"We LOVED staying at Eleni on the Beach. We had a room at the top with outdoor balcony (all rooms have balconies with breathtaking views). We were given a wheel of cheese (homemade from their goats’ milk!) and a bottle of wine (also homemade). Maria and Ellis couldn’t enough for us - provided us with tips re hiring a car (from Yannis), where to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner, how and where to explore the different parts of the island - Amorgos is largely untouched and is completely oozing history - the island where’The Big Blue’ was filmed, so we went to private beaches and the famous cliffside monastery! Completely breathtaking!!!!! We will definitely be back!!!!!"

Hotel Minoa ★★

"The +: Nice hotel with excellent location right in the middle of the port of Katapola. Very easy to find when out of the ferry: 3 mn away! Pleasant welcome when you arrive, although little contacts afterwards (we never saw the owner Jeanne who was mentionned in several critics). Rooms were nice, and well kept. The -: It would be nice to have fitted sheets: an instant after you get in the bed, the bottom sheet does not fit anymore which makes it raher unpleasant as the bed becomes a complete mess!!! Fridge works with the room keys: so it only works when you are in the room, which is rather useless as it takes a while to have some fresh inside the fridge. Besides it was quite noisy, so we decided not to use it. On TV only greek channels... Breakfast is more than basic and very disapointing: no presentation and not much on the buffet, thin slices of cheese and ham just out of plastic containers, no eggs (you have to pay a supplement ...), bread a bit dry, and as for jams ... only orange in 3 different pots. 2 very stuffy cakes (while we are in a bakery). And when you arrive , and no coffee left, no orange juice left, the maid sitting on a chair with her mobile. You have to go and ask the manager: not much of customer service! So all in all, disapointed after the critics we had read."

"The hotel is well located on the beach, with a magnificent sea view for breakfast and a lovely, pleasant pool with comfortable sun loungers. However, the sun loungers on the beach are all broken. The reception was very poor, not to say unpleasant, especially if you point out that the room you receive is nothing like the premium room you booked directly on their website months in advance, even after visiting three different ones. The secondhand furniture in these rooms was nothing like the photos on the website; I'm still wondering why I paid more for this room… As for cleanliness, it was very average, even though daily cleaning was done. A simple water cleaning would certainly be more effective. However, our bathroom was cleaned every day because it flooded after every shower; the cleaning staff didn't have much choice. Moving on to breakfast, the "homemade" bread must have been baked at least the day before to be consistently so dry. The coffee, so reheated, perhaps from the day before, when it wasn't cold, was undrinkable, forcing us to buy a coffee at the bar to get something decent. There was no butter, only tasteless margarine. Fortunately, the jams were good, as were the cakes. It's worth noting that the tea was always lukewarm, so not really a substitute for coffee."

"We stayed at Yperia for 3 nights. Antonis the owner gave us a warm welcome. He is very friendly and very helpfull. The breakfast was included and very good. Some rooms are renovated this year. We were lucky to be able to stay in one of the new rooms called: “Isle Essence” It was ameezing. Very taste full decorated. Nice warm colours and romantic lights. The bed was fantastic. Also the view.we are sure to come back next year."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Aegialis Hotel & Spa is one of those places where the location alone makes the experience memorable. The view over Aegiali and the Aegean is absolutely breathtaking, especially around sunset. What I loved most was the combination of wellness, fitness and relaxation. If you enjoy staying active while travelling, this really feels like a little fitness paradise, while the spa is perfect for recovery after hiking, swimming or exploring Amorgos. A few tips for future visitors: • Even if you are not staying at the hotel, it is worth checking whether you can visit for a day to enjoy the spa, fitness facilities or wellness experiences. • Bring your training clothes. The fitness experience here is genuinely worth making time for. • Book some spa time after a long hiking or exploring day , Amorgos can be very active, so it is the perfect way to recover. • Try to be at the hotel around sunset at least once. The view is one of the best on the island. • Don’t over-plan your day. Leave some time simply to enjoy the pool, the surroundings and the view. • Ask about the fitness and wellness activities available during your visit, as there may be different experiences depending on the period. For me, Aegialis is not only a hotel but also a destination in itself. Even if you are staying somewhere else on Amorgos, I would still recommend experiencing the spa or fitness side of the hotel for a few hours. Perfect for active travellers, couples and anyone who wants to combine exploring Amorgos with wellness and recovery."
