Old Cataract, Aswan (operated by Mandarin Oriental)
"We stayed in the old building. The view from the window was beautiful, though photos probably look better from the new building. However, if you want to experience the hotel's traditional charm, the old building is definitely better. The hotel restaurant combines North African elegance with Baroque grandeur. The staff were well-mannered, polite, enthusiastic, decent, and attentive. Since we couldn't have breakfast at the hotel due to our trip to Abu Simbel, we asked the front desk to prepare a breakfast pack, which was very substantial. At sunset, a flutist plays in the lobby, adding a delightful ambiance."
Aswan Plaza Hotel Corniche
"We stay 2 nights here to go to Abu Simbel temple. The staff is friendly and helpful. Good experience with day trip and tour with the help from hotel."
Pyramisa Island Hotel Aswan
"The hotel is located on a pleasant island, about a five-minute ferry ride away, with the ferry provided by the hotel. The services are average, and the breakfast is continental. However, the facilities are quite old and not very clean, with noticeable dust on the floors."
Blue Lotus Nile Suites Aswan Hotel
"Wonderful, friendly service at a very reasonable price. A beautiful location with a beautiful view. The only downside is that you do have to walk to access downtown, which isn’t *too* big a problem unless you come in the middle of summer when it’s scorching hot and walking anywhere will drain you of energy very quickly! I absolutely recommend staying here and if I return to Aswan, I will almost certainly stay at this hotel."
Basma Hotel Aswan
"The room is full of dust. I need to wear a slipper that I took from Marriott. and you can see how the dust is in the room in the picture. however the staff is very helpful."
Obelisk Nile Hotel
"Location Good. Service good (the bellboy michael is very helpful). The hotel room is not clean, has bugs. and the water heater and perssure is suck. Not able to take a good shower after a hot day"
Tolip Aswan Hotel
"Tolip has won my heart in every way. From the courteous staff to the hospitality, Tolip has gotten 10/10 in every aspect. Well done Tolip, Aswan! You have made Egypt proud!"
Basma Executive Club
"It was pretty good. The service was excellent; a welcome drink was served as soon as I arrived in the room, and there was also welcome fruit. However, the bathroom in the room was very small, and the facilities were quite old."

Kato Waidi Nubian Resort
"A wonderful location, with excellent service and breakfast. Would highly recommend, I loved being right by the Nile for meals"
Crystala Guest House
"Good place, nice service."
La Terrace
"Located on calm and rural Elephantine island: a short ride from Aswan town on the frequent cheap ferry. Simple but spotless rooms with ensuite bathrooms; upper rooms have a shared terrace overlooking the river. Good wifi. Attentive and communicative manager who can arrange excursions (but negotiate to get the best price). Meals available at several nearby restaurants."
Benben by Dhara Hotels - Adults Only
"probably the best hotel you can find in the area. location, service, cleanliness everything was very good."
Fenti Nubian Resort
"Very nice little hotel. The rooms are in a rustic style, but have all the basics. The only thing that really lets the hotel down is the location, as it is quite out of the way and on an unpaved road. Getting an Uber/taxi was therefore not that easy."
The Zen Wellness Resort
"On our first night, the room was not clean. After our first complaint, housekeeping did a simple cleanup but it was still unsatisfactory. With our second complaint, a deeper cleaning was arranged, and the room was finally clean — though it was already past midnight (around 1am). The hotel staff apologized and kindly compensated us with a dinner discount, which we appreciated. Overall, we are happy with the team’s fast response and service recovery. One small feedback: the facilities’ opening hours (spa and gym) clash with typical sightseeing schedules. Since they open late and close early, we were unable to enjoy them. It would be great if the hotel could consider extending the operating hours. Credit to the room towel decoration. Surprises everyday we came back from sightseeing. Talented creativity of towel art."
Hapi Hotel
"It’s a 2 sided coin with this hotel, some positives and some negatives in all areas. Location is very close to the Nile river and train station which is convenient but the balcony of our hotel room looked out on some garbage tipping sights that were always crazy busy with construction, wild dogs barking, and Islamic prayers blaring from speakers until the early hours. The service at reception was okay depending on who was there at the time and they did organise the trip to Abu Simbel on a day’s notice. The wifi never worked but the room was clean and comfortable enough. Overall, not bad price for the room - reconsider using if you have trouble sleeping with loud noises or need wifi."
Cleopatra Hotel
"It was conveniently located next to the market"
Nub Inn
"Exceeded my expectation"
Villa Misk
"The lake is right in front of you and the view is great, but cars are not allowed and it's a 5-minute dirt road and stairs, so it's impossible to get there with large luggage. There is no reception because it is a privately run business. It's nice to see the children helping out, but they don't help with luggage, which is disappointing for the price."
