Grand Hotel Mosè ★★★★

📍 Viale Leonardo Sciascia, nº47A3, AG, Villaggio Mose

"My husband and I stayed at this property, it was excellent in every way: the staff were friendly, the pool was clean, the breakfast was good, but it could be improved. We will definitely be back."

Villa Athena Resort

Villa Athena Resort ★★★★★

📍 Via Passeggiata Archeologica, 33, Agrigento

"Dinner at Italian restaurants usually starts at 7:30 pm. At Athena, we enjoyed a sumptuous dinner, which turned out to be the most expensive meal of our trip to Italy. The hotel's special seafood platter for two cost €90, and the white wine recommended by the waiter was also quite good. The flowers in the room were beautiful, the bottled water on the bedside table was complimentary, and the items in the mini-bar were reasonably priced."

"NOOOOOO! Not a good experience at all!! After reading 100’s of positive reviews we booked this property for a few nights while needing a place to while visiting the Temples and Scala de Turchi. We are a well traveled couple and have stayed at many different accommodations from quaint and charming B & B’a to luxurious 5 * properties.I This (hoping for charming)was NOT what we were expecting at all:/ the entrance coming up the street is in a very beat up unkept area and the front of the building non existent. Just “ugly”. When we entered there were staff in formal attire which led us to “believe” this would be more of a “service” oriented property as opposed to one with the amenities you would expect paying £158/night. Then came the room…OMG….from the second the door opened we were blasted with the smell of mold! So bad that even with the doors and windows open it wouldn’t go away, this is not just a little mold but dangerous BLACK MOLD that made us both quite sick. The breakfast was nothing special! Zero hot food and basic stale pastries and old fruit! Bed felt like cement, pillows were a joke, furnishings dated, grounds although pretty with very nice distant views were really nothing that specia !! Where are these positive reviews coming from???!! I am annoyed with both Trip Advisor as well as *********** for not verifying these reviews and steering us in the wrong direction!!! After this experience i don’t think we will ever trust” these websites again!! We headed on our journey to the next stop with a hotel rated far lower and paid £84 per night for an incredible experience!! It saved our bad “trip” and lifted our mood!! Please dont go by the reviews of this property or be prepared to be gravely disappointed:/ im sorry but i had to post this to help or stop the next person!! Couldn’t wait to leave that is how bad it was:("

La Dolce Vita rooms & suite

La Dolce Vita rooms & suite ★★

📍 Via Francesco Sala, 25, Agrigento

"Lovely accommodation high above Agrigento, with ocean views from the terrace. It requires climbing several flights of stairs to reach the accommodation. The rooms are clean, with spacious bathroom, and everything is very well maintained. Breakfast was good, with freshly baked, warm croissants."

Atenea Luxury Suites - Atenea Collection

Atenea Luxury Suites - Atenea Collection ★★★

📍 Via Atenea, 345, Agrigento

"I had never been to Agrigento, it was a discovery!!! The choice of bed and breakfast is perfect for the area, right in the centre, in the Pirandello theater square, very close to the main street full of restaurants and all the attractions of the city. The alleys of the center are very suggestive. The room with a wonderful sea view, excellent breakfast with local products. To conclude I would like to thank the owners, very nice and kind. They gave us so much valuable information about the surrounding areas to visit. Overall, we were thrilled."

B&B Baglio Santa Croce Hotels in Agrigento

B&B Baglio Santa Croce

"I am also unsure about the reliability of a lot of the positive reviews that I have read, most of which are glowing while suspiciously non-specific. The place is objectively below standards, the owners are probably struggling financially and thus trying to run a low-budget operation -- and it shows. But it is not really a cheap place to stay either... The room is clean (but as noted by others, that is a must), comfortable and spacious, that much I agree with, and the air conditioner works (something that one cannot take for granted in Europe) but that is basically where the positives end. This is why I am giving it two stars instead of one. The location is inconvenient, In order to get just about anywhere it is necessary to walk up a steep hill and that can be a problem for people with limited mobility, no supermarket in the immediate vicinity and there is no public transportation available; hence, one must call a taxi or just walk. If one drives one's own car, the B&B has parking but there is a charge. The owner/manager is never on the premises and can only be reached via WhatsApp; if you need assistance and do not use that app, you're out of luck. The fridge in the room is functional but very tiny, and because (see below) one will likely need to buy one's own food (especially for breakfast), the small size is inconvenient. Alright, now we come to the breakfast part -- after all, that is what a B&B gets half of its name from. Um, wait... breakfast? What breakfast? Are you kidding me? As far as I am concerned, whatever it is that they have is no "breakfast" by any stretch of imagination. Breakfast is only served from 8 to 9:30, which already makes it inconvenient because people on vacation like to start their day earlier than that. One walks into this furnace that is the breakfast room (there is an air conditioner but they keep it off to save money), the person in charge greets you and offers you one teeny tiny croissant and some barely drinkable coffee (brownish hot water basically). There is a table where you find literally vending machine snacks (still wrapped in plastic), a sliced honeydew melon and no other pieces fruit (not even bananas), a few other supermarket items (e.g., 4-5 commercial yogurt cups, jam etc.), two jars of fruit juice (non-standard flavors), a few slices of swiss cheese and ham, stale sliced bread and a few hard boiled eggs and a cake from jurassic age... that's it. No water, no butter, no local/fresh pastries, no scrambled eggs, no vegetables, no orange juice. And if that's not enough, they do not replenish anything, so, you get there late... oops, too bad... Thankfully it is Sicily and there are plenty of places where one can go and enjoy amazing food for relatively little money but that is no reason for a B&B to fall so catastrophically short. I am quite sure that for the same money one can do much better in that area, so before you settle for this (as the very last option), do your own research. Not recommen"

