Getting around Johor depends heavily on where you are travelling.
Johor Bahru has local bus services, taxis and ride hailing services, while longer trips around the state are generally easier by car or intercity bus. For attractions outside the main cities, having a car can save considerable travel time.

The Johor Bahru Singapore RTS Link is a new cross border rail service connecting Bukit Chagar in Johor Bahru with Woodlands North in Singapore.
The line is approximately 4km long and will use an LRT system with a capacity of up to 10,000 passengers per hour in each direction during peak periods. Malaysia's Ministry of Transport currently states that passenger service is targeted to begin by the end of December 2026.
