I had a pleasant stay at Sheraton Grand Taipei. The staff were very professional and spoke English well, which made communication smooth. There is a convenient luggage storage service available, which was a big help.
The room was clean and well-equipped with essentials such as a hairdryer, drinking glasses, dishes, and complimentary bottled water. However, one point to note is that the lower floor houses the main restaurant, and during lunchtime, the area gets quite busy with tour groups and other guests. As a result, food smells can linger in the elevators and even stick to your clothes when walking past. It would be great if the hotel provided air freshener spray in the room to help with this.
The location is excellent, just one stop from Taipei Main Station and within walking distance to the NanXi shopping area, making it extremely convenient for both travel and leisure.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Sheraton Grand Taipei for its great location, attentive service, and comfortable stayFromDKK 1,097

Wonderful service with very friendly and helpful staff.
The view is great, but unfortunately we couldn’t fully enjoy it due to cloudy weather. Otherwise, we would likely have caught the sunrise. The location is convenient if you’re taking public transport.
We drove instead, and the car park was quite difficult to navigate. It required a sharp right U-turn, and Google Maps kept re-routing us. That said, the staff were extremely helpful and even accompanied us to show us the correct way.
The hotel is clean, but we noticed some cooking smells in the morning and a sewage smell late at night. The staff promptly provided an air purifier, and the situation improved after a while.FromDKK 465

The hotel was spacious. However, the cleanliness of the room can be improved. Furthermore, it was really unacceptable that the table beside the bed had a bible book. It really creeps us out and there were even knocking sounds on the wall. Hope the management will read this and sort this out.FromDKK 792

Great location and services. The room was large, clean, and the Taipei 101 view was stunning. The only thing that could be improved is the hair dryer, which felt quite old-fashioned. It would be nice if the hotel could replace it.FromDKK 1,522

The hotel is right next to Taipei Main Station (Exit M3), just a 1-minute walk away. The décor has a slightly vintage style, but the services are excellent. Each room comes with a personal AI box where you can check promotions, food spots, transportation info, or even play music. We also received coffee vouchers that can be redeemed at the 17 Café on the first floor , the coffee was great.
The room is compact but comfortable and clean. Adjusting the hot and cold water, as well as the A/C, can be a bit tricky, but it’s not a big issue. There are convenience stores right next to the hotel, both 7-Eleven and FamilyMart. Highly recommended for travelers looking for a hotel just a short walk from the station.FromDKK 676

I had stayed in a different Green World with decent experience. But this place had rather snarky service staff which threw me off because I always had good customer service in Taiwan. The lobby and entrance is also shady like a backdoor. The soundproofing was terrible. The room next door is separated from me by a false wall so I could hear the baby crying and the family in it having a three generation discussion. I won't want to come back.
The saving grace is the toilet which is quite huge and ironically, better sound insulated from the room than the next door is to mine.FromDKK 399

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with modern amenities and a cozy atmosphere. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of delicious food, and the restaurant’s service was top-notch. The location is also perfect — close to major attractions, restaurants, and transportation. I especially appreciated the small touches, like the welcome drink and daily housekeeping. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations and provided a relaxing, enjoyable experience. Choosing hotels for my Taiwan trip took nearly a week because I can be quite picky about accommodations. ILLUME turned out to be the perfect choice, meeting all my priorities.
From the moment I dropped off my luggage in the elegant lobby, I felt welcomed. The staff was friendly and even accommodated my request for an early check-in, allowing me to settle in two hours ahead of the standard 4 PM check-in time.
I was assigned a room next to the sauna and steam room, which I appreciated for its convenience. However, there were some noises in the evening from nearby banquet events and guests doing laundry, but as someone who tends to stay up late, it didn't bother me at all.
The gym is shared and well-equipped, typically not crowded except during peak hours when fitness classes draw in more guests. My room was clean and received daily housekeeping, although there were a couple of times when the cups weren't cleaned. I understand they might have thought I was still using them, so no complaints there.
It’s also worth noting that there’s a 7-11 convenience store just downstairs, connected directly to the hotel lobby, where they sell Taiwan's famous branded cakes like 太陽餅 and 鳳梨蘇. Plus, there are numerous buses nearby, making transportation super convenient—I didn’t even need to rely on the subway!
I really enjoyed the air conditioning—it was cool enough for a comfortable night’s sleep. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and will definitely return without hesitation!FromDKK 488

