I stayed at Suzhou Pan Pacific Hotel had a mixed experience.
Pros:
The hotel has a park-style setting with lots of greenery. The environment is very pleasant and the air feels fresh, making it a relaxing place to stay.
Cleanliness is also a strong point — you can see staff constantly maintaining the hotel, and everything is kept neat and tidy.
Cons:
The location is not very convenient. It takes about 20 minutes by car to reach most attractions, and since it is in an older area, there isn’t much to explore nearby. You will need to rely on taxis most of the time.
Another issue is the lack of privacy. During my stay, staff knocked on my door around noon to ask about housekeeping. On the second day, around 12:30 PM, someone even came to ask if I was checking out. This felt intrusive, and I have not experienced this in other hotels.
Lastly, borrowing items like umbrellas (RMB 20 deposit) and international adapters (RMB 30 deposit) requires a deposit. The staff even delivered the items to the room and collected the payment on the spot, which felt a bit unprofessional.
Overall:
A good choice if you value a peaceful environment and greenery, but if location convenience and privacy are important to you, you may want to reconsider.

The location is absolutely fantastic! It's right on Chengxian Street in Xuanwu District, just a few minutes' walk to Fupiao Metro Station. It's super close to the Presidential Palace, Jiming Temple, and Southeast University, and there are tons of great food options nearby, making it incredibly convenient for exploring and dining. The room was clean and comfortable, the bedding was soft, and the bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, ensuring a relaxing stay. The front desk service was especially attentive and even provided tips for local attractions. The value for money is outstanding, and I'll definitely stay here again next time!

Staying at Yangzhou Yingbinguan, I felt the full romance of a spring day in Jiangnan ✨.
I took my mom on a trip to Yangzhou and was instantly smitten with Yangzhou Yingbinguan! From check-in to check-out, every detail perfectly hit the mark for aesthetics and comfort. Half of the joy of this trip came from this amazing hotel!
🏡 Living in a Jiangnan Garden, every step is a poem.
The entire complex is a massive traditional Chinese garden, with pavilions, towers, small bridges over flowing water, and rockeries. In spring, cherry blossoms and crabapples are in full bloom, and black swans gracefully swim on the lake. Even the air is filled with the fragrant scent of plants and trees.
We stayed in Building 11, and the hotel thoughtfully prepared welcome gifts: 'Mi San Dao', 'Xiao Mabing', and 'Niupi Tang' from Qilin Pavilion, along with specialty pastries embossed with 'Yangzhou'. The room facilities were also very new.
Shuttle carts were available on call throughout the park, making it super convenient to get from our room to Quyuan or other places. It was so thoughtful for traveling with seniors, as they didn't have to walk too much!
📸 Hanfu Styling, bringing the spring vibe to life.
The package included a Hanfu photoshoot, located on the first floor of Building 11. There were dozens of Hanfu styles, and the free options were quite good. If you preferred, paid options were an additional 100 RMB.
We also added makeup and styling for 100 RMB per person. The makeup artist was excellent; even with many guests waiting, she was very dedicated. The photographer was also great, skilled at guiding poses. My mom's photos turned out gentle and elegant! We received 5 free lightly retouched photos, and additional retouches were only 20 RMB/photo, which was good value for money.
🍜 Quyuan, a Black Pearl Restaurant.
Quyuan Teahouse, a Black Pearl 1-diamond restaurant, is conveniently located right within Yingbinguan, meaning you don't have to leave the hotel to experience it! It does get very busy, so it's a good idea to get a number in advance and then explore nearby. The hotel's own breakfast was also excellent.
🚶♀️ Direct Access to Slender West Lake, no queuing is a blessing!
On the second day, to visit Slender West Lake, the hotel has an exclusive fast lane! No need to wait in long queues at the scenic area entrance; you can enter directly from the hotel grounds. This was truly stress-free for traveling with seniors (normal admission tickets are still required).
The hotel garden seamlessly connects to Slender West Lake. In spring, Slender West Lake is vibrant with green willows and colorful flowers, with beautiful scenery at every turn.
🎭 Intangible Cultural Heritage Mini-Theater, an immersive experience of Yangzhou folk customs.
During the holidays, the hotel arranged an 'Intangible Cultural Heritage Mini-Theater', which truly amazed us! Yangzhou puppet shows, Yangzhou Qingqu opera, and Yangzhou Pinghua storytelling were performed in rotation. The performers were all professional, and acts like puppet calligraphy and pipa serenades were full of Yangzhou charm.
This trip to Yangzhou, Yangzhou Yingbinguan truly gave us so many surprises. From the garden landscape and thoughtful service to the delicious food and intangible cultural heritage experiences, all the beauty of Yangzhou was concentrated here.
When traveling with your mom, choosing the right hotel is so important! Next time I come to Yangzhou, I will definitely stay here again!

