"My stay at Poshtel in Oamaru was excellent overall. The hotel is centrally located, within walking distance of the Victorian historic precinct, restaurants, and shops. It's also a convenient drive to the Blue Penguin Colony, making its location ideal.
The hotel is a converted historic building, retaining a strong vintage feel while offering modern amenities. The room was clean and tidy, with unique and stylish decor. The bed was comfortable, and it was very quiet at night, allowing for a good night's rest.
The staff were warm and friendly, and the check-in process was quick and smooth. They were also happy to provide local travel information. The common areas have an artistic ambiance, offering a distinct experience compared to typical chain hotels.
Overall, I was satisfied with the location, environment, and service. It's a highly recommended accommodation choice for anyone visiting Oamaru. If I have the chance to revisit Oamaru, I would definitely stay here again."

There's a large slope, so dragging your suitcase up was a bit of a struggle.
There are restrooms both upstairs and downstairs, which is great.
The showers are on the first floor, unisex.
The laundry room is from 9 am to 4 pm, which is a bit inconvenient; we checked in late, so I couldn't do laundry, and there's a charge.
The facilities are generally quite complete.
By the way, you need to bring your own slippers, shower gel, and shampoo.
New Zealand doesn't provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers, so remember to bring your own.
You need to remove the leaflets and bed linens yourself when you leave and throw them in the laundry room on the first floor.
The overall environment and facilities are very friendly, and I would recommend it."

"Passing by this town, I stayed for one night. A standard motel, there is nothing to look forward to, quite satisfactory. Good health, location is also on the main road of the town. The disadvantage is that my room is on the second floor and it is more troublesome to carry luggage. If you have more luggage, try to let the owner provide you with a room on the first floor, so as not to carry your luggage up and down the stairs."

"The location is good, and it's a hotel that actually 'feels like a hotel' in New Zealand standards. The bed was very comfortable. However, the facilities are really old-fashioned, but well-maintained. Parking requires a fee. Breakfast is very simple, I don't feel it's worth going out of your way for. "I had a very enjoyable stay at Fable Dunedin. The hotel’s interior design is stylish and full of character, with a unique charm that really sets it apart from standard chain hotels. I also appreciated the in-room capsule coffee machine, which was a thoughtful touch.
The location is excellent — convenient for exploring the city, and directly across from one of Dunedin’s most popular cafés, which made mornings especially enjoyable.

"On our way to Queenstown, we chose to stop in Dunedin for a day and stayed overnight at the Dunedin Motel and Villas. We were very satisfied! The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful, recommending Dunedin's best attractions and restaurants. We were also accommodated in a newly built villa. The exterior was very attractive, and the interior was fully equipped with everything we needed, including a dishwasher. It was perfect for a family vacation. There are many attractions nearby, and it's only a ten-minute walk to the city's many shops. Highly recommended!"

"1. The room is very clean and tidy, the bed is very comfortable with electrical blanket to keep you warm; 2. There is hairdryer, fridge, and electrical kettle, basic facilities enough to stay for 1 night; 3. The staff is very supportive even I arrived after 8pm at night, she is still there to help me check in; 4. My room is on the road side, a bit noisy from the traffic in the early morning."

GGuest UserYou can easily reach the hotel from the airport by taking the #1 bus. It's about a 15-20 minute ride. Get off at the Blue Peak stop, walk back, and cross the road. It's also not far from the town center, just a 10-15 minute walk. The next bus stop after Blue Peak is the main town center station and the Intercity bus stop. However, be aware that walking to the town center involves going down a really steep hill, so walking from the town center back to the hotel means walking uphill. This is something to keep in mind if you're arriving in Queenstown by Intercity bus rather than by plane. Also, note that there are two hotels called 'Copthorne', likely related, but they are not adjacent. This one is closer to the town center and closer to the lake. The hotel is quite large, and surprisingly, you take an elevator down from the front desk to reach the rooms. I booked a lake view room, and the view was genuinely good. During the off-season, it wasn't expensive, only about 100-200 RMB more than a standard room, offering excellent value for money! The room was also quite spacious, really great!

GGuest UserI booked this hotel because I had an early 7 AM flight. It's easily accessible from Queenstown via bus route 1, and bus route 3 takes you to a supermarket near the airport, which is super convenient. I had originally planned to walk to the airport (about a 20-minute walk), but I easily caught a taxi at 5 AM for 20 NZD. The front desk staff was very friendly and attentive, especially a lady with a French accent. The front desk closes after 8 PM, but you can self-check-in/out with a key card. The room itself was well-equipped, thoughtfully laid out, clean, and tidy, with kitchen facilities and a washing machine.

