4-Star Hotels in East Java, Indonesia

The location was perfect for us, as we really enjoy exploring a new city on foot. There are many eateries within walking distance of the hotel, including the famous Tunjungan No. 39 restaurant, as well as major shopping malls like Tunjungan Plaza. The service provided by the staff was also excellent, from the front desk to the cleaning crew and even the security guard. We will definitely come back again.

stay for a night during our transit in Surabaya — the room looks new, and very clean. didn't book the breakfast option as we are planning to leave early so we didn't try their food. The staff also friendly and helpful, the hotel is located at praxis building, we went with a car and the hotel will provide the free parking voucher on your check-in. Got few resto and circle-K as well on the ground level, so very convenient. will come back next time!

I had a wonderful experience at the Four Seasons by Sheraton. The location is perfect for tourists — there’s a large shopping mall right next door, making it super convenient for dining and shopping. A lively tourist street is also just a short walk away, so there’s always something to explore. The service was outstanding throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Overall, this hotel offers great comfort, convenience, and hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Downsides: The room facilities are a bit old, and the gym is too small, but the pool was clean. Highlights: The room was clean, the staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was excellent! I'll definitely stay here again next time!

One of the best hotel in Surabaya, standing on the biggest mall in Indonesia, we can feel a good holiday with another experiences. The breakfast was so amazing, have a good taste and serve with a lot of kindness. We will back again.

Stayed here recently and honestly, overall it was a pretty lovely experience. The place itself has a nice, calming vibe, and once everything settled, it really felt worth it. But… check-in was a bit of a confusing. The staff told me that because of a Lebaran promo, my room got upgraded from Deluxe to a mountain view room. Naturally, I was happy. Thought I hit the jackpot, right? Well… turns out, not quite. When we got to the room, it felt a bit off straight away. Smaller space, tighter layout, and definitely not what you’d expect from a Deluxe upgrade. Turns out it was actually a Superior room, which is a level BELOW Deluxe. Felt a bit like being pranked, not gonna lie. And with three of us, it just didn’t work. Way too cramped. I ended up going back down, had a proper chat with the staff, and asked to be moved. To their credit, they handled it quite well. Got us back into the correct Deluxe room, and yeah… massive difference. The room was way more spacious, much quieter, and just felt right. Proper comfort. That’s when the stay finally clicked into place. So yeah, a bit of a shaky start, but it ended well. If anything, just DOUBLE CHECK your room type during check-in so you don’t get caught off guard like I did. Would I stay again? Yeah, probably. Just with a bit more attention at the front desk next time.

Incredible hotel. Very aesthetic deco right from its entrance to the open air lobby and the spacious very well facilitated room. The restaurant food is great too! Facing the sea overlooking Bali. You can’t go wrong with this hotel!

This is my second stay here, and I absolutely loved all the friendly staff. I'll definitely be back, but next time I'll request a room on the 17th floor. This room is perfectly fine if you're just looking for a place to rest.

Ketapang Indah Hotel was very well located for me - it was a short drive from the Ketapang railway station and the ferry port to Bali. I was very impressed with the grounds, which are very well maintained and presented. It has a lovely outlook over the strait towards Bali. I had a hotel room, but there are larger villas available. The hotel room was a little bit small, but was fine for my purposes. Perhaps it is slightly dated, but the bed was comfortable. I had a great time in the pool, which was large and clean. The restaurant was strange - I'd say 80% of the guests were local Indonesians, but 80% of the evening guests were Westerners! I asked where the locals had their dinner and apparently they go to the warungs out on the road. Anyhow, the food I had over 2 nights was fine and the service very friendly. Breakfast is extensive. I would stay there again, mostly for its accessible location.

Very friendly staff. Rooms bit on the small side despite my booking a family room. Breakfast buffet is ok, more street food style. Good location, close to the big attractions.
