First, the positives! The service attitude was exceptionally good! Whether it was me, being a bit delicate, asking the customer service小姐姐 (a polite term for a young woman) for two extra quilts, or asking the kitchen姐姐 (a polite term for an older woman) for a plate to wash fruit, everyone was incredibly happy to help! No one showed any impatience whatsoever. Everyone was genuinely wonderful, like a big, happy family.
Now for the downsides: The secondhand smoke problem is really serious! From the moment you enter the main gate, there are people smoking everywhere. There are also ashtrays outside the rooms on the second floor, and people smoke there daily. Of course, I had seen reviews mentioning this before checking in, so I was prepared. Also, the water heater is still a bit unstable – one minute it's scalding hot, the next it's freezing cold. I was practically doing the tango in the shower!
Overall, it's great value for money. I found some travel buddies here, and I'd definitely recommend staying at Bigfoot's if you're traveling solo!
Staying at this B&B in Lijiang, recommended by a friend, truly lived up to the hype! The owners and staff are incredibly warm, attentive, and polite. The guesthouse itself is beautiful, with stunning viewpoints and a lovely restaurant. It's perfectly located close to the ancient town, and you can even drive right up to the entrance, which is super convenient. The rooms are well-equipped, even featuring a smart AI assistant for your needs. Their breakfast, afternoon tea, and butter tea are not only delicious but also a delightful experience. (They even have card game buddies, haha!)

The location is exceptionally convenient, situated on an old street with easy access to various malls, dining options, and shopping facilities. There are numerous bubble tea establishments nearby, and the area feels very safe. We also found it very simple to arrange transportation through Didi.
Gym was well equipped and the laundry and dryer service for guest usage was exceptional.
Our stay was thoroughly enjoyable, and the amenities were impeccably maintained. We highly recommend this establishment and certainly plan to return.

This charming homestay is tucked away on a quiet side street, just a quick 2-minute walk from the main Lianian Street. My friends and I loved the beautiful courtyard and traditional architecture — it really captured the local character of Jianshui.
We only stayed one night, right after the Golden Week holidays, and were pleasantly surprised that the staff could arrange spacious rooms for us on the same second floor (I’d recommend choosing the second floor over the first). The staff were friendly and very responsive to our questions and requests.
One thing to note: because it’s designed in a traditional courtyard style, you can hear other guests talking if you leave your windows open — but that’s part of the authentic atmosphere!
The hotel is located right within the Dongfengyun Scenic Area, and I honestly think it's the best hotel both inside and around the area! You can enter and exit the scenic area 24/7, allowing you to fully enjoy both the day and night views. During Chinese New Year, there were even light and dance shows, making the night scenery mysteriously stunning. The hotel itself is an Instagram-worthy spot with a fantastic design; every photo turns out great, so definitely set aside time to explore it slowly. There's a shuttle cart service from the hotel to the scenic area, and within the area, you can use the shuttle carts or rent a small electric scooter for a fee. I wouldn't recommend walking as it's sunny and vast, not very suitable for the elderly.
**Facilities**
We stayed in a suite with two rooms, and it was super spacious – easily accommodating our family of six. Snacks, drinks, and water were proactively refilled, which was a thoughtful touch. The only minor drawback was that the air conditioning wasn't cooling during Chinese New Year, so it was a bit warm during the day. We had to open the windows for ventilation to sleep. The hot spring area incurs an additional charge, so you can experience it if you wish.
**Cleanliness**
It was clean and tidy, with prompt housekeeping. There were no unpleasant odors, and both public areas and rooms were cleaned very promptly. Drinking water supply was unlimited and delivered to the room as needed.
**Dining**
The breakfast spread was rich, and the restaurant's location was superb, creating a fantastic ambiance for eating and taking photos. Lunch and dinner were on the pricier side and not very extensive, but the taste was decent. If you have time, I'd recommend heading into Mile city to try local delicacies instead.
**Surroundings**
It's a 10-minute drive from the high-speed rail station, but a bit far from the city center and the Mile Giant Buddha. For a day trip or two-day trip, I'd suggest booking a private car. The nearby wineries aren't particularly special, so you can skip them. The hotel itself is worth staying at for two or three days, perfect for a vacation.
**Summary**
High aesthetic appeal, excellent location, quiet, and comfortable. Highly recommended for family trips, couples' getaways, especially for those who love taking photos, travel photography, and exploring Dongfengyun in depth!

