"We stumbled upon this wonderful inn by chance, after booking a nearby property (I won't name any names) that was terribly clean and had extremely rude and even aggressive staff. However, we were truly fortunate: La Locanda del Pilone is an oasis of peace and beauty, and we had a wonderful time. The property is an old house nestled in the vineyards, tastefully furnished with local antiques, immaculately clean, and beautifully scented. My sincere compliments to the Boroli family and to all, and I mean all, the staff: the reception staff, the housekeeper and cleaning staff, the dining room staff (measures and sommelier), and the fantastic team led by Michelin-starred Chef Federico Gallo, who was not only competent but also very friendly and kind. Our room was beautiful, spacious, with a large, new bathroom and spotlessly clean, featuring period furnishings that I personally love. The amenities also included wonderful Parma water, such as shower gels and toiletries. The towels, bathrobes, curtains, carpets, and drapes were all top-quality and so clean they looked like they came straight from the factory. It's a true 4-star hotel. We used the bistro and not the Michelin-starred one because we didn't want to bother other guests, as we have a one-year-old (a terrible age), but the staff was incredibly kind: they heated up his food for us and provided a high chair. The pool was beautiful and new. I recommend a tour of the cellar, with Arianna, a super knowledgeable winemaker, and her wines are sublime. The value for money is fair; you pay for quality, and that's fair enough, otherwise it wouldn't be quality. You made us feel at home; the facility and the staff were top-notch. We'll be back!!! Thank you for everything."

"We stayed in the 120 m² penthouse apartment, which was modern and tastefully furnished. It had two bedrooms and a spacious, fully equipped kitchen (with a Nespresso machine and capsules!). There's a terrace that wraps around the entire apartment with plenty of seating and some lovely views. The apartment is high enough that it's not too noisy during the day. Parking is available nearby. The owner was friendly, and check-in via mobile phone was hassle-free. We would definitely stay here again."

The extremely unfair and disappointing policy is the request for an extra €25 at check-in (and not specified during the booking process) for the second person's stay, even though I specifically booked (on ***********) a DOUBLE ROOM FOR TWO ADULTS!!!"

"Located in the heart of Alba, it's an ideal spot for exploring the city on foot. It's also easily accessible by car, with parking available. The historic building, though old, has a charming atmosphere. The high ceilings and especially the large windows, overlooking the courtyard or alleyways, create a wonderful sense of openness. Breakfast is served at the adjacent bar, part of the same group, allowing you to feel like a local and enjoy a comfortable stay. For this type of accommodation, it offers an atmosphere comparable to a luxury hotel. The cost performance is outstanding."

"The Medea exceeded our expectations in every way. Be aware that without a car it is a bit isolated. We did have a car, though, so it was great to have free parking on the premises, and only a 5-minute drive into Alba. It was also easily accessible to the many other places we visited, much more so than if we had stayed in the center of Alba. The room and public areas are spotless, the decor is traditional with good quality wood furniture, the bathroom is well-equipped and large, the king-size bed very comfortable. The staff could not have been nicer. We do not eat breakfast, so it was nice to have the option not to include it."
