3-Star Hotels in Coimbra District, Portugal

The rooms are great, super clean, very comfortable beds, but as to the service you have much to desire, I was hosted two nights with my husband and my six-year-old daughter, at the time I made the reservation said I had a evocher, for two The only thing they told me was the breakfast payment. And my husband was sleeping with two, and they thought it was for my daughter, but not because I had taken her. The next day I returned because the receptionist told me that I had to pay the side of the coat and towels, for God's sake, I never saw this at any hotel. As for my daughter's breakfast, which was only one day, because the next day I was shortly in the breakfast room and I went to the official and told her that my six-year-old daughter would not have breakfast. I'm surprised when I'm going to check out they tell me I'm paying two breakfasts, and I said not because my six-year-old daughter had just taken breakfast one day, to what the official I had directed to me to say that my six-year-old daughter would not eat, he told me that I should have informed 24 hours before ...awhich I think it is shameful to be needed because it is not a cup of milk and a little cheese bread to be accounted for at the precedent. It is very sad that this situation is done to a six-year-old child, I never saw this in any hotel ...mas finally

I thought it was well in the center, it was a little farther, but it's very cheap from Uber or Bolt. Lunch is very good there. A cozy couple room with bathroom, air and TV. It's worth it.

I booked a group sales event. It was challenging bc I had to pre-pay for 1/2 of rooms with cash via a bank transfer. They would not accept credit cards. I asked what would happen if we had less attendees than I’d counted on. They told me not to worry, that I’d receive any reimbursement upon check out. I was owed over 1700 euro. I was NOT paid upon check out. Then I was told that I had to wait for the accounting team to return from holiday. I was not paid then. Then I was told I had to wait until the end of the month. I was also told if I had paid with a card that they would have already done it, (but they wouldn’t allow me to use a card!) As of today, I have not been paid. They also said that I needed to receive my reimbursement in a Portuguese account, despite accepting payment out of an American account. Luckily, I had one. Unluckily, they refused to accept my account info from the internet. So they made me drive to Coimbra to get bank credentials. (Then had another excuse not to pay me.) There have been big wildfires and I drove through one, trying to get to the bank. It was terrifying. It has been 3 weeks. At this point, my emails are not answered and it looks like I will have to sue. The accommodations are fine, but I would strongly recommend against using them for a big group, based on my experience. Waiting for people to return from their holiday to get paid money that is owed?? What??! I waited 3 weeks to write this review, to give them the benefit of the doubt. I’m very disappointed. Maybe this is just the way that people do business in Portugal? I don’t know know but it isn’t good. Seems very unprofessional to me. I will never book a big group with them again, nor with any other Ibis affiliate, based on this experience.

Charming. Yes, it is a little old fashioned but as it sails serenely towards its 100th birthday we found it a lovely antidote to the identikit modernity offered by so many tourist hotels. The location is just about perfect for travellers as it's only a few minutes walk from both the railway station and the main street. The staff are superb; welcoming and a very good source of information if required.

stay without anything outstanding, cleanliness ok from the rooms to the hotel in general, all the staff are friendly and attentive, breakfast is also acceptable and sufficient. Parking in the area is a little complicated and sometimes quite difficult.

The hotel is in the city center, within walking distance to the monastery, city hall, there are supermarkets and restaurants nearby, life is very convenient. Parking is free in the public underground parking lot not far away, very good. The breakfast tastes good.

I cannot overstate how wonderful it was to stay at this charming hotel. The staff, in particular, were terrific. They went above and beyond in every conceivable way. The breakfast was gourmet, our small apartment was comfortable and clean, and since we were there for a full week, they even did our laundry for us as needed. One of my suitcases was so heavy that we couldn't carry it up the two flights to our apartment but they took care of that. One staff member even helped with the proof-reading and editing of a narrative I needed to deliver in Portuguese. For those who are not keen on huge hotels, this is a perfect choice.

On a busy street that feeds one of the main bridges over the Modego River, the hotel is at first intimidating to locate & park at, and unloading luggage. Once inside, the rooms are standard EU class but it is the staff that made the difference for us. Isabel in particular was extremely friendly and helpful with advice- free parking at several spots, free shuttle van, possibly the nicest laundromat in the world (!), and restaurant options. She and the staff were tremendous, so I would recommend a stay there on tour of Portugal. Cheers.

