GGuest UserThe butler and proprietress here are incredibly warm and welcoming. When the butler heard we were going to the scenic area, he immediately offered to drive us there without a second thought. In the evening, the proprietress saw we hadn't eaten yet and invited us to join them for a home-cooked meal. That pot of cured beef was absolutely divine, with an authentic Hunan flavor. Breakfast wasn't limited to just a few items; you could order whatever you wanted. The toasted bread deserves special mention – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Paired with a cup of their signature berry tea, that's what a peaceful morning in the mountains feels like.
Stepping through the door, you can tell a lot of thought went into the design: solid wood complementing marble, high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, rattan furniture, and a splash of red chair, all harmonizing perfectly. The dried lotus pods in the hallway and the photos of peaks on the wall are all Zhangjiajie through the proprietress's lens – stone peaks in the mist, terraced fields in the morning. Wang Wei's line, ”White clouds turn back and gather, green mist enters and disappears,” suddenly made sense. Treehouses are built along the mountain slope; stepping out, you're enveloped by mist, leaves, and the scent of the mountains. This place feels more like a mountain retreat lovingly nurtured.
There are also thoughtful details that make you feel well taken care of: both a washing machine and a dryer are available, which is great because it's humid in the mountains, so you don't have to save clothes to wash at home. Toiletries, a first-aid kit, smart home features, and rattan diffusers in the room are all provided. The most remarkable thing is how clean it is – corners, crevices, bedding, everything looks spotless at first glance, and it remained that way even on our third day.
Our experience at Cloudland Garden during our stay in Zhangjiajie completely exceeded expectations. The scenery itself is free, but the feeling of being genuinely cared for is what this place provides. Next time we visit, we'll definitely stay here again.

For this trip to Zhangjiajie, we spent the first two nights enjoying a slow pace on the west side, then moved to the Guanzhi S B&B near the East Gate for the next two nights.
This B&B positions itself as a boutique hotel, not just a regular guesthouse. From the moment you step in, you know it's something special – an artist's entrance, with an artistic atmosphere permeating every corner. The details are meticulously crafted. Many guests here are international tourists and discerning travelers who appreciate quality. It's no exaggeration to say this is the most thoughtful and attentive service I've ever experienced.

The B&B is about 50 meters from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, making park access incredibly convenient. However, because it's so close to the scenic area, it's located in a restricted zone. ⚠️ You MUST use Didi (ride-hailing app) to get directly to the B&B's doorstep. Plus, the hotel offers a 7-seater shuttle service, so transportation is a breeze for families. It's also easy to find restaurants after leaving the park, as the area around the East Gate is full of eateries.

We stayed in a bathtub king room. The room isn't huge but is exquisite in every detail. The bedding is comfortable, and a relaxing soak in the tub at night washes away all the day's fatigue. If you need anything, just scan the QR code by the bed, and it'll be delivered in minutes – a godsend for busy parents!

Forgot kids' toothbrushes, slippers, or shower gel? The B&B has it all; just ask the front desk, and they'll bring it to your room. There's also a 5 sqm kids' play area with a slide, building blocks, and a small rocking horse. Once the kids are in there, they won't want to leave.

WWodemengxiangshilvxingjiaManxin was the third boutique hotel I chose for my trip to Hunan. It's located in a village nestled in the mountains. The owner leased nearly a hundred acres of land to create the idyllic farm he envisioned. Several two-story buildings are artfully scattered amidst rice paddies and lotus ponds. An infinity pool offers unparalleled views of the distant mountains. The rice seedlings have just been planted, and in a few months, one can truly experience the scene described by Xin Qiji: 'A bountiful harvest is spoken of amidst the fragrance of rice flowers, as the croaking of frogs fills the air.'
**Environment:** The hotel's environment is exceptional. Surrounded by distant mountains, perched on a gentle slope, every room offers expansive views of lush greenery. The rice fields are close by, and at night, the sound of frogs fills the air. Each room boasts a large balcony. Sitting there, breathing in the fresh mountain air, sipping a cup of tea or coffee, time seems to slow down.
**Hygiene:** The hotel's hygiene is top-notch. Despite being surrounded by farmland, there are surprisingly no mosquitoes or other insects in the rooms, which is quite rare.
**Facilities:** As a meticulously crafted guesthouse, it offers all the amenities of a high-end hotel, especially the infinity pool with its unbeatable mountain views – truly an inspired touch. Of course, as a 'wild luxury' (my own definition) hotel, to encourage guests to truly reconnect with nature, the rooms intentionally lack televisions. This thoughtful decision is commendable!
**Service:** Being far from the city, service is particularly important for guests. The hotel provides dedicated butlers who promptly address guests' questions and requests. Their efficiency is high, usually responding to guests almost immediately. The hotel offers complimentary airport/train station transfers, as well as unlimited complimentary transfers to the Zimu Pass (middle gate) of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, which is incredibly helpful for guests.
**In summary:** This is a uniquely positioned hotel. For travelers who love nature, appreciate peace and a slower pace, and have high standards for hotel quality, this hotel is definitely worth a short stay.
**Final Suggestion:** Given its rural location, its own farmland, and the fact that it raises poultry and bees, the hotel should further leverage its unique advantages in terms of ingredients and cuisine. It could also appropriately guide local farmers to cultivate organic vegetables, fruits, and various eco-friendly produce, making a beneficial contribution to rural revitalization. I believe some guests would appreciate this.

