Booked a room in Building 2 for three nights, and got an upgrade to the club floor. The room wasn't huge, but it had four beds, enough for two adults and two children, and the bathroom had a separate shower and toilet. The cable car is right downstairs, making skiing super convenient. There are tons of restaurants; we tried pizza, BBQ, ramen, and an izakaya, among others. The prices were reasonable, and everything tasted great. We'll definitely be back, highly recommend it!

The room was clean and tidy, and the location is very close to Naeba Ski Resort. The guesthouse offers a shuttle service every day, but even if you miss it, it's only a 5-10 minute walk back. The owners are a Chinese couple who have lived in Japan for many years; they are very warm and provide excellent service, which is especially convenient for Chinese travelers who don't speak Japanese. Thanks again to the owners for their warm hospitality, and for the delicious food (Gochisousama deshita)!

The B&B is very close to Naeba, within a ten-minute walk. If you want to take the bus from Prince Hotel, you can ask the owner to send you there. We booked a Japanese-style + private bathroom, which was well maintained, but there were no curtains on the windows, so it was very bright in the morning, and it would be noisy if other guests passed by. The B&B's large bath + hot spring pool is in the building opposite, so it is very convenient to take a shower. I have to praise the Western breakfast, the bread provided is delicious. Kinta-san is a very tasteful owner, very talkative, and the restaurant he recommended is also very delicious. I will stay here again next time I go.

It was very good for me! The lady at the front desk was a Chinese person who was fluent in Japanese and was very kind! I look forward to working with you again next time.
Located along Houshi River, Houshi Onsen Chojukan features a public hot spring bath, Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi and Japanese cuisine. A wooden building stemming from 100 years ago, the property breathes a historical atmosphere.
Rooms have a tatami (woven-straw) floor and a low table with seating cushions. A seating area at floor-to-ceiling windows offers nature views, and guests sleep in traditional futon bedding. Yukata robes are provided, while toilets and bathing facilities are shared.
A Japanese breakfast and dinner are served at the dining room.
The Houshi Chojukan Onsen hotel is a 20-minute drive from arts and crafts village Takumi-no-Sato. Mount Tanigawa-dake can be visited a 1-hour drive away.

We were in Hoshi Onsen 25 years ago, and we loved it so much that we decided to visit it once more during our recent Japan trip. Hoshi is one of the most traditional and older onsen in Japan, with more than one hundred years of history. Walking in its corridors or lingering in Hoshi-no-yu (the main indoor bath) you can really feel as if time had completely stopped and as you have plunged in a remote era. Yet it provides any possible comfort. Important renovations have been made, but always with great taste and respectful of tradition. Dinner is excellent and also the open air bath is really beautiful. The surroundings are also very nice and deserve a walk. It is a bit expensive, but no doubt worth the price

Amazing
GGuest UserThe best stay ever with exceptional service and super gorgeous room + private onsen. We enjoyed a complimentary welcome drink and dessert before they showed us to our room. The loft style japanese room was stunning, decorated with tasteful details. The best part was of course the onsen, we could watch snow as we enjoyed the soak. There was also a massage chair in the room haha.
The breakfast that we added on was really delicious too. The hotel provides pick up service to and fro train stations nearby, make sure to check with them prior to your arrival.
Something that warms our hearts is their quality service, e.g. they would warm our shoes before we head out as it was snowing outside etc.
Location wise, it's very near to Gala Yuzawa station. However, I think most restaurants are closer to Echigo Yuzawa station. So we would take a short walk there every night for dinner instead.
Sshaotian6209Despite its age, the hotel's rooms are well-maintained. The staff are friendly and efficient. It's very close to the train station, offering convenient transport, and there's a fantastic izakaya right on its doorstep.
PPriscilla^^The location is excellent, less than a 10-minute walk from Echigo-Yuzawa Station. There are convenience stores and restaurants nearby, so it's not a problem if you don't book breakfast or dinner at the hotel. The room is very spacious and comfortable, and the semi-open-air bath is fantastic. The public bath is also great and very large; the women's area has two indoor baths and one outdoor bath. The environment and facilities are both excellent.
AAnonymous UserGreat ryokan to stay in if you are skiing in the echigo yuzawa area. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which takes you to most of the ski slopes via the blue line/route shuttle bus. The rooms are big enough (japanese tatami style) and the onsens are wonderful to use after a day out in the mountains. The only issues I had were the laundry washing and drying coin machines. There are only 2 washers and 2 dryers. The cost is much higher than other hotels we have been to, and the dryer was unable to dry our clothes fully. The clothes were roughly 70-80% dry, to which we hung it in our room overnight to air dry. That being said, I would still choose to stay here again as the convenience and location are unmatched.
大大大小小东游西逛One of the nicest hotels we stayed in Japan. We had stayed in a traditional japanese room with Futon beds with an amazing view, compared to some hotels stayed in Tokyo, staff here were so kind, patient and helpful. We had come here to Ski which was wonderful as the resort comes with its own ski garden and lift passes which we were given (so generous and kind thank you!), there is also a lovely onsen onsite for hotel guests to use (free). Even though this resort may seem like a walk to the train station there is a timely shuttle bus service to and from with lovely staff there to help. Would recommend and definitely would come again!
GGuest UserI can't give this a good review!
I've stayed at so many ryokans with dinner and breakfast included, but this Futaba really left a lot to be desired! First off, the guy at the front desk checking us in was so quiet, he didn't even give us the most basic information like which floor the hot springs were on; he just handed us an all-English hotel guide. Second, this is the only onsen hotel I've ever stayed in where the bathroom smelled, and even the carpet in the entryway by the toilet had a urine smell... Then, the hot spring was just a regular public bath, and there wasn't even an ice pop after soaking. Finally, when we left, the staff didn't help us bring our luggage from the lobby to the shuttle bus. I had to drag it to the bus myself, and then the staff finally came out to open the door and help us load it in. (We were the only family on the bus at the time) It's just a really hard experience to rate...
HHulowindOverall great experience over three nights, loved the public and private bath, great hospitality, room was spacious and very clean. Two issues : walls are very thin and a noisy neighbor can very quickly drive you crazy (experienced during first night) and the blinds are not fully blacked out, leaving early morning lights waking us up (a matter of taste and minor issue).
AAKLTGreat value for money, very satisfied overall.
1) Convenience store nearby
2) Ski rental shop nearby
3) Acceptable walking distance to the Shinkansen station
4) Daily room cleaning service
5) The owner is very kind and friendly
6) Laundry room and drying facilities for clothes and ski gear available
7) Would be even more perfect for ski enthusiasts if they had a car
JJennifer EspinaThe place is comfy. Heater is used everywhere
The driver of the taxi didn’t see Yuzawa Yukinado in the Google Map, instead he saw Hotel Justice which is the same . That building is where you check in and have breakfast. The building next door is where the rooms are.
The staff are very helpful. They accommodated us even we arrived late. You just have to message or call them beforehand.
JJCjiexiJCWe booked this hotel with the whole family to meet up with friends for a ski trip. It's an older hotel that recently reopened, and the facilities are decently maintained. If you're looking for a super luxurious experience, this might not be the place for you. However, the number of rooms and the space are quite generous for Japan, and all basic facility needs are met. Plus, there's an onsen and open-air bath on the top floor, which was incredibly therapeutic after a day of skiing. The front desk staff were all sweet, kind young women who spoke Chinese and provided thoughtful and attentive service throughout our stay. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the Orange/Blue line, making it easy to get to the ski resort and the train station. The family room offered excellent value for money and comes highly recommended.
