This hotel is more of an Airbnb style where after you check in they bring you to your private apartment which is awesome. We got a free upgrade and had a massive room with a living area, seperate kitchen, two full bathrooms, and 4 seperate bedrooms with cozy beds. We also had a massive balcony with amazing views of the Jinhong area that were stunning during the day and especially at night (see attached photos). The staff were also super helpful and really responsive in terms of helping us with questions and recommending delicious local restaurants that were off the beaten path. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are with a group of friends or a larger party. It’s clean and super great value.

I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank the owner for the wonderful BBQ Doufu gathering they organized for all the guests. It was such a thoughtful and kind gesture, and it truly made our stay even more memorable. The effort they put into bringing everyone together, preparing the delicious food, and creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere did not go unnoticed. It was a joy to meet the other guests, share stories, and enjoy the fantastic BBQ Doufu in such a beautiful setting. Their hospitality and attention to detail made the evening truly special. This homestay is not just a place to stay—it’s an experience filled with warmth, care, and a sense of community. We are so grateful for the memories we’ve made here, and the BBQ gathering was the perfect highlight of our time. I will definitely recommend this homestay to others and hope to visit again in the future. Tan Wee Liang

Visiting Kunming in January to see the seagulls was such a great experience, I'm super satisfied with this stay! Jiangye Resort has a serene environment, and the room was spotlessly clean with comfortable bedding that wasn't heavy. The breakfast was plentiful and filling, and the staff proactively offered travel tips. Right outside the hotel is Daguan Park, where the seagulls are lively and adorable – perfect for photos, making for a truly happy trip~

Beautiful views - the rooms are simple but great for a trip to the rice terraces. We had a problem with the restaurant food on the first night but the problem was promptly resolved by the manager which was much appreciated. The goat hotpot did not come with slice d meat for cooking as expected. Instead all meat was already in the pot (quantity not enough for 2 people as mainly fat and bones which I did not enjoy eating). However the manager offered to remedy this problem by presenting a plate of sliced meat. This show good attitude in resolving problems. Highly recommended. The following evening he made good recommendations for dinner and we enjoyed the food very much.

Starting from good things. Room with private hot spring was nice and clean and bed and bed linen was great. Despite hot spring pool was leaking and needed to refill constantly. But no problem with that if water supply is turned on and you can operate yourself with valves. Hotel staff recommended many places for eating outside. Thanks for that! We arrived before check in time and asked to spend our time near the pool area which was not problem. When I was looking for toilet then lady from shop told to me that I should go outside the territory and use toilet which is for camper van people. And it was not toilet but old school ditch. Fortunately it was cleaned. Lot of things are in real life different than in pictures what you can find in web pages. Many hot springs was closed, on site was not operating restaurants and bars. Only you can order food from app or go outside. Area is under the airplanes take off route that means in daytime lot of noise. About 6pm domestic water supply was turned off and situation lasted until our leaving next day about 11am. Hotel staff wrote that if you want to use toilet I should let them know and they will find a solution. No shower or washing. Breakfast was simple. In the breakfast area is operational coffee machine but for some reason lady behind the table told that not possible and drink cold pre brewed ice coffee? I hope that it’s not connected with lack of water supply. Machine may be filled with purified bottle water not local tap water.

Great location with a lovely river view. The front desk service was excellent; they even upgraded our room. Breakfast is included, and on our first day, we received a fruit platter and a welcome gift. There's a gym, but unfortunately, I didn't get to use it. They offer airport/station pickup, which is convenient. The complimentary welcome fruit platter on the first day had three very fresh fruits.

Because we went there during the May Day holiday, we booked two rooms. When booking, we requested a high floor. When we arrived, they said there were no high floors. When we asked when the rooms would be cleaned, they said they were not sure. I felt that the service was a little inadequate in this regard, but otherwise I was very satisfied. Both the Chinese and Western food were good. Recommended!

