This hotel has a beautiful entrance to the property, clean & nice lobby area with a relaxing back patio area to enjoy. The staff is exceptionally polite and courteous but unfortunately the rooms are in need of repair and not what you would expect from a Marriott brand hotel. During our 2 nights stay we had some issues. Upon check in (which was easy and fast) and entering our room we noticed a few things right away. The bathroom was not very clean (hair from previous guest all over the place), furniture doors do not close, shower faucet loose, toilet flushed so loud it sounded like a jet, toilet paper holder about to fall off, sink would not drain, etc. We cleaned the bathroom and not having the energy that evening to deal with sink, we just brushed our teeth in the tub and called it a night. The next morning, we brought our issues to the front desk receptionist. They assured us that she would have maintenance look at the sink as well provide maid service to the room. Upon our return at around 2:00 that day, we came back to a room that had not been cleaned nor a working sink. We went back down to the receptionist and she informed us the sink had not been fixed as they did not have a maintenance person on duty. She was very polite and offered to switch rooms which we did. Upon entering the 2nd room of this stay, we did notice that the shower seemed to be updated and the sink did in fact work which was nice but this bathroom was also dirty with previous guest hair. It was literally on the ceiling! Wallpaper was/is coming off the wall - again, just a dated room. Overall, this hotel needs to upgrade its rooms (especially the bathrooms) and do a better job cleaning those bathrooms. The staff is great, the grounds are beautiful and the location is near everything but also far enough back to avoid traffic noise. Would recommend but just be prepared to do some of your own house cleaning and deal with some minor issues when dealing with an older hotel.
