"We drove to the hotel for one night stay near Aso Mountain. Free parking available. Beautiful view, and we are able to catch the sunset by 18:00 after checking in. We chose to enjoy the onsen first before buffet dinner. We did the right thing, as after onsen, we are starving. They provide a range of fish sashimi , horse sashimi, sushi, noodles, bbq, hot dishes. All you can drink for me yay! There's free ramen at 9:30-10:30 and I had a bowl of specially made ramen before bed. Buffet breakfast is also spot on, we had a full stomach before heading to other locations around Aso the other day. Great deal, great service! And there's Kumamoto souvenirs for last minute purchase!"

"It's a traditional Japanese-style hotel, located a ten-minute drive from the Aso volcano crater. I chose the option that included dinner and breakfast. There was a charcoal stove for making soup, a traditional Japanese specialty."

"Very well kept and clean onsen ryokan with two private onsens that can be booked, and gender separated large onsens. Food and service was also very good. Well appointed and large rooms with all amenities required including shower and toilet."

"Very beautiful place, and the room was truly excellent: spacious, bright, warm, with impeccable bedding and cleanliness. The bathroom is large and includes a bathtub, and the room is very well equipped (electric kettle, small kitchen, large refrigerator). It was also possible to arrange horseback riding and get onsen tickets, which is a real plus. However, for backpackers, this accommodation is not ideal at all. It is very far from everything: – FamilyMart: about a 27-minute walk – Bus stop: about a 21-minute walk – Mount Aso Museum: around 1h15 total (including 20 minutes on foot) – Aso Station: about a 1h15 walk A small anecdote: we first climbed up to the accommodation carrying our 10 kg backpacks, only to see on the door that check-in is actually done at the bottom. It would be helpful to indicate this more clearly downstairs, or at least make it easier to notice for foreign travelers, as we missed the information 😅 Finally, for those planning to walk to the Aso Museum or hiking areas, the path indicated at the end of the residential area near the accommodation does not exist."