My stay at the Hyatt Regency Lijiang left a deep impression on me! The hotel is located near Shuhe Ancient Town, allowing guests to experience the unique charm of Naxi culture while enjoying modern luxury and comfort. The lobby design seamlessly blends traditional Dongba elements with contemporary art, immersing you in a rich ethnic atmosphere the moment you step inside. The rooms are spacious and elegant, with wooden furniture and ethnic embroidery complementing each other perfectly, offering superb views. The service was consistently warm; the front desk attendant, Christina, even gave us a small gift upon checkout. The hotel's Chinese restaurant serves authentic Yunnan cuisine, and the breakfast buffet is extensive, featuring various Lijiang local specialties. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I highly recommend it to travelers seeking quality!

This is one of the nicest places I have stayed in China for the money spent. Excellent value. It is very central—literally next to the golden pagoda and very close to the night market—but still on a sleepy quiet street. At least it was quiet in November. The bed was extra comfortable, and shower also. Very kind staff. Delicious breakfast in a beautiful courtyard. Perfect.

Our stay in this luxury bedroom suite was a memorable experience, largely due to the exceptional accommodations. The suite itself was nothing short of spectacular—incredibly spacious and warmly appointed. The layout was impeccably designed, featuring a foyer, a living area, a comfortable bedroom, and a walk-in wardrobe. The bathroom was a highlight, with a separate water closet, a vanity area with a deep-soaking bathtub, and a separate, spacious double shower room. The private outdoor sitting area that led to a huge, rejuvenating hot spring was the crown jewel of the suite. It's important to note the location within the Dong Feng Yun Scenic Area. A significant benefit is that the hotel provides the scenic area entrance ticket and transport to and from the gate, which is excellent. However, its setting means it is quite far from Jianshui's Old Town and other key locations. This can be inconvenient when you wish to visit other spots or find dining options outside the hotel. A major logistical issue we encountered was with return trips. When trying to get back to the hotel, most taxi drivers requested a top-up payment, as they would have to return to the city center without a passenger. Service at the hotel was generally good; the staff were prompt and attentive upon our arrival and throughout our stay. However, we noted a noticeable drop in attentiveness during the checkout process. A minor point to note is the centralized A/C system, which meant we couldn't control the room temperature individually. That said, the provision of a standing fan was a thoughtful and effective solution. The food at the hotel's restaurant was acceptable, though it didn't quite match the exceptional standard of the suite itself. Overall, this is a truly magnificent property for the space and privacy it offers, but its remote location requires careful planning and extra budget for transportation.

Rraymond200909On the positive side, the hotel has quite a few recreational facilities, and the room amenities are decent and relatively new. On the negative side, the biggest problem is the excessive dampness in the room. It was uncomfortable to sleep in, and although the hotel changed the bedding, it didn't help much. This might be due to the humid air during the rainy season in Xishuangbanna, but two things puzzled me: 1) The front desk said no one else had reported this issue before. 2) I stayed at three hotels during this trip, and Zhucheng was the third. The other two were right next to Zhucheng, and their rooms didn't feel noticeably damp. Also, the hotel room didn't pay enough attention to some details. The sofa arrangement prevented the curtains from closing completely automatically; I had to manually close them. The refrigerator was also quite noisy, which affected my sleep.

UUlysess444The hotel's facilities and services are excellent, with many thoughtful details that really show they care about guests. The way to activate the power is unique; instead of inserting a card into a narrow slot, you place it on a tray with a groove at the bottom, which is much simpler, especially in dim lighting. There are plenty of hangers and various surfaces to place your belongings. The smart room control system is very user-friendly, allowing individual control of lights in different areas. The 'disposable' slippers are fantastic – clean, comfortable, and environmentally friendly. The room has a mix of wooden flooring and small area rugs, offering the comfort of a carpet while being easy to keep clean, which is much better than fully carpeted rooms. The toilet is the best I've encountered in a hotel; the heated seat is just the right temperature, not too hot, and the flush is quiet yet very effective. While the wide front of the seat and the automatic sensor for opening and closing the lid aren't groundbreaking features, they significantly enhance the user experience. The shower controls are a bit unique, with two separate switches for the handheld and overhead showerheads. This means you can't control water flow and temperature simultaneously, but you get used to it. If I had to pick a flaw, it would be the toilet paper – it lacks elasticity and tears easily.

