No complaints. The room was pretty compact, but I can't say I didn't have enough space. The layout makes it work. The bathroom is a tight fit, though. Didn't really make use of the hotel's amenities, but I checked them out, and they seemed to be as advertised. The location was pretty good; not super close to anything, but also not particularly far. Staff are welcoming and enthusiastic. Honestly, at the price point, it's actually a bit of a steal.
Xiangxi Grand Hotel

We had the best service of our trip at this hotel- they truly go beyond and above. It was only a 15min Didi from the train station, also the bus shuttle from HSR to the city is right in front of the hotel. The location is perfectly situated at one side of the main bridge, but a nice 5min stroll away such that you are away from the noise on the main ***** (in front of the river). Also, no mosquitoes. We initially booked a riverfront hotel but I am SO glad that we changed to this hotel after actually walking the whole tourist ***** on foot. Legit the cobblestones near the river are terrible, and cars can’t get in so it’d have been a nightmare. Next, Xiao Dai (小代) who helped us and the manager were all so sweet. 小代answered all our WeChat questions extremely promptly (literally 1-2mins), and when we asked about the free laundry self use machine onsite, she offered to have us leave it in our room and do it for us so we could go out and explore. I thought this was truly above and beyond- she picked the clothes up from our room, washed them (separately as well for colours and whites), hung them and sent us a photo, dried them and returned them to us folded and freshly laundered. We were simply floored by this level of service. They are so so so kind and I can’t recommend this hotel enough for their kindness and eagerness to ensure your comfort during your stay. We stayed on the 7th floor in a suite and it was very comfortable- the bed itself and pillows were just right. Sheets felt high quality, pillows not too stiff and high, duvet was fluffy and nice. I liked that the toilet is separated from the shower and vanity- the soft but bright filtered lighting for the bathroom vanity was amazing for getting ready (for the girls who are sick of hotels with dark lighting and can’t do their make up). The room was spacious and although some aspects were a bit outdated, it was clean large and comfortable - we were so happy with our room. They also gave our group of 3 girls 4 room cards which allows for each card to breakfast. The breakfast ayis were so nice and made eggs freshly your way when asked. The cucumber and radish pickles were yummy and we really liked the corn soup and congee as well as all the vegetable dishes. The selection was good for us, as we like clean and simple, easy to digest and nutritious foods in the morning. Oh yeah they also sent us to the HSR on check out without charge, in the hotel’s car. They were so prompt in getting us to the HSR and the driver was really considerate, safe and careful. Literally the most calm drive we’ve experienced in China. Side note- the gym is massive and looks largely unused but the equipment is good, there are weights and cables and everything. There’s also a pool table and table tennis. A yoga room complete with a good amount of gear and mats.

We recently enjoyed a fantastic one-week stay at the Harmona Spa and Resort in Zhangjiajie, and we couldn't be more pleased with our experience. From the moment we arrived, the personalized service made us feel right at home. The staff went above and beyond to assist us with logistics, arranging everything from tickets to transportation, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay. The 24/7 attention was impeccable, and the beautiful location and facilities added to the charm of the resort, we got a feeling of Avatar 2.0 One highlight was the great variety offered at breakfast, which we thoroughly enjoyed each morning. Both of the resort’s restaurants served excellent food, adding to our overall dining pleasure. A special mention goes to the staff members who made our stay exceptional: Johnny and Shan received us warmly on the night we arrived, Cherry and Monica, who not only provided excellent service but also entertained us with their beautiful singing and fun personalities; Pink, who was incredibly helpful, proactive in planning our activities, and quick to resolve any issues T hank you to Mao Mengfan, who hosted us with an amazing barbecue at Flower Valley, Luna from the Chinese restaurant, who provided amazing service; Nikki and Fenfen from the front desk, who were always welcoming and efficient; and Josie from the bar, who made our karaoke night unforgettable with creative cocktails. Lastly, big thank you to Mr. Li who took great care of our luggage, ensuring it reached the airport when we couldn't return from Tianmen Mountain in time. We loved every moment of our stay at Harmona Spa and Resort and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Zhangjiajie. Victoria & Alexander

This time, I was very happy to stay at Qiman. It was a highlight of our trip to Zhangjiajie besides the scenic spot. After booking, the housekeepers Xiao Huang and Xiao Xiao contacted us in time to arrange the pick-up, and sent us the itinerary planning and travel suggestions. After checking in, they took us to visit the room, helped us upgrade the room type, explained the travel strategy to us in detail again, and made adjustments according to the weather and our needs, and took us to taste the local specialty berry tea. The driver, Master Hu, picked us up and dropped us off at the middle gate of Zhangjiajie Forest Park every day, and set off at any time according to our time. It was very comfortable to chat. Every day, breakfast and dinner are also very delicious. The aunties in the restaurant are also very cute and will give us a little spicy. When the weather is good, they will help us set up dinner outdoors before we return to the B&B. The atmosphere is super good! We were also given roselle tea on the night before leaving. Every day when we leave and come back to see the staff, they will greet us intimately about how the game is, which is super warm, and we also have a good chat with the two owners of the B&B! We are very satisfied with this B&B as a whole. The room is clean and cleaned in time, the service is warm and thoughtful, and we try our best to meet our various needs. The room design and supplies are very tasteful, the mattress is very comfortable, and the bathtub is fully utilized during the days of walking 20,000 steps every day. While providing accommodation and rest, I also made good friends. I will come again if I have the chance!
Furong Town Baihe Inn (Panoramic View Store within the Scenic Area)