I stayed for two consecutive days. Before checking out, I deliberately took a picture of the entrance. For someone who easily gets lost, recognizing the sign in front of the door is very important.
I checked in with my elderly family members, and they spontaneously praised the owner, especially the sensible younger brother. Harmony brings wealth, and may your business flourish!

The front desk staff were very welcoming; they let me choose my own room during check-in and also granted a late check-out when I left. The hotel's location is perfect, right by Lao Dong Men, with plenty of food and shopping options nearby – I was very satisfied. My only minor complaint is a slight sewage smell in the bathroom.

This hotel was my base for a trip to Nanjing. First, the good points: it’s relatively inexpensive, in a great location, and the service is good. It’s convenient for attractions like the Confucius Temple and the subway station, and Old East Gate is just a 500-meter walk away.
Now for the downsides: firstly, there’s no elevator, which would be a real struggle if you have large luggage or are elderly. Secondly, the room facilities are quite old, the soundproofing isn't great, and there isn't much space to put your belongings. The smart toilet isn't all that smart, either. 😂
Housekeeping was quite diligent, but I'm not sure why they took my toothbrush and toothpaste from the cup – I didn't even leave them on the table!
Overall, if you prioritize value for money and location, this place is pretty good.

The hotel's location is fantastic, super convenient for shopping and dining. While the facilities are a bit dated, all the staff are incredibly proactive and enthusiastic. The rooms are spotless. Amy Zhang from customer service even noticed we had a child and proactively offered a kids' care set, slippers, and a toy. We had a lot of luggage for our international trip, and the concierge team was incredibly helpful throughout the check-in and check-out process, assisting us with our bags. Overall, a great stay! Highly recommend.

A special thanks to the front desk duty manager, Qingting! When I checked in, she proactively informed me about the different room types, allowing me to choose the one I preferred. I'm also very grateful to her because I was traveling with family in Suzhou, and after a long day of sightseeing, I was quite tired. She, being such a thoughtful young lady, immediately noticed my struggles. Even when I returned late at night – Suzhou doesn't really have much nightlife – she still cared enough to ask if I was hungry and if I needed her to cook me some noodles. It was incredibly thoughtful and touching. The service here is excellent, especially from Qingting and Huahai. It was a truly worthwhile trip, and Suzhou is indeed beautiful. If I get the chance, I'd love to come back many times and I'll definitely choose to stay here again. It's fantastic!
A well-located hotel that’s easy to access key areas. The Western-style buffet breakfast was decent and sufficient to start the day. The room stood out for its high-tech features, which made the stay more comfortable and convenient. Overall, a good stay with a nice balance of comfort and location. And the small gift is a nice touch.
The room has a separate wet and dry area, it's clean, and the new hotel environment is quite good. The staff at the front desk, both the ladies and gentlemen, are very enthusiastic, quick to solve problems, and helped with our luggage. We'll definitely choose this hotel when we come to Nanjing again. We wished we could have stayed longer!

CChuntianrannaifenBooked this place for a business trip to Nanjing and was pleasantly surprised. The room was very spacious, with a large bay window offering excellent natural light. The breakfast spread was extensive, and the shredded radish pancake was absolutely delicious! The lounge on the first floor was also very convenient for business meetings. My foreign colleague traveling with me also spoke highly of it. If I return to Nanjing, I would certainly choose to stay here again.
GGallleyaThis is the best hotel we stayed in during our trip to China. We lived in a separate house. It's quiet and cozy there. The air conditioner works well for heating.
The hostess is very friendly and kind. When we got lost during check-in, she herself came for us. Also thanks to the man who helped us when leaving the hotel.
Comfortable bathroom, good beds, spacious room. I highly recommend it!
KKok Hong GanI had a wonderful stay at this homestay at 平江路. The location is very strategic, with easy access to many attractions, shops, and food spots, making it very convenient to explore the area.
The place itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which made the whole stay smooth and enjoyable.
What truly stood out was the exceptional service. I accidentally left my phone in a taxi, and the host went above and beyond to help me. They quickly coordinated with the driver and handled everything until my phone was safely returned.
I really appreciate the extra effort and care, it made a stressful situation so much easier. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful host!