Verdura Resort, a Rocco Forte Hotel Hotels in Agrigento

Verdura Resort, a Rocco Forte Hotel

"Verdura Resort may be Sicily’s best resort. There is no stone left unturned when it comes to service and hospitality here. Anything little thing I wished they could have done - they did. - Messy wires from phones, they wrapped. - Quick responses related to reservations and transportation, they managed. - Leaving your car at your doorstep and help with luggage, they were there on the dot. - Convenient check out since you had an early flight, they accommodated so you didn’t have to go to the front desk. - Need a cart to go one place to the next, they were there in less than 3 minutes. - Child ordering adult meals, they adjusted for kid prices. - Booked with Chase Reserve and associated benefits, they did it all without you even whispering it. Their attention to detail is second to none and by far the most hospitable resort I’ve been to. One small critique… because the resort is so large and spread out, I think they could be more creative with events or activities. If it’s peace and quiet you’re looking for, nothing needs to be done otherwise."

"This is a very quiet and unique hotel. All 25 rooms have private swimming pools. The warm and thoughtful service plus the unique natural scenery of Sicily are worth staying for a few days. The restaurant charges a lot but the atmosphere is great! If I go to Sicily, I will stay there for a few more days!"

Adler Spa Resort Sicilia Hotels in Agrigento

Adler Spa Resort Sicilia

"This hotel is located “in the middle of nowhere”. I even didn’t see it driving along on small local road, as it is completely hidden. Very modern design, where buildings are built the way, that nature has priority and everything else is in the shadow. Spacious rooms with terraces overlooking quiet wild harbor and nearby cliffs. The only improvement which I will do, would be complete separation of bathroom from leaving room. Currently there are holes between wooden construction dividing these two spaces. So if one person takes shower in the morning, the second person can’t continue sleeping, as noises from bathroom are too loud. There is amazing bar with unforgettable sunset spot and nice, calm jazzy live music every evening. Restaurant provides enough options to satisfy carnivores as well as vegetarians and dinners are organized in a very beautiful dining rooms. Last,,but not least - every single staff member we met, was service oriented, with smile on her/his face. Dear ADLER employees and management, you elevated our experience from stay in your hotel, on very high World Class level. Bravo !"

Grand Hotel Mosè ★★★★
"We stayed one night. I appreciated the hotel's proximity, just a 5-minute drive from the Valley of the Temples. The hotel was very quiet on the day of our visit. We also had dinner there. The meal was very good. We loved the grilled octopus."

"The decor is a bit strange, with kissing statues everywhere. The bed is huge. No blackout curtains, but it's good for early mornings in a small town. It has a terrace with a view of the sea. It's located on the slopes on the central train side."

La Dolce Vita rooms & suite ★★
"We stayed at La Dolce Vita Rooms & Suite in Agrigento and honestly it was one of those places you don’t want to leave. The location is right up on the mountain in the old town, kind of a little labyrinth of streets and stairs. It feels super local too, like this is where the city actually lives. The neighbors around were surprisingly friendly and warm to us as tourists, which made the whole vibe even better. The staff were amazing from the first moment. Really welcoming, answering every question, helping with directions and tips, always with a smile. Parking is not the easiest (old town life 😄) but if you accept the local Italian way of driving and parking, it becomes part of the experience and it’s totally worth it. The room itself was top quality. The bathroom felt high end and spotless, the bed was super comfy, and the balcony was huge and beautifully set up. There’s also this massive olive tree that just blew our mind. And the view… looking out over the rooftops all the way to the sea is just amazing. Breakfast was great too. More of a DIY style, but they really prepare everything so you have plenty of options and it feels thoughtful. We would come back anytime."

Atenea Luxury Suites - Atenea Collection ★★★
"Sympathetic, atmospheric suites in the atmosphere of the old city. We had a spacious room with classic styling and bathroom with bath, and a view of the old town. We were able to park in front of the door after an adventurous, challenging ride through the maze of small streets. Still manageable in our rented Fiat 500...nice bed and pillows. Definitely recommended and affordable price per room. (if, like me, you didn't get stuck on ******* 3 times, and suddenly turned out to have 4 rooms... curious how that will be resolved... now have a good night's sleep after a delicious dinner with the tip of the owner on the nearby square near a Michelin restaurant… la vita es bella"