I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank the owner for the wonderful BBQ Doufu gathering they organized for all the guests. It was such a thoughtful and kind gesture, and it truly made our stay even more memorable.
The effort they put into bringing everyone together, preparing the delicious food, and creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere did not go unnoticed. It was a joy to meet the other guests, share stories, and enjoy the fantastic BBQ Doufu in such a beautiful setting. Their hospitality and attention to detail made the evening truly special.
This homestay is not just a place to stay—it’s an experience filled with warmth, care, and a sense of community. We are so grateful for the memories we’ve made here, and the BBQ gathering was the perfect highlight of our time.
I will definitely recommend this homestay to others and hope to visit again in the future.

A perfect stay! From the moment we walked in, the staff's genuine smiles and thoughtful service made us feel incredibly valued. The room was spacious and bright with an amazing view, and the cleanliness was impeccable down to every detail. The hotel facilities are top-notch, and the dining was a true feast for the senses. What impressed us most was how warm and attentive every single employee was, always ready to help and truly embodying a five-star standard. This place perfectly blends luxury with comfort and is absolutely excellent value for money. I've already recommended it to friends, and it will definitely be my first choice next time I'm in town!

A beautiful hotel located in a fantastic place in Lijiang Old Town. The owner was very welcoming and on arrival let us leave our bags for us to explore the town and when we returned he welcomed us with his own Chinese tea. The room was great! Good size, very comfortable beds, warm, good shower and toilet too. It had a lovely courtyard view and window seat. The owner helped us and answered all of our questions through WeChat and let us leave our bags for our fins day. We would 100% recommend!

For its price, this hotel offers pretty good value for money. The facilities are a bit old but very clean, and it maintains the standards of a star-rated hotel. You can tell they put effort into managing and maintaining it, unlike some makeshift small hotels. The downsides are the poor soundproofing between rooms. The airplane noise, given its proximity to the airport, is acceptable, but the TV sound from the next room was a bit too loud.

AAnonymous UserI recently stayed at this brand-new hotel (opened in 2024), and it was such a nice experience. If you want a place with lots of extras, this is it. They have two pool tables, a small rooftop pool, and two gyms—one for yoga and Pilates with all the equipment, and another with treadmills, bikes, free weights, and even a Smith machine. There’s also a laundry room with washers, which was really handy.
The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, but you’ll want to arrive early to get the best selection. The staff were all very friendly, but Fei Xiu (绯袖) on WeChat was especially helpful—she answered all my questions quickly and made everything easy.
The location isn’t right on the riverbank near the Starlight Market, but it’s not far from tourist spots either. It’s actually in a good spot if you want a quieter stay while still being close enough to everything.
If you’re looking for a modern, well-equipped hotel with great service, I’d definitely recommend this one!

Excellent
UUlysess444The hotel's facilities and services are excellent, with many thoughtful details that really show they care about guests. The way to activate the power is unique; instead of inserting a card into a narrow slot, you place it on a tray with a groove at the bottom, which is much simpler, especially in dim lighting. There are plenty of hangers and various surfaces to place your belongings. The smart room control system is very user-friendly, allowing individual control of lights in different areas. The 'disposable' slippers are fantastic – clean, comfortable, and environmentally friendly. The room has a mix of wooden flooring and small area rugs, offering the comfort of a carpet while being easy to keep clean, which is much better than fully carpeted rooms. The toilet is the best I've encountered in a hotel; the heated seat is just the right temperature, not too hot, and the flush is quiet yet very effective. While the wide front of the seat and the automatic sensor for opening and closing the lid aren't groundbreaking features, they significantly enhance the user experience. The shower controls are a bit unique, with two separate switches for the handheld and overhead showerheads. This means you can't control water flow and temperature simultaneously, but you get used to it. If I had to pick a flaw, it would be the toilet paper – it lacks elasticity and tears easily.