What I liked:
Laundry and drying service, shuttle service to attractions, Chinese and Western dinner (breakfast had fewer options).
What I didn't like:
The room had no internet for the two days I stayed, and the issue was never resolved. The bathroom mirror light was faulty, and the feedback after reporting it was that it couldn't be fixed. It at least had a light before I reported it, but after reporting it, it went completely dark.

We stayed 2 nights in the Morning Glow King Suite Bedroom. The highlight of this homestay is its cave concept. The reception area is huge, impressive, and beautifully designed, creating a real wow factor upon arrival.
The property also features a cave restaurant where breakfast is served, and dinner can be arranged with advance booking. There is also a cosy cave lounge for guests to relax.
Our room was large, comfortable, and very clean. The facilities were well maintained and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing.
Location is excellent. The homestay is hidden behind the famous theatre performance venue but only a short walk to the main street, making it convenient while remaining quiet.
Highly recommended for travellers looking for a unique accommodation experience in Zhangjiajie. The cave setting alone makes it worth staying here.

This is going to be a long review because we had such a fantastic stay, but tl;dr, highly highly recommend this hotel. If you’re looking for great service and beautiful views, this is the place.
From the very start, before even checking in, the Hidden Hills Villa team reached out and let us know that they would be arranging transportation for us from wherever we were coming from (high speed rail station, airport, etc). They also asked us to add them on WeChat for the 24 hour butler service (we asked for some necessities one night and they delivered it within a few minutes). They added us to a group chat with the chef, front desk for amenities, and the owners Joyce and Ethan themselves. Before we even got to the hotel, our breakfasts for the next day were ordered and our itinerary was made by Joyce (more on that). We felt bad because we were checking in late at around 11:30pm because we were running late from our previous excursions. But Joyce and Ethan were more than accommodating and still greeted us to go through everything. Their warm welcome was much appreciated after such a long day.
Since we got there at night, we couldn’t see the views yet but the hotel itself was already spectacular. The room was very clean and has a nice relaxing concept. The room was stocked with tea (grown in the mountains of Zhangjiajie), water and other beverages, and snacks, all of which are restocked everyday. The bed felt great, even for my mom who is very picky with her mattresses. They also have a regular pillow and a memory foam pillow, variety for all kinds of sleepers which I love. We booked 2 rooms and both were great. I tend to be picky with bathrooms and this one was very clean and the showers had great pressure and the soaps were stocked.
On to the breakfast. We tried the western breakfast the first day and the Chinese breakfast the next day. We enjoyed both - fresh ingredients and great taste. The chef was also very kind and efficient - we gave them the time we wanted breakfast and he had them ready immediately upon entering the room. We unfortunately sat next to some guests who were slightly rude to the chef but he handled it gracefully and moved on. They also offer lunch and dinner options for purchase but our schedule didn’t allow us to try it out, but they have western and Chinese options that looked good.
We loved that this place is far enough from everything that you still have that secluded feel but close enough to the city that rides there only took a few minutes. From the hotel, you have direct views of the Avatar mountains and we were always in awe by how beautiful they looked.
Joyce is an English speaking tour guide so she was very knowledgeable with everything. She sent me a very detailed itinerary based on our preferences - we followed it exactly and saw everything we wanted to see in Zhangjiajie. She also educated us a lot on the local culture and shared tea and wine with us. She was so welcoming and a great host! Ethan was also incredibly kind and made sure we had our transportation in order when leaving the hotel. Joyce and Ethan have a wonderful concept here at Hidden Hills Villa, and we definitely will be back.
The only thing we didn’t get to do was the calligraphy that they offer because we didn’t have the time. But we got a peek at the room and it looks very authentic and fun!

JJo_SAmazing lovely hotel right next to the East entrance to the Forest Park. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. It's brand new with excellent facilities and lovely building architecture. But the most important for me was how nice the staff were! Xiao Dai the hotel keeper was extremely welcoming and helpful, and everyone else were also super sweet. Just what a big difference is made by people who do their best and take their job seriously. I really appreciate that and this is what makes my travel in China most memorable experience.

GGuest UserWe had a one night stay in this beautiful place. We received snacks, water, and watermelon upon our arrival (my favorite fruit!)) Everything was clean, bathroom was modern, and the hotel was able to get us a ride to the hotel at no charge. This was great as they helped with all the luggage straight into the room. They also booked a car for us to the train station. DiDi is difficult in this area so we appreciate the hotel accommodating us. Thank you for everything, highly recommend this hotel!

TTianzaigaowodekuailezhishangI had a great stay at the Yujie Hotel during my visit to Zhangjiajie. The hotel has a clean and grand ambiance, with a bright and tidy lobby. The corridors and common areas are tastefully decorated, making me feel very relaxed. The location is also a big plus, not far from the scenic area and major attractions in the city, making travel convenient. It's also easy to find places to eat and buy local specialties nearby, and accessible whether you're taking a taxi or driving.
The room facilities are relatively new, with well-functioning air conditioning, hot water, TV, and Wi-Fi. The bedding was just right in terms of firmness, allowing for a very comfortable sleep. Breakfast is worth commending; there was a rich variety of dishes, including hot food, pastries, fruits, porridge, noodles, and more, all tasting good. Eating a full breakfast before heading up the mountain gave me plenty of energy. The front desk and service staff were enthusiastic and efficient, responding quickly to any issues.
The only thing I felt could be improved was the cleanliness details.
Overall, it's excellent value for money. I would consider staying here again on my next trip to Zhangjiajie and would recommend it to friends planning to visit.
