Barnsley Resort

"We visited the Barnsley with my son, his wife and their infant son. I have to say that the resort is underwhelming. It is advertised as an exclusive luxury resort but it’s below the standard of other luxury resorts that we’ve vacationed in. The value for the money is not there. Pros: The grounds are beautiful. There are multiple activities for families with young kids. It seemed ideal for a wedding weekend. Service at the restaurant was professional to some degree. Con:s: There’s much to be desired with housecleaning. Our rooms were not cleaned at all while we were there. The cottage where my son and his family stayed was dusty and the bathroom floors didn’t seem clean. The worst was that they found a roach hovering by the sink on their last night. They had to quickly pack and cover all their suitcases to make sure they don’t take any of these bugs home with them. There were only 2 restaurants while we were there, with one serving food buffet-style. The food was so-so, nothing special with the menu or the presentation of the food. Overall, the resort has potential. Management has their work cut out for them to make the resort match its description as advertised."

"To describe the crazy events that led us to Sage Cottage will waste too many characters, but let's just say it was meant to be. Karin made us feel like long-lost relatives, greeted us with incredidlbe warmth and proceded to meet our every need with energy, humor and charm. Our rooms (we were four) were gorgeous, clean, welcoming and big! The yummy breakfast, the property, the location, the warm (yep) chocolate chip cookies, the gorgeous linens. Reserve and congratulate yourself, you will simply love this place!"

"It was alright. The room could have been a but cleaner. I found a couple little bugs in the room, alive and moving. The shower faucet was loose , and leaked a little. The toilet had trouble flushing and going down. The TV didnt work. Not sure if something wasn't hooked up right or what , the pull out couch had a stained up all over mattress ,"

"One of the best bed-and-breakfast we have stayed at. Larry and Doris are delightful. The house was charming and spacious. The bed super comfortable with feather pillows. Breakfast was truly amazing! A sweet bread, fruit, biscuits and gravy, eggs and bacon and sausage. we cannot wait to go back."

"Stayed for two nights. The cleanliness was very poor. There were also small mice found in the room. It was next to the road and there were also big trucks making noise at night. I would not choose this hotel again. There are gas stations and stores such as Pizza Hut nearby, which serve as transfer points for drivers."
