Obelisk Nile Hotel
8.4 (116 reviews)

Obelisk Nile Hotel ★★★★

📍 1 Corniche El Nile St, Sheyakhah Thalethah, Aswan

"This hotel is really old and definitely not worth the price. We stayed in Luxor for the same price and it was much, much better. The room was tiny; it was hard to move around after putting down two suitcases. It was supposed to be a 1.5m bed, but they put a 1.8m mattress on it, so if you sleep too close to the edge, it sags... The toilet leaked all night, and the air conditioning barely cooled the room."

"Great staff, rooms, amenities, a good era hotel, very gorgeous. A little worn but a great hotel. Breakfast was just unsalted butter. Great view of the Nile, a great start to the trip. June 9, 2024, outside temperature 46 degrees. Aswan is a great place."

Aswan Plaza Hotel Corniche

Aswan Plaza Hotel Corniche ★★★★

📍 3VWX+X88, Kornish Al Nile, Sheyakhah Thalethah, Aswan

"The location in Aswan is great, right next to the station. The price is a bit high, but I think it's one of the better options in Aswan. They also have laundry service, and the Nile River view is lovely."

Aro Kato Nubian Guest House

Aro Kato Nubian Guest House ★★★

📍 2VCG+XP, Manteqet Khazan Aswan, Aswan

"My stay at Aro Kato in August was truly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, I felt surrounded by warmth, genuine care, and endless attention. What made it so special was how natural and unobtrusive this care was — you never feel overwhelmed, yet somehow you always know that whatever you may need, at any moment, will be taken care of. And always in the best possible way. There is something very special about a place where you don't simply feel like a guest, but feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. I am deeply grateful to everyone at Aro Kato for making my time here so beautiful and memorable. This is definitely not just a place I would recommend — it is a place I will come back to. Thank you for everything. ❤️"

Kato Dool Wellness Resort

"Pros The hotel facilities were absolutely beautiful with an amazing view. Traditional Nubian style house. Every corner makes you want to capture the space. We had a rocky start but the hotel staff tried to redeem themselves. We lost an apple watch which the hotel helped us get back ASAP before we reached Luxor. We are grateful for this. Cons Awful communication and hospitality. We were the only guests in the entire resort because of low season but still received shitty service. The hotel is in a secluded place making it difficult to reach. It’s on top of a mountain on a dusty rocky road. The hotel offers a tuktuk. We did our research prior and contacted the hotel to arrange getting to the hotel from the village and check in since we knew we’d land in the AMs. We were ignored. We arrived at the village meeting point at 1:45 but only ended up getting to our rooms around 3:50am because reaching the hotel via call and WhatsApp was so difficult. The staff had no sense of urgency. We were frustrated and anxious in this wellness resort. Our taxi driver refused to take us up the mountain and the tuktuk refused to take us because of our many bags (which is understandable). I’m very disappointed in the service and I know the staff has lots of potential to improve on their service delivery. The hotel needs to be more cognisant of their customer service and guests hospitality. Staying here was stressful. Recommended if you want aesthetic vibes,a beautiful picturesque hotel with good breakfast. Don’t recommend if you prioritise great guest services, comfortability and peace."

Eshyan Guest House ★★★

📍 Sheyakhah Oula, Aswan 1, Aswan

"It's a new hotel with spacious rooms and balconies. Everything is spotlessly clean and brand new, except for the tour booking service, which is 200% more expensive to book."

Pyramisa Island Hotel Aswan

Pyramisa Island Hotel Aswan ★★★★★

📍 Corniche El Nil, Aswan

"Room was very old and not clean. We booked a king room and were given a twin room. They did move us to the correct room eventually after some arguing. Food at the restaurant was good with large variety. Communication was poor, we emailed the hotel 3 times in the lead up to find out how to get to the island and received no response."

Basma Executive Club

Basma Executive Club ★★★★

📍 3VHP+3FR, Aswan 1, Aswan

"Arriving at 9 am, I only planned to leave my luggage at the hotel, but the front desk helped me check in early 🙏; since I couldn't find anything to eat on my early flight, they arranged breakfast for me, $15 per person, which is a normal price. The scenery was truly comparable to the old falls. In Aswan, it felt like the inside and outside of the hotel were two different worlds; the hotel was safe and civilized, while the outside was chaotic and disorderly."

Crystala Guest House Hotels in Aswan

"The homestay is located next to the Elephant Island Pier, and you can walk there as soon as you get off the boat. The transportation is convenient. The sanitary conditions are very good, the room is clean and tidy, and there are hair dryers, shower gel and shampoo. There is a small living room on the first floor for rest and tea. The boss is very nice. He took the initiative to contact us and came to the pier to greet us and help with the luggage. He made fruit tea for us, and on the second night he sent us freshly squeezed mango juice and a bracelet made by his daughter. The English is very good and we can communicate smoothly. If I come to Aswan again, I will stay here again."