GGuest UserI was so happy to stay at this guesthouse on my first night in Lijiang! The next morning, when I opened the curtains, I saw the 'Golden Mountain Bathed in Sunlight' – I felt so lucky! Being able to see the snow-capped mountains from my room was an amazing experience. It's been a long time since I've written a review, but this place genuinely made me want to give it a good one!
The view from the third floor is fantastic, and there's even a viewing deck. They've thoughtfully decorated so many spots that are perfect for photos. Since I was traveling alone, I asked the friendly staff at the front desk to help me take some pictures, and their photography skills were excellent.
A big part of my positive impression of Lijiang comes from this guesthouse. It's also very close to Baisha Ancient Town, within walking distance. Later, when I didn't have time to check out, the guesthouse staff helped me out a lot. All in all, I highly recommend this place if you're coming to Lijiang!!
HHafiz BajuriA Rustic Paradise with 100/10 Service! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our only regret about staying at this homestay is that we only booked for one night, we truly wish we could have stayed much longer! From start to finish, this was a 10/10 experience defined by genuine kindness and a stunning ”rustic farm” atmosphere.
The service is beyond exceptional! A massive shoutout to Xiao Gong, who was incredible from the very beginning. She coordinated with us via WeChat long before we even arrived, constantly checking in to ensure we were okay. Her English is excellent, and she went above and beyond to accommodate every single request with a smile.
We also want to give a special thank you to Ting Zeng, Gong Fu Yan, Ba Song, and Da Dong. This team is charming, professional, and extremely attentive. They handled our bags, guided us through the local customs, and their constant smiles made us feel so welcome. They truly give their all to ensure guests are happy.
We were also thrilled to be upgraded to a room with an even more spectacular view! The attention to detail is impressive:
The bed was perfect, and the heated floors were a lifesaver. They provide oxygen supplies, high-quality towels, humidifier, mini fridge, hair dryers, and full toiletry kits. The staff also took the time and extra mile to explain how to use all the equipment in detail, which was so helpful.
Overall, the property itself is a dream, a beautiful farm courtyard filled with horses, sheep, and yaks. It feels authentic and peaceful. On top of the gorgeous setting, the complimentary services were the cherry on top: Professional photography / Traditional tea sessions and afternoon coffee / A delicious breakfast & A thoughtful goodbye goody bag!
This place has heart and soul. If you are visiting Shangri-La, do yourself a favor and book more than two days here. We will definitely be back!
Once again, thank you team for the amazing hospitality and care to all your guests! Appreciate it so much! Recommended 💯💯💯
GGuest UserAlthough Xi Shuang Ban Na UrCove claims they are a smoke-free hotel, from what I have seen this is not really true. I suggest People who are allergic to cigarette smoke or have health issues related to cigarette smoke definitely go somewhere else. I saw guests as well as hotel employees openly smoking in the front lobby of this hotel. Front desk clerks and supervisor saw this but not only said nothing to the offenders but when I complained about this, the front desk clerk ignored me and glared at me for complaining.
Bedroom: very spacious and clean. beddings and sheets were very clean and comfortable.
Toilet: was a very new style and with a temperature toilet seat
Shower area: It was a disaster. The glass panel dividing the toilet and the shower area was poorly installed, so water from the shower area leaked everywhere. It was quite dangerous because the floor outside the shower was a smooth piece of floor tile. My wife almost slipped and fell down. We immediately told the front desk that night, and all they did was send someone to wipe up the water that's all. There was no follow-up after that.
Breakfast: This has got to be the worst hotel I have ever been to regarding breakfast. The majority of the breakfast items were Chinese food which I have no complaints about, although I do not eat Chinese breakfast. The biggest problem was, when we went for breakfast after 9:15 am there were lots of emptied food containers and plates which was used to hold breakfast food items. Breakfast was supposed to end at 10:00 am. 9:15 am NO croissant, Not even a simple slice of bread which I can make toast with. I also checked the Chinese food items and lots of containers were emptied as well. I then went to ask a staff where I could at least get a piece of bread. Her answer was, there isn't anymore sliced bread and what you see is what you get. There was hardly anything to eat?!?!?! I was furious and I demanded to have a couple of pieces of sliced bread. In the end, kitchen staff Mr. Wang came to my rescue and cooked me and my wife each two fried eggs. On top of it, Mr. Wang went out to get me sliced bread from outside the hotel so that my wife will at least have something to eat for breakfast. On the second day of breakfast, there was no coffee after 9:15 am as the coffee machine went into cleaning mode for at least half an hour. The chief of Chef did end up helping me to get a cup of coffee but from what I can see, this hotel is NOT ready to receive international guests.
