Opero Hotel Southkey Johor Bahru

Our recent one night stay at Opero was disappointing. It seems like the hotel are starting to have hidden charges. During check in, I was inform to top up breakfast meal for my kids. I requested for them to check again as we stayed in May this year and our kids 3 & 5, were not charged. Receptionist checked our previous record and mention that previous staff didnt properly advise us as he was just a trainee who has already left the company. Receptionist insisted that payment to be made was either RM55 to the restaurant or alternatively, immediate payment of RM45 during check in. Kinda ridiculous as my kids are small eaters and only eat cereal and milk for breakfast? So I made the payment during check in. My previous stays in Opero the room is quite well kept. But this time round, I agree with the others when they mentioned about the sewage smell. Our room is reeking of the stench. And our room TV also flickers for all channels then turn blank. My hubby called housekeeping to check if can get extra bath towel, but was informed that will be charged at RM10/towel. It is really upsetting that the hotel is starting to have hidden charges and seems like it’s not family friendly. And the standard is not well maintained too. Moving forward, we would rather go to other hotels.

This hotel is great building is newly build nice design room are clean and neat . The only funny thing is that something some things are missing from the room like face towel and the shower side the holder is taken out and not replaced .

Hotel is good place to stay. But you really need to drive. If not it could be out of the way. The durian fest was good

Had an enjoyable and comfortable 3D2N stay in my Superior King Room at Opero Hotel. Walking distance to Mid Valley Southkey is a plus!

Really pleasant stay, excellent location. Front desk staff were very helpful and polite from the moment we stepped in. Had a minor issue with the room wardrobe sliding door not sliding smoothly and they rectified it immediately. Room is very new and clean, the bathroom is bright and comfortable. The room also smelled sooo fresh and clean the moment we stepped in. Very nice facilities such as huge gym and pool for families! Will definitely bring my extended family here again.

Nice hotel, good service! Great food for bfast . My only suggestion is to change the bidet in the toilet coz its not that convenient to use. Another commetvis in the shower to add another shower head that is detachable.

Overall the stay was good, room was comfortable and clean, only thing was the toilet had a bit of smell, but bearable, can be improve. I like the lobby ambience 👍

A really affordable and convenient 2D1N stay. However, do note that the water pressure is not so great but overall the service, hospitality, cleanliness makes up for it. The bed and pillow was so comfortable that I knocked out as soon as I was tucked in. Will come back again and recc to those who wants to find a more cozy vibe and non-smoking hotel.

Overall is good. The only cons is the shower. Not water not hot enough and not strong. And only top shower head. Not that convenient.