PPangdundunerThis guesthouse is really good. It's located just around the corner from a side alley leading directly to Laomendong, so you can easily find recommended fried pork ribs to eat. The owner is very welcoming; after we checked in, he immediately took us to our room, thoughtfully helping with our luggage and turning on the air conditioning. There's also an adorable, chubby, and super friendly Corgi at the guesthouse! Breakfast is included, with one portion per person, and you can ask for more if needed. It includes porridge, eggs, and various small pastries, all of which are excellent!
HHan - JunThe hotel is new and very clean. The front desk staff are friendly and always willing to help, even though I’m a foreign traveler.
The location is truly excellent. The hotel is right in the Pingjiang Road area—one of the most beautiful and famous ancient streets in Suzhou. Just step outside and you can enjoy a relaxing walk along the canals, admire traditional houses, and explore charming cafés and small local shops. It’s also about 3 km from Shantang Road, around a 15-minute taxi ride.
At night, the area lights up beautifully, creating a very charming atmosphere.

GGuest UserI booked Hanyuan because it is within walking distance to my folks home. And my grandma used to work at Nanjing Agricultural University, which the hotel is affiliated with. I read others’ reviews and knew it is an old facility. I did not have unrealistic expectations.
We arrived late at night. Taxi driver dropped us off at the side entrance that has numerous stairs to the door. We had lots of luggage. As we got out of the cab, we saw some staff member in the lobby looking out. Instead of coming out to help us, he walked away. My husband, myself and our seven year old all carried/dragged multiple items up the stairs to get into the hotel lobby.
We checked in and decided that we would need to add a bed for the kid. House keeping came quickly to set up the bed but was reluctant to provide pillows for the additional bed. I had to repeatedly ask before they agreed to bring an extra pillow. Don’t understand why there is such resistance to equip the additional bed with pillow- after all, we did pay for the additional bed.
Everything else was pretty good during our first three-day-stay. We then went away to visit families elsewhere for a week before coming back to this hotel.
This time, our car drove onto the ramp at the front entrance. As soon as we entered the building, lobby manager came to offer us help. He helped us deliver luggage to our room. We are very appreciative of his assistance.
We ran into some issues at the front desk this time. They asked for our passports again and took our pictures for a second time. When I mentioned that we were just here a week ago and all information was taken already, we were told that all information has been erased as we checked out. When we checked in/out the first time, we informed front desk that we were making the hotel our base camp and will be coming in and out a few times. It’s strange that they would delete our information and redo everything all over again.
Again we need to add a bed. House keeping brought a roller bed which has a stained mattress pad. I asked them to bring a clean one, they said they could not. They said they didn’t have any clean pads. They said the only option is to remove the pad and put the sheets directly on the mattress. They further suggested that since the sheet is clean, dirty pad doesn’t matter and that every mattress pad under bed sheets has urine stains. His words made my stomach turn but I was too tired to fight so they went ahead put sheets on top of the mattress pad that has a big yellow stain. Again I asked for pillows for the additional bed, they refused at first, upon my insistence, they agreed to bring pillows. They also took out a blanket from the cabinets under television and put it on the bed.
When the seven year old was ready for bed, I opened the blanket and realized it’s cover is dirty. It’s dusty and has multiple stings of hair on it. I called house keeping, a lady quickly bought over a clean duvet cover for the blanket but refused to take away the dirty one. She insisted that we keep the dirty duvet in the closet. I did not understand her rationale but there isn’t anything I can do. So that dirty duvet cover stayed in the closet.
Maybe I should not have come back to this hotel.

GGuest UserThis was a unique trip, and I'm so glad I found 'Xiying' in Nanjing. I met interesting fellow travelers and enjoyed comfortable sleep here.
Facilities: The huge open-air observation deck was exactly like the photos (I imagine it would be even more fun in summer 🤔).
Cleanliness: Clean and tidy.
Service: The front desk staff was a fun person (hahahaha).
With a gentle spring breeze, goodbye Xiying, until we meet again.