It took me a few attempts to finally book this hotel. In the past, whenever I visited Taiwan, I'd always opt for the livelier Ximending area. This time, I stayed at the Grand Hotel, a grand and magnificent building with warm and attentive service. I toured the East and West Secret Passages and tried the red bean rice cake. From the hotel's back garden, you can even see Taipei 101. I really love it here.FromDKK 579

Overall a pleasant stay. Staff are polite and pleasant, the dried tomatoes at L5 is good. 😊 only hair dryer, handwash, body wash and 2in1 shampoo/conditioner provided in room so be sure so bring your other toiletries if you need!
Pros 😊
- fuss free check in (room was ready ahead of check in time so recep let us in)
- water dispenser avail (don’t have to buy your water) and 2 bottles in room daily
- small area at L5 for you to relax at with some snacks and drinks (great if you’re having a late flight and need somewhere to rest after checking out, or if you arrive early before check in)
- easy walk to xmd
- bus stop outside with buses that gets you to most places
Cons 😞
- poor sound proofing (can hear kids running down the rooms, people chatting outside, opening/closing of doors)
- room not super conducive for light sleepers. E.g there is gap between the pelmet and curtain so once the sun rises, the light will shine into the room, your room will not be in the complete black-out state. Can bring an eye mask to help with this!
- very basic room amenities.
- slightly steep price given how basic and no-frills this hotel is.FromDKK 784

The location is very convenient, being close to Ximending and other MRT stations, making it really easy to get around. However, the Wi-Fi is really, really slow, and one of the lifts is currently out of order. What's more, when you're waiting, you have no idea which floor it's coming from, which is rather frustrating. Apart from that, it's a decent enough place to stayFromDKK 281

Service:
Front counter service was very impersonal. Didn't like the idea of them giving us a list of instructions/conditions upon check-in and one of it states that we had to check out on time or be charged NTD300 per hour after the check-out deadline. Having said this, I must commend the elderly gentleman who was in charge of the luggage. He saw us approaching at the end of a long day and immediately pressed the lift button for us. Although it was a small gesture, we really appreciated it. Housekeeping personnel, too, was very quick and responsive.
Room:
Size was spacious, but the bed was uncomfortably firm. The room on the whole looked dated. I got a room that had no windows. Thought it would be ok to stay in a room without a window, but 3 nights was too long, and I didn't like waking up to not knowing what the weather condition was like outside. So, just a point to consider if you want to pick the window-less room.
Prior to East Dragon, I was staying at another smaller hotel near Taipei main station, and the experience was the complete opposite of this hotel. The front desk personnel was very warm, the bed was super comfortable, and it had free-flow of snacks and drinks in their common dining area. They also entertained late check-outs. At the end of the day, it felt like we were coming home after a tiring day. Sadly, we did not get this experience with East Dragon.
Location:
At the fringe of XMD and a short distance to Ximen MRT. However, if u want to do day trips around Taipei via public transport, staying near Taipei Main Station was more convenient.
In short, would I stay at this hotel again? I doubt it. For the same price, I'd definitely pick the other smaller hotel as I truly enjoyed my stay there.FromDKK 347

I had a wonderful stay at the Renaissance Taipei Shihlin Hotel. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with well-maintained amenities that made my stay relaxing. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any request.

I chose the Howard Plaza Hotel for my conference, as the venue was at the Taipei International Convention Center, right next to 101. Personally, I had a good experience. Although it's an 8-9 minute walk to the MRT station, it's only two stops away from the convention center. The hotel's facilities are a bit older overall, but there were no issues with the experience itself.FromDKK 728

I recently stayed at the Beitou Hot Spring Resort in Taipei and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The facilities are outstanding, especially the sauna and hot spring baths, which provided a perfect way to relax and unwind. The sauna was well-maintained and offered a soothing atmosphere, while the hot spring baths were a true highlight, with clean, rejuvenating water that felt amazing.
The room was spacious and comfortable, providing a serene retreat after a day of exploring. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that all my needs were met.