We are two people travelling from the UK. We had no problems booking on Trip and checking in to the hotel with our passports. The hotel is beautiful with lots of character and charm, even more so when lit up at night by lanterns. There is dark wood and tasteful decorations. There are communal areas to sit. We had booked a standard double but they very kindly upgraded us to the top floor room, which had amazing views of the old town and a balcony with table and chairs. The air conditioning was excellent, the beds comfortable, the shower was hot and powerful, it was very clean. The room had a TV, kettle, cups, shampoo & body wash, plugs by both sides of the bed, insect repellent plugs, towels. The hotel page mentions a fitness room but there isn’t one. There is a washing machine for use, as well as laundry detergent. The balcony had a rail we hung the clothes on to try. Our room was on the top floor and there wasn’t a lift - not a problem for us but mentioning it for others. For breakfast, we requested a time and they brought it to the room. We were given a few options to choose from. We had noodles, dumplings, mini banana bread and mini brioche bread. It came with small cartons of milk so we could have instant coffee we had brought ourselves. Above all, the hospitality and friendliness of the hotel owners was wonderful. They were so helpful. We used translate apps and WeChat app to talk. They ordered a comfortable taxi to take us to the train station. They helped carry our bags upstairs. When we checked in, they offered us local snacks containing tofu, rice, peanuts. They can get discounted entrance tickets to the town for you as well - we did not use this and just bought our tickets at the entrance. They sent us useful information via WeChat. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is just inside the entrance to the old town, and a few metres from the start of the scenic loop around the town. You can reuse the tickets to go in and out. Lots of restaurants nearby in the scenic area, and a large supermarket very close to the hotel, just outside the scenic area. A short Didi ride from the high speed train station as well. Totally recommend this hotel if you are visiting Furong Ancient Town, especially the lovely people who run it. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Healing B&B is located in the core scenic area of Baizhang Gorge in Zhangjiajie, very close to the Zhongmen. It is surrounded by rural and pastoral scenery and overlooks the mountains in the distance. Fast-paced urbanites can experience a real sense of relaxation, and it is more effective for middle-aged people who want to lie flat. All the scenery has no traces of artificial carvings, is cost-effective, and is invincible within a radius of ten miles. The owners, Comrade Lao Yang and Auntie Liao, run the B&B with their heart and soul. They are kind and enthusiastic. The B&B has Tujia characteristics. The special local food is sourced from their own farming and breeding. It is green, healthy and delicious. It is a magical place worth visiting many times!
Fun Gee S Huanzhi Hotel (Changsha Wuyi Square IFS Guojin Center Shop)

This was my first time travelling to Changsha on my own and I booked this wonderful hotel.  As a solo traveller the smallest room is large enough for me.  There is a smart tablet to control all appliances, however if you have difficulty to master technology, ordinary switches are also mounted on the wall, which are definitely easier to use.  Basic toiletries are provided, but in case you need additional items like razors or paper towels, or other room services, you just scan a code by Wechat Application then a robot will make your delivery to the room.  If you do read some Chinese it will be fine; otherwise you have to contact the staff through telephone.  Don’t be surprised that the concierge is on the 11th floor yet you see a bar when the lift arrives, soon you will know that each room can enjoy a bowl of Chinese porridge and a glass of cocktail free of charge every night; that’s where you finish your shot after checking in.  Remember to take one before going to bed, plus some free snacks.   There is also a karaoke area and it allows me to connect my music library to the broadcast system and sing along.  First time in my life! Here I would like to say thank you to a young receptionist who surnamed Chen.  Not only did he handle enquiries at the front desk, but he was also responsible for fruit and wine preparing at the lounge.  Although he didn’t show super mixology skills, he worked very hard!  On the day of arrival the karaoke system had some problems, he contacted the technician at once so that I could sing after fixing.  Laundry service is also available, but unlike other hotels where I have to bring the clothes to the machine room, here I just place my request by phone and they will finish the washing for you at zero cost.  Amazingly it was Mr Chen again who came to my door for collection; an industrious boy! The hotel is located in the city centre and a direct bus ride from Changsha train station (No.112) only takes 20 minutes.  This also makes its only demerit because those busy street noise can still be heard in the room at late night (not the hotel's fault), but you may ask for earplugs for a better sleep.

The service very good. The housekeeping staff who brings us the snack every night during our stay, (A Dan) is very nice & friendly 😊 we loved our stay here will definitely stay here again when we visit Zhangjiajie. Ayi A Dan is very warm and kind, she welcomes us with love and provides us with nice snacks at night. The tour service advisor also provides good service for our trip. The tour guide was kind and outgoing, really friendly to our family and provides us with interesting facts and information about the surrounding areas we visit. The hotel room was very exquisite as the room was very clean and was comforting. The bed sheets were clean, the bathroom was clean with great compliments as well as the cupboards having more condiments which help the experience a lot. Overall, the room was great with comforting condiments and was very clean towards customers and that the laundry room was free which helped us a lot during our stay at the hotel.

I booked the Huajin room. It's spacious and like most hotels now, the toilet area is quite open without a proper door for you to lock. Thus it's suitable for couples. For friends travelling together, taking their suite is better as you have a big toilet area divided out with wooden doors and lock for privacy. There's no fridge for the Huajin room. Their suite has everything from weighing scale to fridge. Their service is wonderful though. When I feedback about smelling cigarettes in the morning (I booked the non smoking room in a non smoking floor), they apologised earnestly and offered to change a room. Breakfast choice is okie. Not a big spread but a few options for each type.
