"The location is excellent for visiting the city center. The hotel staff were all friendly and accommodating, especially Nuno at the front desk. There is no parking at the hotel but paid street parking is close by. I think there is also a free public lot not too far away but we didn't look for it The breakfast was fresh with plenty of fruit and pastries. There were also bacon and eggs if you wanted a hot component. Coffee, tea and water were provided in the room, along with a selection of beverages in the minibar. The only negative comment would be navigating around the door when trying to enter the bathroom, but it was just an annoyance and not a deal breaker. There are steep climbs on cobblestone throughout the city. Getting to the hotel is no exception but we would stay here again."

"We made a 7-days walk along the Douro and had one night in this beautiful and really charming house. Ricardo made a wonderful dinner for the evening. He surpised us, besides the dinner, with champagne and red velvet cake. It was our birthday and he really wanted to spoil us. So, it was great to be there. The house is a beautiful old building, nicely restored and decorated. The room was comfortable, and also the bed. Lamego is a beautiful place to visit as well."
