I attached their reply below). All you can do is complain to the so-called “management team,” but they are the same people sitting at the reception - utterly unprofessional. Be very careful before booking."
The Avenue Hotel ★★★
"Stayed overnight and had a lovely stay from beginning to end. The hotel is modern and lovely and clean. The room was spacious and the bed really comfortable. The bathroom was spotlessly clean. We had the continental breakfast, this was included in room rate. Hot breakfast is £10.95 pp. Free parking."