OOlive GohWhen I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made. The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car. When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff. The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion. This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time! One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay. Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.

PpinkrippleThere is free pick-up from the airport, and there is a shuttle bus for visiting Gaozhuang. It is very convenient and the service is very good. There is also a swimming pool on the roof, and the environment is very good, especially the night view. The breakfast is generally good, with quite a lot of variety. I really like their rice noodles. The laundry room is a bit run down, so if there's nothing special about it, try not to use it.

DDuolvxingshaolvyouThe Naga Hotel is located at Gate 3 of Gaozhuang, on the outskirts of the area, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. The Starlight Night Market is just a few hundred meters walk to the south, and there are countless dining options nearby. Parking at the hotel is convenient, with helpful bellboys assisting with parking and unloading luggage. The staff are consistently friendly and greet guests warmly. This hotel also offers a 'private butler' service. After booking and on the eve of arrival, they proactively contact guests to provide hotel information. However, during our stay, we typically addressed any issues directly with the front desk or floor attendants, rather than through the butler. Our room wasn't huge, but it was spacious enough to open two suitcases without obstructing the walkway. The balcony glass provided excellent sound insulation, and the bathroom featured a separate wet and dry area. The hotel lobby offers complimentary ice cream to guests, which was a welcome treat after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast is served on the 17th floor, offering a wide variety of both Chinese and Western dishes, along with a pleasant view. The only drawback is that the elevator only goes up to the 16th floor, so you have to walk up one flight of stairs to reach the breakfast area. This might be a consideration for guests with mobility issues. Overall, it's a very good hotel.

AAnonymous UserDidn't take any pictures, so I'll borrow two from other reviews. I rarely write hotel reviews, but this time, while visiting Pu'er, I stayed at two hotels, and it really highlights how much comparison matters. This was the first one I stayed at, and honestly, I had a feeling the experience wouldn't be great even before arriving. My booked room supposedly included free airport pickup. I proactively called the front desk to book it in advance. They asked me to add the hotel's WeChat, but their replies were very cold. Regarding the pickup, they said they couldn't come at our arrival time due to a group charter or some other reason, and told us to take a taxi to the hotel, which the front desk would reimburse. I said I understood. However, when we arrived at the hotel in our own taxi, I saw two hotel shuttle vans sitting empty right outside the entrance. Honestly, if they don't want to offer this service, they shouldn't advertise it. To advertise it and then not provide it, based on the front desk's mood, is really baffling. As for the front desk staff's attitude, it felt lukewarm at best, not particularly professional or enthusiastic. The uncle making noodles at the breakfast restaurant was actually much friendlier. It was a stark contrast to the front desk staff at the next hotel we stayed at, where the young men and women at reception were professional and welcoming. Saying 'home away from home' might be an exaggeration, but at least they made guests feel very comfortable checking in. Also, the room didn't feel very spacious. Right behind the door, there was a wad of used tissue that hadn't been cleaned up. Overall, aside from the reception attitude (I'm not saying it was outright bad, but for a 300+ RMB per night room, we didn't even hear a 'welcome' or anything similar throughout our stay, so the experience was definitely mediocre) and the airport pickup, which I found subpar, everything else was fine. The hotel's location is good.

