"Well located in the city center. Very attentive staff. Everything is clean and very hygienic. I only have one complaint: the showers in the bathrooms are very small and have a curtain that makes it very uncomfortable to take a shower. They need to be changed, as the floor also gets full of water."

"Casa de Santa Comba is absolutely lush. The staff are very relaxed and flexible, having to arrive late was no problem, and they were very accommodating of us at breakfast as were vegetarian and there aren’t many vegetarians in Portugal! They were also very accommodating when we requested a fridge for our wine. The building and surrounding estate is beautiful, with lots of animals around – geese, horses, dogs, swallows, fish in the ponds – and lots of lemon trees bursting with fruit and beautiful flower bushes everywhere. A dreamy place, would love to stay here again. Will miss the bright morning song of the canary in their office which you can hear from the breakfast room!"

"We only stayed here for 2 nights as part of a walking tour. The house is beautiful and very thoughtfully restored. It is situated high up on the hill so affords lovely views across the valley and the viaduct. The food, both breakfast and dinner on both days was excellent and so nicely presented. We were given a packed lunch before departing, which was packaged in a lovely cloth drawstring bag. As this was early in the season, the pool was not ready. There was very little outdoor seating, but I’m sure there will be more for the summer season."

"We stayed here when we did the Camino Portuguese, and this place was smacked along the route! The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was wonderful to prepare us for the continuation of our journey. As this is a small town, food options were not plenty, but we did managed to find a nice place for dinner before we retire for the night."

"This is a disaster, we booked a room and the hotel, a woman in particular, refused us access as soon as she got our IDs. She spoke to us very rudely. We ended up without a reservation with our children, knowing that we had already paid. We don't understand. This hotel is a scam. Avoid it."
