"Safe and clean hotel, and bed was reasonably comfortable. And a good breakfast. So why the poor review? Dinner was terrible - cold lumpy rice, no local food, poor service as we could not get a drink. Gym was closed as they had moved tables into it for some event they were holding - not much better when open as much of the equipment was broken. Hot water pot did not work - had to ask for a new one. Refrigerator in room did not get cold and no temp adjustment - had maintenance take a look and they said all fixed - but still did not get cold. Mentioned to the desk in morning and they claimed the refrigerator in room is not meant to to keep anything cold! We had two towels first night, housekeeping replaced the two towels and bathmat with just one towel. Loud garbage truck at 6am. Note this is in a residential neighborhood, so there is nothing nearby."

Price of the room was realy Fair... Breakfast and dinner were huge!!!! I tried the massage in the Spa twice, they are professional and very good."

"I arrived 3.30am exhausted and without my luggage as the airline had lost it. Went to the assigned room in an area that stank, and with screeching people next door. I found the room in a filthy, stinking, used condition with plates of half-eaten food lying around. My replacement room was much better with a comfy bed, but the bathroom was dirty with moldy grout and, damaged mirror. The large metal disc on the bathroom floor moved if you stood on it and was a danger as your foot could go down. The towels were grey and smelly. Breakfast was so vile I couldn't eat much of it. The coffee was undrinkable. One morning I asked for bread and after 30 minutes I gave up and left. The supper wasn't too good so I ate twice at Akash (opposite hotel .. 1st class). One night I ate in the hotel same time as a friend. I was violently sick a few hours later and had to clean up totally by myself even though I was promised someone would come with a brush/mop but never did. My supper companion and terrible diarrhea most of the next day. Twice during the week my room was not cleaned ...'well, they have gone home now'! Often, coffee etc not replenished then when you go to ask for it they say there isn't any. I checked out 3 days early and went elsewhere for the rest of my stay. They kept on about being 4 stars but the most important thing for me was safe food and hygiene, not the pool (closed up anyway) spa & gym. The foyer is nice, and there is a lovely independent Jordanian craft shop just inside."

"Amman west was the best Hotel i have stayed at in Amman. The staff treated us very well and the hotel was very clean. Osama was one of the nicest hosts. He helped us to book a driver to wadi rum and Petra and Dead Sea without any notice before and he got us an excellent price. The breakfast here was also very good and we were also allowed to use the pool even though it was off season. All over I had an amazing time in Jordan thanks to the great hospitality at this hotel. Thankyou Amman west."