We had a family suite here, overlooking the river. The room was large and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom looked to be new and well equipped. The desk staff are friendly, helpful and speak English. There is daily service for the rooms. Parking is very close, cheap and safe. The added bonuses of staying here are a shared kitchen with a small, delightful rooftop terrace and a larger terrace on the first floor. Walking over the bridge to the main pedestrian street takes less than 5 minutes. The Santa Clara neighborhood is quiet with a number of restaurants. A large supermarket is about a ten minute walk away from town. NOTE - it is difficult to find the building coming in off the highway. It is and the end of the block with no clear identification by the door. The name is on the river side. You need to drive over a sidewalk from the main road as the short street is quite easy to miss. This place is a real find, so glad we stayed here!

As I checked in late and tired, the friendly staff offering me an ice cold beer was a nice start. The fact that the room was a windowless box made me a little uneasy at first, although I am not claustrophobic, but I was relieved by the good lighting and the rain shower. The hotel is really a must-experience and appeals more to young guests with its more affordable price compared to others. The only negative point was that it wasn't clean enough, the sheet metal on the bed and dust on the floor prevented the perfect experience.

The room furnishings are very clean, the details have been studied well. It is a good idea to hide the bathroom inside a box, comfortable location two steps from the center, you can reach it through the bridge. For those who arrive in the car there are some places right in front of the facility, or a large parking right behind the corner (both payable). If check in self-service can look comfortable on the one hand, it is very impersonal on the other. Since you have never seen anyone in the structure, any communication has been required to use your phone or email address. The cleaning in the bathroom is improved, although it is nice to leave guests available in a beautiful bottle of liqueur, it would be better for hygiene reasons that it was in a container still sealed. Quality price ratio very advantageous.

Hotel with large and very clean facilities , but with old facilities .

This hotel is in a very good location and is very clean. We ended up staying 2 weeks because this hotel is in close proximity to the place I had business to conduct. However, if you like to avoid bumping into your luggage when walking in the room I'd advise perhaps another hotel because the room we stayed at was nice and clean but really small. I may be wrong but juddging from the plan on the wall, all rooms seemed to be small. There was zero place to put the luggage. We had to leave it on the floor against the wall and be careful when walking or else we'd bump into the luggage. Like all hotels around, there is no parking but close to this hotel, you may be able to find free parking. We did for the whole time we stayed there and that is mostly why we decided not to move the luggage around to another hotel. Originally, I wanted to travel to other locations (rented a car) but the business I had to do postponed the appointments and we extended the stay here. If you somehow find yourself in a similar situation do yourself a favor by going online and purchase your extended stay online because if, like I did (for 2 night only) go to the front desk and ask for an extension, they ding you right there. I kid you not we paid 30 euros more for EACH of the 2 nights we extended and for the same room. Right after, I found that I needed yet to stay longer, then, went online and booked the same room for 30 euros per night less than I paid at the front desk. Overall was a good stay even though the breakfast, in my view, should include some regional sweets. If you travel by car do a search because some hotels we stayed at do offer that.

Good location near the beach with sandy pitches but all pretty flat and solid but some may have issue with the lack of trees to provide shade. Very impressed with the ample modern amenities which were kept immaculately clean. Usual Orbitur benefit of toilet paper, hand soap and paper towels….little things make all the difference. The pool area was superb with the usual Orbitur “proper” sized pool (little on the cool side at 18 degrees) together with a separate paddling pool and sun beds and umbrellas for shade. There is a small shop and cafe/restaurant area so you get all the usual Orbitur benefits but we reckon this is one of the best.

The lady...is a Lady and she was kind attentive generous and I felt completely welcomed...it was as if I was staying at a living relative. Although the room was small the bathroom was ample. The room gad a query nook area by one of the two window areas...the view of the water was calming and simple, I could hear the birds in the shady trees outside my tall romantic window setting. The whole place was spotless and fresh smelling ...the bed comfortable. All looked new. It was near to everything. If I have to want anything it is a disposable shower cap. She allowed me to take her tea-Kettle to my room for my convenience which added to my comfort. Although we did not speak the same language we understood each other. I would love to return again soon.
