Traveling solo in Kunming, my stay at Old Big Foot International Youth Hostel completely exceeded my expectations – it's truly an ideal haven for backpackers! The location is absolutely unbeatable. Just a few steps out the door is Zhuanxin market, where I could get everything from tofu rice noodles and Dai-style snacks to fresh fruit in one go. It's also not far from the subway station, making it super easy to get to all the major attractions around the city. The hostel itself has a courtyard bursting with bougainvillea, and you'll find traveler messages and map check-in walls everywhere. The downstairs bar is perfect for sunbathing during the day, and for listening to music and chatting at night, sometimes with guests playing guitar – it's such a gentle and therapeutic atmosphere. The accommodation details are incredibly thoughtful. Every bed has a full blackout curtain, creating a private little space when drawn. The bedding was clean and odorless, there was 24-hour hot water, and the cleaning staff tidied regularly, so the bathrooms were completely free of any smells. They provide lockable lockers and self-service washer and dryer machines, so no worries about valuables or laundry. The front desk staff were incredibly patient, offering detailed recommendations for local tours and free luggage storage. Their 24-hour presence made me, as a solo female traveler, feel completely safe. It's really easy to meet like-minded travel companions here. There are plenty of activities like billiards, movie nights, and city walks, so you never have to worry about feeling lonely. The prices are affordable, the facilities are comprehensive, and the atmosphere is warm. It's perfect whether you're staying for a short visit or just passing through. I wholeheartedly recommend it to solo travelers who enjoy a lively, authentic vibe!

The room was very clean and exactly as pictured. The soaking tub was huge, easily fitting four people, but it takes a while to fill up. If you want a bath, definitely start filling it an hour beforehand. The location is super convenient; there are shared electric scooters right downstairs, which my kids loved, making it easy to get anywhere. The two ladies at the front desk were so thoughtful and attentive. They proactively offered welcome fruit, asked if we needed more drinking water, and the morning coffee ☕ was great – it really helped me survive after staying up late the night before 😂. The night shift lady even thoughtfully helped arrange the flowers I bought from Dounan Flower Market in a clean vase in the room, which really brightened my mood ☺. The recommended restaurants were also excellent; we tried them out, but sadly, our stomachs weren't big enough to eat too much. Just a small suggestion: it would be even better if there was an outdoor area to hang clothes to dry.

Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find our room upgraded to a family room since we had a child with us. It was lovely, and both my child and I adored it! The laundry service was exceptional; they washed, folded, and returned our clothes to the room promptly. When my child accidentally spilled water, an attendant immediately came to clean it up. Breakfast was also incredibly delicious. This hotel is truly thoughtful! The evening front desk staff and Delu (presumably a staff member or service) introduced us to their late-night congee service, which was both comforting and heartwarming. The air conditioning was powerful, the elevators were fast, the scent was pleasant, laundry and drying facilities were convenient, the TV was high-definition, and parking was super easy. We had a comfortable and worry-free stay!

My bathtub room was super therapeutic – after a long day of exploring, a soak in the copper tub was pure bliss. It's conveniently located near Cuihu Lake, Culture Alley, and Wenlin Street. Plus, it's just an 800-meter walk to Metro Line 3, making it incredibly comfortable for a city walk in Kunming. Most importantly, it's pet-friendly! Bringing your furry friends is totally fine, with just a 50 RMB deposit that's fully refundable upon check-out if there's no damage.

The lobby is clean and elegant, with a refreshing and comfortable ambiance. The front desk staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Check-in and check-out are quick and efficient, and they're very responsive, patiently answering any questions. The service experience is top-notch. The room itself is spotless and odor-free, with thorough cleaning. The bedding is soft, skin-friendly, clean, and fluffy. The mattress is just right – not too soft, not too firm – ensuring a great night's sleep without discomfort even after prolonged sitting or lying down. The bathroom features a wet/dry separation, all necessary toiletries are provided, and the hot water supply is stable with a consistent flow.

Everything is fine! ! The hotel I have stayed in is the most cost-effective, and the front desk lady (seems to be the manager) is beautiful and capable and warm! ! The room is very large and the decoration materials are particularly good!

The room is quite spacious and comfortable. I was satisfied with the cleanliness. They offer a washing machine and dryer, though the dryer isn't very powerful, so it takes a while. Breakfast isn't included, but if you buy it at the front desk, it's cheaper than online. The breakfast itself is decent with a good variety, though the milk tasted a bit watered down. The hotel's location is excellent; it's right outside a Line 3 subway station, and Cuihu Lake is only about a 30-minute walk away. There's a Walmart next to the hotel and plenty of snack bars in the area.

The room was clean and tidy. The staff at the front desk were very welcoming and even prepared slippers and toothbrushes for the kids. We got a free room upgrade, which made our stay very comfortable. The children loved it, especially the pond with little fish in the backyard.
