Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa

This has to be the dirtiest Hilton I've ever stayed in. There was a thick layer of dust on the headboard and windows. Even worse, under the dining table, the dust had accumulated into clumps. I spent a good half hour cleaning the room myself after checking in. The washing machine provided in the room was also incredibly filthy, completely unusable. On top of that, the hotel's design is odd – there's an air vent on the ceiling directly above the bed that couldn't be turned off, blowing cold air all night. I woke up with a cold the next morning. It was a truly unpleasant stay.

Just a five-minute taxi ride from the airport. You can take a water taxi to the town center, and you can buy a Bee card right at the front desk. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, and a morning stroll by the lake is incredibly refreshing. The room itself is also very spacious.

We chose the Hilton again for our trip to Queenstown, New Zealand. While it's not right in the town center, transportation is super convenient. The hotel has its own water taxi that goes to and from the center daily. The first boat leaves at 8:15 AM, and then it's hourly after that. It costs 14 NZD per person and takes about 25 minutes. The last return trip is at 9:45 PM, and there's a timetable available at the front desk. The hotel is also only a ten-minute drive from the airport. The hotel's setting and views are absolutely beautiful, right on the lake. You can take a lovely stroll along the lakeside in the mornings, and the restaurant is right there, so you can enjoy the lake view while you eat. The hotel has a Western restaurant, a bar and restaurant, and a coffee shop. The breakfast buffet is served in the Western restaurant and opens at 6 AM, which is great for guests who want to get an early start on their sightseeing. The food selection is comprehensive and tasty too! We had dinner at the Western restaurant on our first night and it was excellent, the steak was fantastic! The bar and restaurant is also good; on our last day, we got back late from our Milford Sound tour and just ordered pizza and beer at the bar. The pizza was absolutely delicious! The bar atmosphere was great too! We booked a lake view king room, and the layout was nice, with full amenities. The hotel also has a pool, and the gym is open 24 hours. All in all, our stay and dining experience were very comfortable! Highly recommended!

The balcony in the room is recessed, so the lake view is a bit limited. Drinking water, a washing machine, dryer, and laundry detergent are provided, but disposable slippers, toothbrushes, and toothpaste are not, so you'll need to bring your own. It's also a bit of a drive or a lake bus ride to get to Queenstown's main street.

Absolutely loved it! The room was huge, brand new, and super comfortable, with a fantastic view. It's a shame we only stayed one night; we could even see the Milky Way from the large terrace at night. Despite being close to the airport, there were no planes taking off or landing at night, so it didn't disturb our sleep at all. The hotel restaurant was also delicious, especially the massive lamb shoulder.

The lake view room was beautiful, with a private balcony where you could see the lake as soon as you opened the window. It was super convenient to take a jet boat from the hotel straight to town. The service was excellent too, highly recommend!
