Victoria Hotel & Residence
"Rooms were very clean and modern. Breakfast was good. Not enough free parking"
Villars Palace
"Such a special night dining place n the balcony with friends. The location is superb with the ever changing mountain backdrop quite mesmerising in the evening light. Although a formal hotel, the decor and staff are both inviting . We choose the Summer four course with matching wines as a treat to thank our friends for their hospitality in Villars. From beginning to end, the food and wine were superb. The staff were all attentive and friendly which added to our experience. Dining at The Palace Hotel has been a highlight of our travel. "
Villars Lodge
"Excellent welcome, magnificent, very warm location with splendid rooms. We were able to fully enjoy the team stay. It was a wonderful weekend where we were well received and well served by the team. I recommend !"
Chalet RoyAlp Hotel and Spa
"The hotel is nice, and the staff at reception welcoming. The room (a "mountain-inspired Junior Suite") was large and nice, although the view was mostly on a path were several walkers would regularly stop a few meters away from our window. The pool and sauna/steam bath are also large, modern and well decorated. On the negative side, impossible to book a treatment at the spa, it was fully booked - fortunately, we found slots at a nearby hotel. The shower cabin in our room has not been cleaned at all during our stay. And at breakfast, we were told every day that the tables next to the window were occupied, but nobody sat there during the hour or so when we had breakfast. Sad that these few regular issues lower the overall rating of the hotel."
Alpe Fleurie Residence
"Very unfriendly people and the place smells. Why can’t they make an effort to be friendly and not make you feel guilty that you choose their place to spend your money. Makes me sad behavior. It’s just not the right place …, rooms are basic, restaurant is very traditional with this odeur that is unpleasant and the service is not very friendly. Sorry I can’t be more positive but my recommendation is to choose one of the other newer and better hotels!"
Chalet la Griotte
"Beautiful environment, very like the retro style, the restaurant is available."
Viu Hotel Villars
"It is a hotel with a strong Chinese feel, with a large display of Chinese flags. There is a sauna, a small pool and a gym. All the staff were so friendly that I became a fan. It feels great to have a cigar or go outside after the pool."
Maison des Sports
Hotel du Nord
"The hotel is located in the centre of the town, looked nice on the website, so after walking about 25km on the Via Francegina (our first day's walking), we were looking forward to relaxing there. We got there at 4.45 in the late afternoon. We had already advised in advance it would be a late arrival due to our trek. We were advised check-in was up to 7pm in the evening. So relieved we got there, we decided to go for a drink, before checking in, freshening up etc. We had just ordered drinks in the nearby bar, when I got a phone call from the receptionist, who had seen us outside the hotel, (as we discussed what to do), to say that we had to check in immediately. I explained we would be there shortly and she advised us, on no uncertain times, that we must check in immediately. So we left our drinks and did so. We tried to explain our relief at walking the 25km and to celebrate it by having a drink, but she was having none of it, and no apology for the drinks we had to leave behind. She snapped 'passports'. I tried to explain that we understood check-in was until 7 and hence we didn't know of the urgency. She simply said, that she was in the hotel all day on her own and she had to get transport home. I again reminded her that check -in was until 7 and she said 'not today'. I calmly advised again that we were not advised of the earlier check-in, and she simply snapped again about payment, with a very cross face and with no eye-contact, There was no chance to ask questions about facilities in the hotel or elsewhere. She was closing up and not only the reception but the hotel itself would not be manned for the rest of the night. We had to have a code to enter the hotel and if we forgot it, we would have to ring a number. She was cross, rude and totally unprofessional . Never have I experienced such rudeness in the hospitality sector. The room was adequate and clean but over-priced for what was provided. The carpets in the central hallways were stained and required a vacuum. The hotel is classed as a hotel, but apart from the fact that it provides breakfast in the morning, I question how it gets that category. Breakfast was a buffet and had a minimalist selection. No other services whatsoever. The only redeeming feature was that the girl assisting with the breakfast, of Sri-Lankan origin, had a lovely smile and was helpful. I noted from other reviews, that other clients had similar 'cool' experiences. A friendly welcome would have made all the difference, despite it being overpriced. I would NOT recommend staying here."