OOris7643Our friend recommended this amazing guesthouse at the entrance of Yuhu Village, and the meticulous care and attention truly exceeded our expectations. They don't treat you like a distant 'god,' but rather like a caring friend who anticipates your every need and even goes beyond. Firstly, they ensure your arrival and departure are hassle-free; since we booked for two nights, they provided pick-up and drop-off from the train station and airport. Secondly, it's a 'one night, two meals, and one afternoon tea' package, meaning breakfast and dinner are included. The Laxi spare rib hotpot for dinner was so generous we couldn't finish it all, and the afternoon tea starting at 2:30 PM is substantial enough to fill you up even if you skip lunch – it's practically three meals a day! There's also 24/7 complimentary coffee, milk tea, and various soft drinks, plus unlimited fresh fruit, so you'll never know what hunger feels like. The rooms are ultra-modern, with Xiao Du (smart assistant) always ready to serve, and aromatherapy candles to help you relax. Daily activities are plentiful too: forest foraging, horseback riding, Naxi traditional weaving, making roasted milk tea, and crafting – you won't get bored even if you just stay at the hotel. You can also opt for a paid activity like horseback riding and hiking in the Grand Canyon for a close encounter with Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. In short, you won't be disappointed.

TTiansanshijiushiwoyaThis is my fifth time vacationing in Dali, and it's been a really busy year. Dali is such a relaxing city. I stayed at the Jupiter Castle Hotel once before, right after it opened, and it left a deep impression. So I returned to Wenbi Village. Compared to a few years ago, Wenbi Village's commercial offerings are much more developed, and this hotel's service is even more meticulous. The overall aesthetic is perfect for photos. My room booking included complimentary pick-up service from Dali Airport, taking me directly to the hotel. The butler kept in touch throughout my stay. That very evening, I saw a 'burning cloud' sunset, which hadn't appeared for many days. The next morning, I witnessed the rare sight of the sun illuminating Cangshan Mountain. Wenbi Village is situated at an elevation that offers a panoramic view of Cangshan and Erhai Lake, arguably one of the best locations. Although it's been open for three or four years, the hotel is very well-maintained. The mini-fridge was stocked with many complimentary items, including face masks, jellies, and drinks, all free to enjoy. The hygiene was impeccable, and the overall environment was fantastic. Just staying in the room, curled up on the sofa, with the warm sunlight streaming in and bathing me, instantly made all the stress and exhaustion from work disappear. Thank you, Dali, and thank you, Jupiter Castle, for making this trip so perfect. I'll definitely stay here again next time I get the chance!

GGuest UserII recently stayed at the Guanxin Art Hotel in Shuhe Old Town, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Tucked away in a serene corner of this charming ancient town, the hotel’s artistic design immediately captivated me—think intricate local motifs blended with modern whimsy in every corner, from the lobby’s handcrafted murals to the thoughtfully curated room accents. It’s the kind of place that feels like stepping into a living gallery. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warming welcome tea set that set a perfectly relaxed tone after our journey. And the turndown service? A cozy surprise of warmed white fungus dessert that was both indulgent and surprisingly soothing—such a unique touch that made evenings feel special. Breakfast was a highlight, served with fresh, flavorful local ingredients and Western options that catered to every craving. Everything was excellent, from the fluffy pancakes to the vibrant fruit platters, all enjoyed in a sunlit courtyard that amplified the magic. The rooms themselves were a sanctuary: lovely, plush bedding that promised (and delivered) the deepest sleep, wrapped in an ambiance that’s equal parts elegant and inviting. What truly elevated the stay was the staff—they’re a warm, efficient bunch who went above and beyond. One team member even insisted on carrying my ridiculously heavy bags up the stairs without a second thought, all with a genuine smile. And let’s talk about the hotel’s superstar resident: a massive, fluffy husky dog who’s as photogenic as he is well-behaved. He lounged gracefully by the entrance, offering tail-wags on demand but never intrusive—pure joy! One minor note: the hotel is nestled a bit deeper into the old town, so we walked about 15-20 minutes from the pickup point. But honestly, it was a lovely stroll through lantern-lit alleys, past street vendors and hidden courtyards—part of the adventure that made arriving feel earned. If you’re seeking a boutique escape that’s artistic, attentive, and utterly memorable, Guanxin Art Hotel is it. I’d return in a heartbeat—five stars all the way!
