Hotel provided spacious room with queen beds for our twin bedroom. Seafacing room. Kindly Accommodated request for wheelchair, shower chair, in room diningfor my elderly relative companion. Check in was fast & efficient. Service is efficient and unobtrusive. No issues with security. Noted cosmopolitan guests and the hotel with bustling but not overly crowded. Fair mix of couples and families. Ample covered car parking around the back with access to both Jalan Gurney & Jalan Kelawei. Strategic location allows short rides to Gurney Drive & Pulau Tikus Hawker food area. Proximity to Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon shopping is added bonus.Gurney Bay park allows many locals & tourists to walk or jog along the former Esplanade. The hotel staff were all very polite, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. They even noted my request and gave me a quiet room with no noise. The breakfast was decent, and the coffee was strong and really woke me up. There's a mall right to the left when you exit, and a supermarket downstairs. Across the street, there's a 7-Eleven, and GAMA also has a supermarket downstairs. It's a moderate distance to tourist attractions, about a 20-minute walk, and about a 30-minute drive to the airport if there's no traffic. Little India is nearby, so there are quite a few Indian people around. I'm not used to it since I don't know much about the culture, but we mostly kept to ourselves. However, after each room cleaning, we'd find a few long hairs that weren't ours, which I hope they can improve upon.

The hotel exceeds my expectations. The room has sleek interior design and is spacious and clean. The amenities look new and well maintained by repurposing rooms in the 15th floor. The lobby and the complimentary coffee is great too! Location wise, not much going around the hotel but grab is easy and quite near to Georgetown too. It’s just that my room has a weird smell near the bathroom (probably from sanitation/sewage) because it smells the same in the toilet near the swimming pool. Not a dealbreaker because the smell is quite contained and you won’t smell it from your bed or anything but it may be the first smell that welcomes you as you enter the room as the bathroom/toilet is area is just beside the door.

I was upgraded to a Deluxe room but it was at the extreme corner next to the service staircase. Grateful for the upgraded but the room conditions were not up to par . Hair in shower room , the shower holder fell when I was taking it out and it dropped on my toe . Hence the blue black toe shown ( hehe ) . I could not sleep the whole night as the air con was very very noisy even when I lower the adjustment. The day curtain was torn . I sound it out to reception the next morning to see whether they can change my room as I was staying for another 2 nights . They did and I reckoned it was another up grade as now the room has a standing shower room . In the other previous room , you have to stand in the bath tub to shower and for a man of 65 , it is a bit tricky . The hotel really needs an up grade too . It is in a good location and CAT bus is nearby . The CAT shuttle is a complimentary bus that moves around the town area . The saving grace for my trip was that the staff was up to par and reacted quickly . Well done on this . Now , I wait for my toe to heal .

The room is very large and comfortable. Great value for money. Cleanliness: The hygiene conditions are also good, and the room is tidied up every day. Environment: The hotel is located right opposite The Top. It's in a relatively central location in George Town, making it convenient to go anywhere.

Had an excellent stay here. Greeted with dessert when we reached for check in. Check in and check out process was smooth. Porch parking was available onsite. Staffs and security was extremely welcoming and friendly. Room was spacious, and clean. Air conditioning was working well. Toilet was clean. Thank you for the excellent stay. For solo travelers like me, this place is incredibly convenient because of its excellent transportation links. All the main attractions – whether it's the beach, historic houses, restaurants, or various downtown spots – are within walking distance. I stayed here for a week and didn't need a single taxi. In the evenings, I could just stroll out to a bar or find some great food. I even made quite a few friends! The hotel's restaurant is also very good. Overall, the value for money here is exceptional.

Overall, a good and practical hotel for the price and location. Nothing too fancy, but it did what we needed it to do. Location was convenient, easy enough to move around George Town, get food, and get Grab when needed. The part I appreciated most was the front desk/reception. We had to leave very early in the morning for our train from Butterworth, and there was also a last-minute issue with our rented bike return. Reception helped us keep the helmets and keys so the rental company could collect them later. That kind of practical help matters when you are travelling and trying to sort things out early in the morning. Room was okay, location was good, and the hotel was convenient for a short stay in Penang. Not a luxury hotel, but for a simple city stay, it was reliable and useful. Would definitely consider staying again.

Hotel location is a plus point, surrounded by many local restaurants and cafe, just the car parking spaces are very limited, not so convenient for the visitor who drives car. No mineral water provided, need to get filtered water outside the room. in front of hotel has many trees and you would have high chance to hit by bird shits every day.

The hotel's facilities are a bit dated. The cabinets, doors, and bathroom counter in the room all show their age, and there's no magnifying mirror at the vanity. This likely relates to when it was last renovated; it's not very stylish, but it is clean, which is good. The service, however, is excellent, meeting five-star hotel standards without a doubt. They provide disposables, complimentary bottled water, welcome fruits, a breakfast buffet, and executive lounge access (depending on room type). The restaurant's decor has also been updated. I had a great experience with one particular staff member. I had booked an executive room, and upon check-in, the front desk assigned me a connecting room without informing me. The soundproofing was terrible; I could clearly hear people showering and talking in the next room, which severely disrupted my sleep. After I explained the situation to the front desk, they worked hard to switch me to another room of the same type, which was much better and very comfortable. I'd like to especially commend Hanz at the front desk for their prompt action in changing my room, which allowed me to get a good night's sleep. Regarding the location, just across the road is Shangri-La's Jen hotel. Its decor and facilities visibly appear newer and better. However, it's much lower in height and doesn't offer the good views this hotel does. If you're looking for a sea view room, this hotel is worth it. If views aren't a priority, you might want to compare the two. This hotel is about 1km from many attractions in the old town, including Jay Chou's favorite restaurant, the street art murals, Kimberley Street Food Night Market, and Chew Jetty. These are all pleasant to explore in the evening. It's too hot at midday, so I'd recommend taking a taxi or staying at the hotel.
