MeishiqushaishaitaiyangheyueliangExcellent location, right next to the scenic area entrance. The hotel is very large with many rooms and good facilities. However, the air conditioning was poor. We wanted to move rooms to be closer together, but there were no options available. After not moving, they provided a space heater, but it was still a bit cold at night. Breakfast was decent, though some of the hot dishes weren't heated sufficiently or at all, so they felt a bit cold. Everything else was great.
Grassland photo shoot experience (3 selected photos/room): We didn't get to enjoy this, and the front desk didn't mention it.

Anonymous UserThe rooms are equipped with both diffused oxygen supply and an oxygen concentrator, which even comes with disposable oxygen tubes. This is especially great for tourists who are new to Tashkurgan and are not yet acclimated to the high-altitude environment. The rooms are clean and tidy, with plenty of amenities. They also have a children's activity room, laundry room, and gym. Breakfast is also very rich and varied.

Guest UserThis hotel is excellent! Our room had a direct view of the 'Golden Mountain in the Sunlight' in the afternoon, which was stunning. A big thanks to the manager for upgrading us to a room with a bathtub. The hotel itself is very new and modern. The next day, they conveniently arranged a complimentary transfer to the airport. The complimentary souvenir, especially the milk jujubes with nuts inside, was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was incredibly rich and diverse, with a great selection of tasty side dishes. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.

Travis and ElishaWow! What an amazing place to stay and how lucky we were to find it. By far the best place we stayed in China. Mrs. Li (the owner) was so genuinely nice and caring, and we felt like part of the family staying there. One of my favorite things in Kashgar was hanging out with her and her family in the evenings. She always invited us at night to hangout in the common area where she would make us tea and share her fresh and dried fruits with us. She was really good at using a translator app, so we were able to have a good conversation with her through that.
She has a great little family. Her son speaks good English and was also very nice. She had a young daughter who also speaks English, but is more shy with it (though she will sing you a Taylor Swift song..she has a great voice). They have 3 cats and the youngest one, little tiger, is just the sweetest and the friendliest cat I have ever met.
It was such a good and warm feeling to stay there. We definitely wish we could visit again. A home away from home. And we were treated so generously in more ways than we can write here.
Mrs. Li asked us right away if there was anything she could help us with, without us having to ask, which we really appreciated, and she took the time to sit down with us to go over our plans. She let us store our luggage for 3 days and walked us out to help us get a taxi when we departed.
While it was the family that made it simply amazing, some might also be interested in the following information.
The location is great. On a quiet street. Close to the big mosque which is a good landmark to use to find the area. And of course close to the old city. It's also really close to the biggest supermarket we have found thus far in China (we have to admit it was nice to get a few ”luxuries” from home like cereal and hot chocolate).
The guesthouse is cute and has a Central Asian feel. The shower works great and is hot. We were there in the winter, and the room has heat if you needed it. Mrs. Li was able to arrange a driver for us to go to Tashkorgun and the Karakorum Highway, which was super helpful. The place was nice and clean.
Thank you so much Mrs. Li! You will be a highlight of our visit to China and will be remembered in our hearts forever.
-Travis and Elisha (Colorado, USA)
PS: when we get home I'm going to try to write up a bit about our trip on Tripadvisor because I couldn't find anything about Kashgar on trip advisor since covid, and some things have changed, so I thought it might be helpful for fellow travelers, so look for that.

Guest UserIf you’re looking for an unforgettable stay that combines the beauty of nature with five-star comfort, look no further than Shire Stargazing Ultimate Glamping. They have truly perfected the meaning of glamping (glamorous + camping) in every single way.
From the moment we arrived, the staff’s hospitality and service were not just comparable to world-class 5-star hotels in many ways, they exceeded them. As a non-Chinese speaking guest, I was a little nervous at first, but the team went above and beyond to make me feel completely at ease. Their cheerful smiles and genuine warmth were so heartwarming. What touched me the most? They constantly checked on my fiancée, who is vegetarian, making sure she had wonderful options at every meal. Seeing that level of care for her meant the world to me. They even carried my heavy luggage to the room❤️
Activities (both paid and free):
They have horseback riding with the on-site coach – highly recommend (yes, it's a paid service). For free activities, there’s a giant swing (reminiscent of the one in Kalajun Grassland), archery, and the most beautiful, calm animals: two incredibly cute lambs, a cow, several horses, and the sweetest little dog who will greet you. If you’re nervous around animals, don’t worry – they are the chillest, calmest creatures and will only approach if you call them.
Food: 10/10. My fiancée said it was the best meal she had in all of Xinjiang. Cooked by the wonderful Ah Po and Ah Gong, every dish felt like a loving home-cooked meal made by grandparents. There’s also an adorable cafe hut (though we didn’t get coffee – we were too busy being in awe of everything around us).
Room standards: This is where they truly shine. Air conditioning, heater, soft comfy bed, overhead curtains to open or close for stargazing, fridge, hairdryer, lighted mirror, heated toilet – and spotlessly clean. We slept like a baby.
And finally… stargazing.
This is exactly why I chose this place. We stayed up until 3 AM, completely mesmerized by a sky full of stars like I’ve never seen before. I’ll let the photos I uploaded do the talking. 😁 (I have added the settings I used on iPhone to take the photos, bring a stand and on night mode:30s with exposure adjustment and ProRAW turned on)
Thank you, Shire Stargazing Ultimate Glamping, for giving us a truly magical experience. We can’t wait to come back again! Highly recommend all couples and families to come here

Maidoumm^(oo)^Booked two rooms here. Originally, we planned to stay in Fuyun because we were going to Tianchi the next day. However, since we'd already made it all the way to Urumqi, we decided to stay for a night and explore. We booked this hotel last minute. It's very close to the Grand Bazaar, about an 8-10 minute walk, and the area around it is bustling with activity. Finding food is super convenient; there are restaurants and a small mall downstairs. The price was a bit on the higher side, but the great location makes up for it! It really depends on what you're looking for.

rijqulThe room was very clean and well-maintained, feeling quite premium, and the service was excellent. Right next door, Elijiang Cuisine offers authentic local food, and the fruit market nearby has incredibly cheap fruit, just 2 RMB a jin! You can totally indulge in roasted buns, naan, fruits, Xinjiang lamb skewers, and Da Pan Ji (big plate chicken) to your heart's content. The location is fantastic, and I'll definitely stay here again next time. Plus, with police on duty 24/7, it feels very safe!

Excellent service and a very clean, spacious room with comfortable bedding. The location is fantastic, right at the entrance of the ancient city. Popular spots like the century-old teahouse, Id Kah Mosque, Rainbow Alley, Buidai Alley, 'Grandpa's Grandpa's Father's Nang' (a famous naan shop), and Oil Painting Street are all just a stone's throw from Guilai Inn. There are plenty of local eateries downstairs, making dining very convenient. The owner is very welcoming, and the soundproofing in the rooms is excellent. The night views are beautiful and captivating. Plus, there are bus stops nearby for easy access to the airport and train station. It was a pleasant trip and I highly recommend it; you definitely won't regret staying at this inn.

I think it's fantastic! I arrived in early June, and the front desk upgraded me to a suite for free, which was a wonderful surprise! I thoroughly checked the bathroom, and it was very clean. Consumables in the room, including drinks and nut snacks, were replenished promptly. I'll definitely come back again and highly recommend staying here.