The room is very spacious with Japanese style of sitting area of chit chat. The private hot spring inside the room is cool as well as the outdoor public hot spring is a different experience. Do take note to bring along your swimming costume to enter the outdoor public. The amenities in the hotel is nice and clean.
There isn’t much choice for dinner at the hotel as there is only 1 Japanese restaurant serving the food. The food is slightly on the high side but the taste is delicious.
The breakfast area is decent with many variety of food.
There is a convenience store nearby which require about 15 mins walk downhill and it’s pretty dark especially at night. Good for staying to enjoy the hot spring and pamper yourself.FromDKK 706

The hotel is very conveniently located right next to the Beitou Park, Public Library, Hotspring Museum etc. Super easy walk from Xinbeitou MRT station. Lots of food and supermarket nearby. The building is clearly dated, rooms probably need a bit of renovation but they have all the basic supplies. The hot thermal spring water bathtub is lovely and relaxing - just make sure you’re aware of the sulphur smell! The light switches in the room did not match the functions and some bulbs flickered a bit. The shower is for squatting or you have to use the showerhead when you stand. Free snacks in the room are a nice touch. We did not use the public spring services, just the private room. It was relaxing!FromDKK 779

A few things in the hotel made me feel a little in Japan instead of Taiwan:
- yukata available for use
- bidet with seat warmer
- LOTS of Japanese food options around (in the basement of the hotel as well as the Eslite building next to it)
The staff are polite and friendly. Little/no problem with English but they have dedicated staff who can speak Korean and Japanese.
We had the 2 double beds in the room to accommodate 2 adults and 2 toddlers (<5yo). The room was spacious (about 33sqm) compared to the other hotels nearby. This time round, the room decor feels a bit more modern. It has the necessities (safe deposit box, water kettle, some mugs, tea and coffees). Mineral water is provided but there are also water dispensers are on the gym floor and another floor. The laundry room (only 1 washing machine and 1 dryer, both coin-operated ) is clean. Dryer can dry the clothes in 1 round. Detergent is free for use. However, there is no view from the room (we can see the other rooms from our room).
Location is directly above the red & blue Taipei Main Station MRT and directly opposite the High Speed Rail station . The hotel is connected to the MRT and the HSR station via the basement but there is a stairs (about 15-20steps) so it’s not so stroller-friendly).

The hotel is a bit far from the metro - it takes me 8 minutes of walk at my fastest speed but more realistically it takes about 12-15 minutes.
But! It makes up with its amenities. I really like the Smart TV which has youtube and even free netflix! The toilet also has a bidet :) And the electrical plugs are universal. They also provide complimentary access to a well-equiped gym nearby!

Booked a family room for 4 nights. The hotel is strategically located beside Qsquare shopping mall and an overhead bridge to Taipei Main Station. It is very convenient.
The hotel lobby reception is located at 6th floor and the check-in is seamless. I enjoy the cosy ambience and the warm service provided by the staffs.
The family room is comfortable for a family of four with ample space for our three luggages.
We also enjoyed a dinner at Le Palais (a three stars Michelin) cantonese restaurant. However we don’t recommend the breakfast buffet as the spread of food is pretty simple (probably because we stayed over at Fleur De Chine Hotel too) and there are also many local F&B shops surrounding the hotel. Technically breakfast is easily available everywhere.
As for the amenities, there is no swimming pool or any playground for children. Also no provision of washing machines or dryers for laundry.
Overall, we do enjoy the hotel and will definitely book again for our next holiday in Taipei 😄😄😄🎉🎉FromDKK 862

I booked the most basic room on Trip.com. The hotel has been open for a while, so its upkeep is understandably average, but its convenient location is a huge plus. We stayed at City Suites Main Station Taipei and overall had a pleasant experience. The location is a bit of a walk from Taipei Main Station MRT (Exit Y21 to Y1), so we recommend taking Beimen MRT instead — it’s much nearer if you walk underground from Exit Y21 to Y28.
Our first room had an aircon leaking issue, but the staff were very responsive. After we contacted them through Trip.com, they quickly arranged a room change with no fuss.

Situated at the older part of Taipei, this business hotel can be considered good. You might need to walk but the hotel is smacked in between two MRT stations. There are Family Mart, 7-11 and local supermarket nearby. There are plenty of food options and also walking distance to Ningxia Night Market. The room I booked come with an open bathtub, an ensuite showroom and WC room. The washing basin is exposed like the bathtub, which while seem modern but still a bit outrageous for Asian like me. The room size is generous but the ID probably can be better. The bed are placed on elevated tatami floors and tucked to the side of the window, which doesn't come with much view. However after a long day out exploring, I did have some good sleep and woke up to a good breakfast spread. The breakfast was held in a lounge like setting which seem fancy and the food spread was generous and adequate. Did I tell you that the ground floor was just for concierge which would direct you to an alley into a lounge then a lift will bring you up to reception whereby very helpful front desk team would assist in almost anything and everything possible. I was shocked with some design choices the hotel had made but I really had a great time and I love the team operating the hotel, everyone is a champion. Thank you!FromDKK 441
