Hotel Antequera Hills
"We visited recently as part of a UK based group. Before the trip I was concerned about negative reviews on TI. However my experience was very good, and I have no criticism that would deter its choice as suitable base for those visiting Andalusia. The hotel is modern, although from distance its roofs appear old. The rooms are modern and clean. Breakfasts and Dinners are buffet style, and quite good, though many visitors might prefer the many restaurants in the town, 10 - 20 minutes walk away. There is a sparkling clean swimming pool and a fair number of sunbeds, etc. All of the staff I spoke to were efficient and friendly. Finally, it is very good value, and a good choice if you're visiting this area."
Hacienda Fresneda María by Real Spain Hotels
"I’ll start by mentioning the positives of our stay at this hotel. The property from the outside (building, pool area, surroundings) looked exactly as shown in the photos – absolutely fantastic. The rooms were cleaned daily, and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were also helpful, especially the gentleman working there. Additional facilities such as the jacuzzi and sauna (30 minutes free per couple) as well as paid massages were definitely amenities worth appreciating. Unfortunately, there were far more downsides than we expected. The first issue was the room we were given. It was not the same room as shown in the photos. When we asked about it at reception the next day, we were told that not all rooms had been photographed. Our room had no terrace, and unlike the pictures, it was much smaller, darker, and less attractive. The one we received was nicely decorated but extremely cramped (barely enough space to open a suitcase) with one small window facing a shaded area. The room was not changed for us. The second problem was the pool – although beautiful, the water was very cold. Many people sat around the pool daily, but hardly anyone went in, and if they did, it was only for about five minutes. The sea water in Nerja was much warmer than the pool water. Another downside was the food. Breakfast offered a fairly wide selection, but the quality was quite average, with supermarket-style products. For example, the orange juice was not freshly squeezed but diluted store-bought juice. We had dinner there once, which we deeply regret — for the rather high prices, the dishes were very mediocre. The tagliatelle with pesto was terrible (1/10), the Angus beef burger was average (4/10), and only the Salmorejo was fairly good (7/10). There were a few other negatives as well — quite a few ants and spiders in the room, no fridge in some rooms despite a policy forbidding guests from bringing their own food or drinks (you can only buy from the bar), and an unfriendly receptionist with an Eastern accent who treated us in a rather condescending manner. Summary Overall, we were very disappointed and would not recommend this place. It is probably the worst “boutique” hotel pretending to represent higher standards that we have ever stayed in — and we’ve stayed in many across Europe."
Parador de Antequera
"Nice and very quiet hotel. Breakfast is delicious and extensive. The swimming pool with sunbathing area is super quiet. Free parking in front of the hotel. The room is nice and spacious with a good bathroom. El Torcal and the dolmen are well worth a visit. Antequera is a small, cute town. If you don't stay too long, it is perfectly manageable."
Coso Viejo
"The hotel is a central hotel with good facilities."
Hostal Colon Antequera
"More dated than Machin's maracas, although on the main street. Be careful not to accept a room with a streetlight that prevents you from sleeping, and something that you should take care of is that guests do not have to endure the smell of fried fish. The smoke is in the hallway. The prices are cheap, but they are not a bargain."
Hotel Fuente del Sol
"I have just returned from this fabulous hotel. The surrounding area is magnificent so beautiful. Really enjoyed our stay. I came to the area in a view to move to just outside Antequerra. A must to stay here for the peaceful and tranquil hotel."
Hotel Manzanito
"So surprised by this hotel, only rated 2 star but located in a dabulous square with fabulous view from the balcony. The rooms are large with large bathrooms and spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we woukd definitely go back."
Hotel la Yedra
"Excellent value hotel situated on a motorway slip road. We booked in advance as a place to stay after a few days visiting Sierra de Andujar. We wanted to visit El Torcal before returning to Malaga. Arrived early evening , plenty of free parking. Check in was a bit slow & old school but the 4 of us shared 2 rooms which were clean & spacious with excellent bathrooms , hot water & gel etc provided . Very good value price - wise. The bar is good with food being served there as well as drinks. We didn't use the restaurant & also took our breakfast in the bar which was very busy with truck drivers."
La Sierra
"I don't think it deserves 4 stars, it's very outdated overall, the room we were given... on the other hand, in terms of cleanliness, it was remarkably clean."
