Absolutely great value for money! The location is incredibly convenient, very close to Kunming Railway Station, and within walking distance. There are plenty of dining options and car rental services nearby, with parking available right downstairs. The hotel's environment and service are also excellent. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Moonlight Courtyard Hotel in Kunming. The hotel has such a charming atmosphere and the location was also quite convenient for exploring Kunming. The room was comfortable, clean and thoughtfully designed, and the overall ambience of the property made our stay feel cosy. The staff were warm, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, which made the experience even better. We really enjoyed our time here and would happily recommend Moonlight Courtyard Hotel to anyone looking for somewhere charming, comfortable and well located in Kunming.

My stay was excellent! The hotel's location is superb, making transportation incredibly convenient, and there are plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. The staff were warm, friendly, and patient in answering any questions I had. The room was spotlessly clean, and all the facilities were in perfect condition, making for a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Overall, I had a great experience and felt it was good value for money. It’s an ideal choice for travel, and I would definitely choose to stay here again if I have the chance.

Very close to Kunming Station, you can walk there! The staff were also very enthusiastic. The room was a bit compact, and the breakfast was quite tasty. The only downsides were the serious traffic congestion at the entrance, the loud honking at night, and a slight smell of renovation.

GreenTree Inn offers a fresh and tranquil environment with impeccable cleanliness. The service is proactive and attentive, and the facilities are well-maintained. It's conveniently located right across from Kunming Station, making travel easy and stress-free. They also have a self-service laundry room, a gym, complimentary tea at the front desk, and a delicious, diverse halal breakfast.

Another cute, hidden gem. Tucked away in Nanping Pedestrian Street, so they come out to meet you after taxi drops you off and help you and your luggage in. I had booked this as a surprise ending to our 5th Anniversary, 30 days through China trip. They did a wonderful job specializing the room. The bed art was so cute that we joked about leaving it and sleeping on the sofa! The only thing missing is a mini fridge. Everything else in the room was just perfect. More than enough room for 2 people. Easy walking distance to food and shopping. In fact, across the street there is a huge shopping complex with many malls. The front desk staff did a wonderful job of trying to help us. One of the wheels on our suitcase broke on the way. He first called around to find a repair shop. Then called a luggage vendor in the mall to see if anyone could help. This was another location that had a beautiful rooftop location where we could sit, play cards, enjoy the night lights while doing our laundry. Unfortunately, we only spent 1 night here, but we would return again to do more exploring.

This is the first time I've ever written such a positive review for a hotel, and for good reason! Firstly, the hotel's service was truly exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Secondly, the value for money was outstanding! For such an affordable price, the cleanliness was impeccable. I've traveled from Dali to Lijiang, then to Shangri-La, and now Kunming, and this is by far the best hotel I've stayed in. From a 5k-a-night Club Med in Lijiang to luxury wild hotels in Shangri-La, none have offered the level of cleanliness and comfortable service that this place did. I just quickly booked it on Ctrip after getting off the high-speed train, and I never expected such a delightful stay. Thirdly, I believe cleanliness is the most important factor when choosing a hotel, and this place truly excels. The comfortable bedding, along with the convenient wireless charging dock in the room and the XiaoDu AI speaker, were fantastic amenities. The hotel also offers breakfast. In short, I highly, highly recommend this hotel, especially for travelers arriving from Kunming Station! Super satisfied! The separate wet/dry bathroom was impeccably clean, the Wi-Fi speed was excellent, and the service was polite and attentive. It's less than a 5-minute walk from the train station, which is super convenient whether you're traveling for leisure or business.

An established five-star hotel with surprisingly great value for money! We happened to check in when rooms were scarce, and they kindly upgraded our room for free. The room had an expansive view, which immediately enhanced our experience. The service was attentive and meticulous throughout our stay. It truly lives up to its reputation as a long-standing, well-regarded establishment. Definitely worth a return visit.

The Ibis Hotel Kunming Railway Station is a solid base for 1–2 nights because it lets you experience Kunming without paying city-centre boutique hotel prices: the surrounding area is busy and functional rather than scenic, but it’s safe, lively and full of inexpensive local eateries and convenience stores that stay open late. Besides the transport advantages (airport access, Kunming Railway Station and metro connections to Kunming South Railway Station), you’re only about 15–20 minutes by taxi or metro from attractions such as Green Lake Park and Kunming Old Street, making it easy to fit in some sightseeing before heading to Dali or Lijiang. The rooms are compact but generally quiet, with self-service laundry that many long-term travellers appreciate, and if you’re visiting during the rainy season, bringing a light umbrella is more useful than packing heavy clothing because Kunming’s climate is famously mild. The only real drawback is that the neighbourhood lacks the charm of the old town areas, but for convenience, value and smooth onward travel through Yunnan, it’s hard to beat.