Totally disappointed in the Urcove Xi Shuang Ban Na. Totally not the Hyatt standard at all. I really believe Hyatt management in Texas really should not take the risk of damaging their great brand by letting this hotel be branded with Hyatt's Name. The way this Xi Shuang Ban Na Urcove is operating, they are worse than locally managed/owned hotels.
OOlive GohWhen I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made.
The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car.
When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff.
The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion.
This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time!
One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay.
Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.
GGuest UserAmbiance: Tranquil and secluded, a unique Chinese aesthetic. The entire room was filled with the scent of aromatherapy incense, which was incredibly refreshing. I loved the citronella essential oil and bought over 1000 yuan worth, getting a 30% discount – quite a good deal.
Facilities: The open-air heated massage private onsen was fantastic. The room directly faced the 'Golden Mountain in Sunlight' view.
Service: Our butler, Luna, provided excellent service. She helped us book a photography session in advance, arranged our room, including housekeeping, answered all our questions, booked our airport transfer, and took care of little things like the 'Little Turtle' welcome gift and bottled water. Highly recommend! The turndown service was particularly special: on the first night, we had a rose milk foot bath in a copper basin, and on the second night, it was a coarse salt foot bath in a copper basin. Breakfast was also good and came with a scenic view.
One-way airport transfer between the hotel and Lijiang Sanyi Airport: The airport drop-off service was good.
One complimentary ethnic costume photography session (requires booking at least 1 day in advance): I had already taken photos in ******* and Yi costumes a few days prior, so here I tried on Miao ethnic clothing, which was another great experience of local culture. I didn't add any extra photos beyond the included five.
Seasonal welcome fruit: We received small fruit baskets on both days. In the evening, there were fresh juices and small cakes – red pitaya juice and orange juice. There was also a large cake in the fridge!
GGuest UserThe smart toilet actually needs to be connected to the Bluetooth of your mobile phone to use it! I have to think about how to flush my ****! The most important thing is that your hotel swimming pool does not release water during the National Day! I ordered you for 1060. The next day, I decisively booked Atour 950, which is more than 200 meters away from you. The environment is better than yours and the rooftop swimming pool is also very big! The service, hardware and software facilities are better than yours!
CChenxingyanjingI stayed here for 3 nights and overall, I was satisfied. The inn is located near Dali Ancient Town, about a 10-minute walk to Cangshan Gate. Parking is available along the roadside of the inn, but it requires some skilled driving, and if you return late, you might not find a spot. You can ask the innkeeper to reserve a parking space for you in advance. The inn's hygiene is excellent, with daily thorough cleaning. The inn has an artistic vibe, with a wall of books in the lobby. However, breakfast is fixed, only rice noodles (vegetarian), which I found a bit too salty, and the vegetables were a little old. On the upside, the barbecue recommended by the owner was fantastic, and you can order it online to be delivered to the inn. Also, the owner recommended a local restaurant that was very unique and reasonably priced. Some of the inn's facilities are a bit old, for example, the showerhead had inconsistent water flow and a slight leak. The owner is very nice and always helpful with any issues.
VVictoriaG1502The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to assist with any requests, which made the stay feel very comfortable and welcoming.
The room was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. I especially appreciated the cozy ambience and the attention to detail in the amenities provided. The bed was comfortable, and the overall environment felt relaxing and peaceful — perfect for a short getaway.
The facilities were also well-kept, and the dining experience was enjoyable. Everything was presented nicely and the quality met expectations. The location is convenient yet tucked away enough to feel like a quiet retreat from the busy city.
Overall, it was a pleasant and fuss-free stay. I would definitely consider returning and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing hotel experience.
