I had the most beautiful stay in Jianshui. The hotel was clean, bright and very comfortable. The hospitality was fantastic, which as a solo traveller I was very grateful for. I was given tea and fruit on arrival and the laoban introduced me to all the key spots in Jianshui and sent me recommendations of food spots too. I was given a delicious breakfast with some of the best congee I've had in China! I really felt at home. The location is fantastic, right in the old town on a beautiful side street with a peaceful quaint atmosphere. The hotel also organised a taxi to take me onto my next destination - thank you both for a wonderful stay. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Fantastic service and super comfortable beds! We arrived mid-morning and the staff thankfully checked us in early. The room was extremely spacious and decorated stylish. Breakfast was delicious, but they need to acquire better coffee. Even though the staff did not speak English, they were incredibly helpful and accommodating through WeChat and translating apps. They even offered us free lunches and were helpful with suggestions for restaurants, bar and shopping areas (only 2km walk away). Dainchi Lake Park is located directly across the hotel and a 10 minute walk gets you to the cruise boats. The olde town was a bit far but only cost 50 rmb in Premier Didi.

Beautiful views - the rooms are simple but great for a trip to the rice terraces. We had a problem with the restaurant food on the first night but the problem was promptly resolved by the manager which was much appreciated. The goat hotpot did not come with slice d meat for cooking as expected. Instead all meat was already in the pot (quantity not enough for 2 people as mainly fat and bones which I did not enjoy eating). However the manager offered to remedy this problem by presenting a plate of sliced meat. This show good attitude in resolving problems. Highly recommended.The following evening he made good recommendations for dinner and we enjoyed the food very much.

The staff here were quite enthusiastic. They proactively helped clean the pool and manage the water, and the water temperature was adjustable. They were also very quick to respond on WeChat and even offered to bring takeout from the front desk to my room. However, there are a few areas that need improvement. First, due to the environment, there were a lot of mosquitoes. The mosquito coils weren't very effective, and I ended up with over ten bites after just two nights. Second, there might be some issues with the facilities. On my first night, the power went out in the middle of the night. This area is quite remote and there are no lights, which was really scary. Also, the smart toilet kept leaking without power, so I had to turn off the water valve. The door hinges made a lot of noise. The automatic night light was too sensitive and would turn on instantly with the slightest movement. Third, the staff might not have been very attentive; they misidentified me three times in a row (gender and last name). Despite these issues, it is indeed a natural sulfur hot spring, and I felt very relaxed after soaking. For that reason, I would still recommend it, but next time I'll choose a season with fewer mosquitoes.

We stayed 3 nights at a river view room which was clean and well appointed. The service was excellent, they serviced our room and helped me print out a visa. The location next to the river is quiet and relaxing to see the boats go by. Breakfast was understaffed, since they rapidly ran out of food, plates, cups and couldn't cook or re-fill food and drinks. So go early for breakfast. It takes a long time for didi car to drive up to the hotel. Be sure to choose a route that avoids the traffic bottlenecks.

The biggest feeling is that all the waiters in the hotel are warm and thoughtful. We have stayed in many parent-child hotels with our children, and the waiter training of this hotel is really great! The room is clean and tidy, the layout is warm and spacious, the hotel is in a good location and very quiet. Especially the front desk Minnie George is also very enthusiastic, and she took the initiative to add WeChat. If you have any needs during the three-day stay, you can send her WeChat to help solve them in time. There is also a male lifeguard with braids by the swimming pool. The child's swimming ring fell in the pool. He collected it specially the next day. My mother insisted that I write down to thank him. The buffet dinner is also great. After the meal, I took the children to DIY food. I got more than one comfortable and pleasant stay experience. Our whole family had a lot of fun staying during the May Day holiday.

I deliberated for a long time between the Banyan Tree, InterContinental, and The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, and ultimately chose the latter – and it certainly didn't disappoint. The hotel itself is quite large with a strong capacity for guests. Throughout my stay, I never once felt neglected; the service was absolutely on point. The hotel boasts excellent views, with beautiful architectural design and landscape gardening. My Deluxe King Room with Snow Mountain View offered a direct view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and the hotel also has many other fantastic viewing spots. The hotel's amenities are top-notch. The Harman Kardon speakers and Karl Lagerfeld toiletries in the room are highly competitive for a hotel in this price range. A 78-square-meter Deluxe King Room with Snow Mountain View at this price point is truly exceptional. The hotel also offers many activities. During my stay, I participated in a tie-dye experience and a tea tasting, which showed how much effort they put into designing these culturally authentic activities. What truly deserves special praise is the hotel's mini-zoo. It houses Border Collies, alpacas, goats, marmots, donkeys, and horses. It's clear that the animals are well cared for, and the staff are genuinely loving. Overall, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt is a highly recommended hotel. I strongly suggest staying here.

This is one of the nicest places I have stayed in China for the money spent. Excellent value. It is very central—literally next to the golden pagoda and very close to the night market—but still on a sleepy quiet street. At least it was quiet in November. The bed was extra comfortable, and shower also. Very kind staff. Delicious breakfast in a beautiful courtyard. Perfect.

This is a very nice hotel, great location, good rooms and excellent, helpful staff. But the hotel gets bad marks in two areas. First, the food was generally very good but the Western breakfast buffet choices were nearly always cold. I tried three days in a row to get poached eggs that were not hard boiled. On the third day I got what I wanted but even then the eggs were stone cold. The second issue was the the lack of necessary security staff. The lobby bar was nice and had a young woman playing guitar in the evenings but on our second evening 4 drunks were drinking, shouting and smoking and refused to stop when the hotel staff intervened. After this things escalated and instead of having hotel security throw them out the drunks started harassing us and it got ugly so we left for our room. The hotel called our room to apologize but it was not equipped to deal with this situation and needs to have better control over their public areas. A lesson to be learned. I will be sending a separate letter to Accor management giving full details of this unfortunate event.

The InterContinental Hotel was very comfortable during the off-season. Both the hotel grounds and the rooms were very spacious – so much so that it was easy to get lost, haha. The resort offered a good range of holiday activities, including travel photography, swimming, cockfighting performances, and floating lantern ceremonies. The makeup for the travel photography was highly recommended; the makeup artists had excellent aesthetic sense. Several friends and I tried the ¥88 simple makeup service, and it was fantastic – it didn't give off an overly 'influencer' vibe, and the headwear provided was also beautiful! Regarding meals, we only had breakfast there. Even during the off-season, there were quite a few people, but the food lines moved quickly, there was a wide variety, and the taste was good. As we were going hiking, we also asked a staff member to pack some bread for us. The service response was very prompt; any requests made to the front desk were quickly resolved. However, ordering takeout was a bit of a hassle, as hotel staff needed to deliver it to the room. One of my friend's takeout orders went missing, though it wasn't a major issue. The only downsides were that there were many mosquitoes when doing outdoor travel photography in the park, which affected the experience. Also, I'd suggest upgrading the room lighting to be brighter.
