"For a birthday treat we spent the weekend at Belmont and used it as our base to wine and dine our way through Beechworth. Belmont was the perfect spot to rest and recover after a great pub meal at Tanswells Hotel, pizza and some craft beers at Bridge Road Brewers, and the highlight of the weekend - the degustation dinner at Provenance Restaurant. The comfy bed and big bath at Belmont felt like the perfect luxury space to recharge, ready for another meal. Thank you for a great stay!"

The plantings around the cabins make for a serene calm and the cabins are comfortable, clean, well resourced and have a warm feel. The owners were kind and helpful. "This is a very comfortable hotel situated in beautiful parkland. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I liked the shower with its large diameter shower head that makes for a good shower. What spoilt my stay was the occupants in the room next to mine returned late at night and had their TV at such a loud volume that it was like being in a cinema. The walls between the rooms have no sound proofing."

"Per the photos, superbly renovated and fully stocked. Very short walk to the middle of town, but in a very quiet street. Perfect base for one or two couples. Rooms are enormous, and the individual bathrooms even larger (Almost comically so, but did appreciate watching the afternoon news from the bath). The little things like bedside chocolates and port show the owners have thought of everything."

"As we drove in we were impressed by the manicured gardens and outside seating area, unfortunately its winter and the pool wasn't open but looked like it would be a great facility. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean, cosy and very comfortable. The electric blankets were lovely coming in from a cold evening and heaps of water pressure in the shower. We had a twin room as my friend and I went to Brown Brothers for the long lunch. (Which was an amazing birthday experience) I highly recommend the Beechworth Motor Inn!!"

"Made a last minute booking for days. Cottage was fantastic - very spacious with a wide verandah to sit on and enjoy the warm evenings. The cottages are clean and equiped very thoughtfully - from the provision of DVDs to mossie repelling candles. Kitchen is very functional and there is a great BBQ. Bed was very comfortable and was dressed in nice linen. Bathroom and spa bath excellent and a fully equiped laundry. The cottages are set within beautiful gardens which ensures a quiet environment and privacy."

"The location cannot be beaten - centrally located so you can walk to all of the cafes, restaurants and historical sites. The building is lovely as is the period furniture (but the porcelain dolls and trinkets etc are a bit much for my taste). The outdoor pool area is very inviting and peaceful. The room was spotless, the bed very comfortable and the breakfast delicious and plentiful. Heidi was very personable but Jim gave the impression that he would prefer to be elsewhere. He was quite officious and on check in we felt like we had entered at boarding school under the gaze of nuns. The maintenance department is not on top of its game. Lots of flaky varnish and patches on the draughty windows letting in a blast of cold. Disappointingly the spa was out of action during our stay. For $350 a night, we expected more."
