The renovations that have been done to restore this historic landmark are spectacular. Everything is modern while retaining the 100 year old charm of the hotel. If you have reason to stop over between Abilene and Odessa, I'd always recommend a night at the Hotel Settles. ....... There's absolutely nothing to do in Big Spring, so you can relax."

"We chose this hotel because of the close proximity of the interstate and the fact that there was an outdoor pool in the hot west Texas summer. The pool looked as though it was a sewer drop for all of Big Spring’s residents. I was told by the condescending and rude front desk personnel that the pool was “under maintenance”. I don’t believe it has been maintained since the Reagan administration. It was nasty, ya’ll!"
