"My son and I (and two dogs) stayed here for one night during a road trip for hiking. From reading the old reviews it seems like the new owners have really been putting in hard work to bring this place back to life; they are still working on it but everything was clean and amenities have been upgraded from previous photos such as flat screen tv with plenty of satellite channels and a ceiling fan with a remote (which I had to take a picture of because I loved it and want to find one for myself). If you want fancy and new this isn't the place for you but if you are like me and enjoy the motels with midcentury history but modern upgrades, it's a great stay. They accommodated my dogs for a lower pet fee than anywhere else and the customer service couldn't have been any better. I'd definitely stay again."

"Not impressed! They need better training and a willing to take pride! No hot water! Moved rooms locked out! Walls paper thin! Hotel empty but put us all side by side!"

"Despite the listing saying pet friendly on ******* I was charged $95 for the dog and $40 for my 4 & 6 year old. They took our blankets & sheets because of the dog. In January, in the NC mountains, in a snow storm."
