"Great weekend getaway!"

"It was the 3rd time we were there and for us it is the best Inatel in the country: comfortable, welcoming, has the right number of rooms, located in a beautiful place, the staff are extremely friendly, available and professional. We felt at home. The meals are excellent, both in quantity and quality. Employees replace it whenever requested. Suggestion for improvement: refresh the bathrooms and bedrooms, as there is some mold and cracks, obviously due to the age of the building. I hope to go back there again!"

"This was not a pleasant stay. The hotel has a weird policy. They demand the customer to carry pool towels in the room and hand them over to the front desk upon checkout. We did not bring them down because we did not use them at all. The staff insisted that we walk back to the room and bring them down to him. To prove that we did not steal them? Never experience such disrespectful policy to the customer. This suppose to be a nice resort hotel, not a motel. There was a printed post in the room with a long list of items and their price next to them. It's a warning that if you steal any of these, you will be charged on your way out. Interestingly, we found a dinner charge got tagged on to our bill which we never dined in the hotel and funny thing was that after I argued with the staff, he could not find the receipt in the restaurant. The charge was eventually got removed of course. The hotel charged me on my credit cards in USD but did not give me the option of charging in Euro. They put 4% service fee directly on my bill as a result of charging in USD. I argued that I want to charge in Euro but they shrugged and said that's the way it is. The hotel is dated and somewhat rundown. If you are visiting Coimbra area, stay somewhere else."

"Alva Valley Hotel is a great place to stay. Fantastic room with a huge terrace which opens onto a stunning landscape; delicious breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you to Xavi for the way he made us feel so welcomed in a hotel surrounded by magnificent natural beauty. Without a doubt, a place to return to."

"Several negative points to mention: Poorly sanitized indoor pool, cold water, no staff providing any support; towels are provided by the reception located on the third floor, with the Spa on the first, bathrobes provided upon payment of €5.00; Restaurant staff not qualified at all, although friendly; Weak breakfast, and around 10am they don't make any replacements; Uncomfortable child's extra bed with a thin mattress on which the platform feels; In the end there was no concern from the receptionist to know how the stay went... Not to be repeated..."

"A small paradise. A lot of different spaces all well thought and welcome. A pleasant and sympathetic staff. We loved the hotel and restaurant and we will return with certainty. The view is amazing and both the interior and the garden are very well careful."

"What an amazing place. We went as a family just for a short break and had a great time. Easy to deal with and book, Very clean and upmarket rooms, breakfast was great. Looking forward to returning in the future for a longer stay. Highly reccomended."
