Pinewood Queenstown

Room facilities: The triple room was a bit small, and the window on the first floor didn't get much natural light (it faced a wall). We found some dander and hair on the beds, though not a lot. Service attitude: The staff at check-in were very friendly. The hotel is spread out like a 'resort' with many buildings. Staff marked our room location on a map and showed us how to get there (it wasn't far, just a short walk of a few dozen seconds). Both check-in and check-out were very convenient. Hotel location: You have to walk up a small slope to get to the hotel, but it's not too tiring. The overall location is good (very close to the skyline) and it's very quiet. It's also not far from the town.

I'm not sure why this place has a relatively low rating, because it's actually pretty good! When I booked, it said 'dormitory' so I thought it would be a large communal room, but it turned out to be a 5-person room. There are three dorm rooms in one big building, with two bathrooms, and then a separate building for showers. The value for money is absolutely fantastic! Even compared to other hostels, they offer free luggage storage right at the front desk, to the right. No need to worry about security at all. Even though I reluctantly booked a mixed dorm, everyone was really nice, and it was quiet at night. As for cleanliness, it was very clean by hostel standards. The front desk staff were also very nice; everyone was friendly. The walk to this place is a bit steep, a big uphill climb, but it's very scenic. You pass a grassy field where kids play, which is lovely. It's also very close to the center of 'Little Queenstown,' only about a 15-minute walk.

Location: Less than 1km from the lake, but it's an uphill walk. Room: Fairly spacious, clean, and hygienic. The bathroom was a bit small; perhaps they could have reduced the size of the bedroom or living room to make it bigger. Service: Room was cleaned daily. Facilities: Fully equipped with a microwave, fridge, stovetop, and all the pots and pans. Environment: Lots of flowers outside the house, which naturally meant many little bees. They don't sting, so it was tolerable. The main issue is that the small path from the room to the main road is gravel. It could use some improvement, otherwise it gets very muddy after rain, which would be a nightmare with luggage.

The room was great, very comfortable, and it even had a separate kitchen. It's definitely worth staying. I'd consider it again next time. Plus, it has a fridge and a balcony, so you can easily cook your own meals.