YYliyaQuiet hostel, no unnecessary noise. Everything is quite basic, but perfectly fine for a couple of nights. The room is clean, beds are comfortable, nothing fancy. Common areas are decent. The staff is friendly. The only thing is, you can tell it's a budget option, without any special frills. But if you just need a place to sleep, it's perfectly acceptable.

GGuest UserWe stayed at this hotel apartment for three nights during our South Island road trip in Queenstown. The two-bedroom, two-living room lake-view apartment (with two separate bathrooms) was excellent! Make sure to choose a unit on the 4th or 5th floor, as the 3rd floor's lake view might be partially obstructed by other buildings. The kitchen is fully equipped (though you'll need to bring your own seasonings). On the evening of April 18th, we were able to see both the aurora and the Milky Way right from our room's balcony – no need to go out and brave the cold, which was absolutely amazing and so worth it! The hotel parking was also very convenient; we paid 45 NZD for three days. However, it might be inconvenient if you don't have a car, as the hotel is located in a lower area off the main road, and the front desk is a bit of a walk from the other two apartment buildings. It's about 2.5 kilometers from Queenstown center.

The location is great and easy to find.
The downgrade was the parking, there was no free parking as we had to pay $20 per 24hr. So we had to spent $60 just for parking, its ridiculous expensive. The hotel should've provide it free parking.
But other than that the stayed was amazing.
Had a great restaurant by the wharf and the food is amazing and bonus with an amazing views.

KkyaraAlthough it is a motel, it is very clean, the kitchen is no range hood, and the oven can be used. The suite we booked was not crowded for four people. The surrounding location was convenient and the penguins were very close. There are many restaurants in about ten minutes walk. The front desk is Chinese and communication is barrier-free.

이이진희We chose this hotel because we expected to enjoy its winery/food. Otherwise, we should have stayed in Queenstown with a lot of restaurants and pubs.
As we would arrive in the early evening, we put a note for our hope for experiencing their winery and food (or at least finger foods) when we booked the hotel, and received email that they cannot guarantee but will do their best to serve our need. Since then, no email was sent to us. When we arrived at the hotel around 6 pm, no one was in the information desk, so we had to go to the bistro to find out that they left the key in a safe box without any notice or sending us any email with its password. We had to wait a while for the bistro lady to make a phone call to whom it concerns, which was okay. Worse, we heard that their bistro was reserved for a group event so we could not use the facility at all. We had to drive 15 minutes to a nearby town and bought foods from a supermarket. I think the hotel should have notified us of impossibility of using their bistro/food service due to the group event and we have to prepare for our food. As I checked out, I left a note about the issues, and expected they would send me an email to express their sincere apology. Unfortunately nothing happened so far. Although I liked the room as well as the whole place very much, I think Kinross cottage needs professionalism to run their stay program. It could have been much nicer, memorable stay experience.

GGuest UserThe service at this hotel was excellent; the staff were all very friendly, and the breakfast was the best, most varied, and most delicious we'd had since Christchurch. It seems the hotel is undergoing renovations, as there was a distinct smell of paint in the hallway, though the room itself was fine. The front desk is located by the lake, but the navigation system hasn't been updated yet. We arrived around 6 PM after dark, and the navigation led us to the street behind the hotel's old building.
The hotel lobby offers complimentary wine, chocolates, and cookies at different times throughout the day, which was lovely to enjoy after an afternoon walk.
However, there's one facility that definitely needs upgrading: the shower water pressure was extremely weak, and the water temperature was very unstable—either lukewarm or suddenly scalding hot. Overall, showering was very uncomfortable.
Aside from the shower, everything else about the hotel was very satisfying 👍

GGuest UserIf you're driving or renting a car, the hotel's location is pretty good. However, if you're on foot, you'll need to take the Line 1 bus, and then it's about a ten-minute walk on a flat road to reach the hotel.
The overall exterior of the hotel looks nice, but the interior is visibly dated. The carpets and wall paint clearly show signs of old renovations, and the rooms are on the smaller side. Despite that, the stay was quite comfortable.
Also, a heads-up: the front desk is only open until 8 PM. We missed the operating hours and had to contact them through the platform to get self-check-in information.