"This small hotel is located in a small village. We went there in February. It was dry and cold. The air conditioner can only cool. The wind from the door is very strong. The panoramic room has a balcony on one side, which is even colder. Sara at the front desk is more professional. You can ask her if you need anything, but she starts work at 10 am. The one in charge of the bar is very unreliable. The kettle for hot water we were served was not washed. The kettle that had milk in it made the water all mushy. The food hygiene is completely unreliable. He also forced us to sell two bottles of water. We didn't order them, but he gave them to us directly, so we thought they were for breakfast. Finally, he showed us the price list and asked us for money. I said you didn't tell us, and he said you didn't ask. The first stop in Aswan has a very bad impression!"

"Everything was perfect, from our arrival to our departure. The hotel is magnificent, the decor is exquisite, and the infinity pool is huge with a view of the Nile. The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. Our room was very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. We were even able to visit Agatha Christie's famous suite and the presidential suite, a special thank you to the young woman who gave us the tour, unfortunately, I didn't catch her name. We had an excellent stay and wished we could have stayed longer – maybe next time! Thank you for your warm welcome, kindness, and all your thoughtful touches. 😍"

"Wonderful, friendly service at a very reasonable price. A beautiful location with a beautiful view. The only downside is that you do have to walk to access downtown, which isn’t *too* big a problem unless you come in the middle of summer when it’s scorching hot and walking anywhere will drain you of energy very quickly! I absolutely recommend staying here and if I return to Aswan, I will almost certainly stay at this hotel."

"We stayed here for one night after being in Cairo and it was literally an oasis. We slept well, had an amazing breakfast and swam out the front of the lake. The staff we really caring and welcoming. We had to check out to go onto our next adventure. We all wished we could stay for another night and just relax from the whole day. Had we stayed the day we would have kayaked over to the temple."

"This is a very contradictory B&B hotel that I don't know if it is worth recommending. Its shortcomings and advantages are very prominent. It is suitable for Internet celebrities to make photos (the following photos are all original photos without retouching), but it is not suitable for anyone who has certain requirements for "accommodation" itself. If you can find any cheap + clean + similar scenery alternative hotel, it is recommended to change it, but if it is just for taking pictures and scenery, it may be ranked at the top in Nubian Village. First of all, you have to be able to tolerate: 1. The hotel price is not cost-effective in the peak season, and the B&B offers the price of a five-star hotel. 2. Poor room facilities, rough-style furniture and narrow rooms, worrying bed sheets, bathroom shower water overflowing and drainage is useless, no slippers, toothbrushes, hair dryers (phone front desk can provide). 3. The breakfast is self-service and extremely simple and unpalatable, unlike some people who commented on the set and inexplicably praised it. 4. Tolerate or pay more to continue to tolerate the complaints of the chartered driver to drive into Nubian Village, and then contact the hotel by yourself in the middle of the night to change to a three-wheeled motorcycle in the deserted and dark mountains for 15 minutes to doubt life and reach the mountaintop hotel. 5. Other prices are very unreasonable. We originally wanted to book dinner for the New Year's Eve party, but it cost 100 US dollars per person... What did we get here? 1. The balcony of the room can see the unbeatable sunrise on the west bank of the Nile. We witnessed the first light of 2025 here at 6 am. 2. The various poses in the cultural buildings of the Nubian Village are very photogenic. 3. The desert next to the hotel is very photogenic. 4. A very special cultural experience of a group of tourists jumping up and down the mountain in a row of three-wheeled vehicles. 5. The hotel service staff is relatively friendly. Finally, it is explained that Egypt is not a country where tipping is allowed. Carrying luggage is a basic service of any hotel in their country. No one asked for tips during the entire stay."

Pyramisa Island Hotel Aswan ★★★★★
"This was an absolutely terrible experience. I tried calling the front desk at night, but no one picked up. I went down to complain, and they didn't do anything about it. My laundry was supposed to be delivered by 4 PM, but it never arrived. When I asked about it that night, they said they'd get back to me but didn't. I had to call again the next morning to finally get it. The room door didn't close properly, leaving a huge gap. I booked a Nile view room and requested a king-size bed, but at check-in, I was given two keys: one for a twin-bedded room with a city view, and another for a king-size bed with a side view! Since it was dark, I had to choose the king-size side view room. The next day, I had to wait for ages to switch rooms. And I even brought a gift for the front desk, only to be completely ripped off! In short, everything was old and run down, and there was no one to answer service calls at night. They'd promise to send things right away but never did."

"The balcony is beautiful, offering a panoramic view of the Nile River. It's very close to the Old Falls hotel, and the hotel also serves lunch and dinner at reasonable prices with decent taste. Breakfast, however, is a bit basic. The service is excellent, and the staff are very welcoming."
