Swiss-Belresort and Villas Coronet Peak

Facilities: Good, it has a kitchen which is convenient for cooking. Hygiene: Clean and comfortable. Environment: Okay, a bit far from the city center. Service: Alright. Price: A bit expensive.

This was the worst hotel we stayed at during our South Island trip, which might be due to its low price. We booked it for one night because it was right across from the Onsen hot springs we had planned to visit. Firstly, I was really unhappy with the cleanliness. Maybe it's because the facilities are old, but the whole room felt dirty, especially the bathroom. The toilet even had issues. Secondly, it got very cold at night, and the heating unit was incredibly noisy. Plus, this was the only hotel on our entire trip that charged a $100 deposit, and it still hasn't been refunded by the end of our trip. When I called the front desk, they said it would take 7 business days, which is completely unreasonable!

The room is quite far from Queenstown, nestled in the mountains, but parking is convenient, making it suitable for those traveling by car. The house itself is outdated, yet they still require a NZD 100 deposit. On top of that, they inspect the room before returning the deposit. Seriously, what valuable items do you have that someone would even want to take? It just left a really bad taste in my mouth. I definitely won't be staying there again.
