Decided to have an impromptu one night stay at Holiday Villa JB during CNY - a hotel we have stayed at for a few times already. Slightly dated but still quite well maintained. The carpark ramps are the only scary thing - so narrow that most Singaporeans just opt for the 35RM per entry valet. Kalaivani at the Reception was really friendly and funny! They have very little double bed units but thankfully we got one. Due to CNY, fire crackers were being popped until almost 1am! Don’t think this is a good option for families with small children who need to sleep early. Thanks for a good stay!

Staffs were really good, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They answered all our questions and made sure everything went smoothly.
The hotel is clean and location is convenient, close to KSL. Below the hotel there is a small old school food court selling nice yummy hawker food. If you want extra decor for your room or event, it's available at an additional cost. Best to check with the hotel directly for what's offered and how much it is.
Photo attached is the simple decoration surprise for my hubby. Last but not least thank you the Dian, for the arrangement.

My husband and I had a pleasant stay here! We were warmly greeted by receptionist Aini if I’m not mistaken. We were extremely grateful when she gave is the early check in and birthday cake specially for my husband’s birthday.
The room was extremely comfortable and the facilities provided by the hotel was amazing. To top it all off, the breakfast spread was too good to be true haha. The concept of having the infused and sugar syrup intrigued me!

Had a wonderful stay at Amari Johor Bahru. The hotel is modern, clean, and very well maintained. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to relax after a long day.
The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help, which made the stay even more pleasant. Breakfast had a good variety with both local and international options, and everything was fresh and tasty.
Location is excellent—conveniently connected to the mall and close to key attractions, making it easy to get around. Overall, a great hotel with excellent service and comfort.
The front desk staffs are very friendly and informative. The lobby area is big and comfy with a coffee vending machine. Need to travel out of this hotel to get lunch/dinner/supper and shopping and entertainment. The car park for hotel are at 1st level that are free for hotel guests.
Our king size beds are very big. The rooms are big too. There is hair dryer in the toilet. The curtain in the shower is old and dirty but usable. The towels are old and not white anymore. House slippers are given but one pair looks dirty or being used. Housekeeping staffs are helpful and friendly.
The TV not easy to operation or the channels need sometime to load. The next building(residential) is so close that we have to keep our curtains close all the time.
The swimming pool and breakfast cafe are located at 5th level that are common area with the residents.
The cafe is non Aircon and is open concept, their fans are cooling enough for comfortable for breakfast. The breakfast buffet is simple and tasty. Not alot of variety but enough to be full.
The hot Spring is great, very hot. It has 2 normal pools inside and a sauna room. There's toilets and showers too. Friday and Saturday timming is 4pm to 10pm.
Room Condition:
The hotel is quite old and a bit rundown, so it’s understandable that the furniture is also aged. The table lamp/study light looked worn out and could use some maintenance.
Service:
Check-in at the front desk was smooth, but we faced an issue with the TV in our room. We couldn’t watch any channels at all. At first, we thought it might be due to the weather, but the TV in my parents’ room worked fine. We scanned the QR code to request assistance and received only “Noted” as a response. We sent two messages and got the same reply both times. Since there was no follow-up, we went to the front desk to report it in person, but unfortunately, no action was taken until we checked out. That was quite disappointing.
Car Park:
Try to avoid parking directly under the trees, as there are quite a lot of weaver ants around the area.
Breakfast Buffet:
The breakfast buffet was okay. The kurma chicken tasted more like ayam ungkep, which was a bit misleading, but I actually loved it since I really like ayam ungkep.

I always booked here and it never disappoints me. Easy checking in and easy checking out. Food is not bad, its just not much choices but still fine for me. And the lifts are quiet fast which is good if you are rushing. Amenities are basic. All in all good!

Highly recommended for a quiet and relaxing staycation
We had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed how peaceful and comfortable this place is. The unit was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with complete amenities that made our stay very convenient. The view was absolutely lovely, perfect for slow mornings, coffee by the balcony, and winding down after a long day.
What we appreciated most was how quiet and relaxing the environment felt, despite being very accessible near the restaurants, malls, convenience store and transportation. Everything we needed was nearby, yet the place still gave that calm, private staycation atmosphere. The room was so clean with aircon and ceiling fan, bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the kitchen setup was practical, got also Ironing board, hairdryer, toiletries.
Overall, this is a great spot for anyone looking to rest, recharge, and enjoy a peaceful staycation with a nice view. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to friends and family.
Thank you so much again.

YYL_SnoopyIf you like a quiet, cosy place that give you a resort feel, then this hotel will be a good choice.
Initially booked this hotel is because wanting to try the Gem Spa, as previously I tried their other outlet which was very good. But sadly due to time constraints, we didn't manage to go the spa.
What I like about this hotel is, there is a hard rock within the hotel. So if you do not want to travel 15mins out, then you can actually chill and eat there.
The room is cosy but sadly that even I had booked the sea view, the view was not directly. I was allocated a room that faced the road and far right is the sea. But the plus point is I have a bathtub.
Overall the service is good, breakfast is average and the occupancy of the hotel is high but you do not feel crowded.
GGuest UserVisited this hotel years ago before Covid. Revisited after 7 years. No change to the overall look and feel. Feeling not too bad.
Location: Good near Bukit Indah Aeon. Difficult to come in given we now don’t drive Bus network no good. Not coming in anytime soon.
Service: Good. Counter staff allow early check in and given us high floor.
Cleanliness: Good, basic stuff provided. Nothing fancy.
Room: Lightings is dim, not enough lighting. TV channels cannot load due to poor wifi. YouTube Netflix cannot watch too. A bit disappointed.
Breakfast: OK comes with Nasi Lemak, Noodles / Porridge section. Pastries and bread.
OOlive erThe hotel is old but well taken care. The check in and check out process needs to be improved, took too long.
The breakfast charge is over priced. I paid Rm50.88 per meal for my 7 year old kid. And the breakfast varieties are very normal, very limited choices.
The environment to eat is also very messy, people queue up for 10-15mins just to get the omelettes. Probably due to long holidays, it’s hard to find a table to sit down and eat. Shortage of workers to clean the table and to clean the room too. Our room only managed to be clean at 5pm.
The room is clean, the staff are friendly to help. We enjoy the beach and the pool, the pool is very friendly for kids.
The hotel also provides many other activities.

GGuest UserWe went to Tunamaya with a very low expectation considering more negatives than positives reviews by others.
Our check in process were seamless & fast. We took the family room with queen and single bed just nice for a small family
Room were clean to our surprise, just that the bathroom sink looked worn out with many years of usage and a leaking aircond which they fix it promptly. Breakfast was decent, enough food for everyone
We have no other complaints given the cleanliness of room, a beach front room view and a private beach. We also love the seafood at Desaru Corner which we ate dinner all the time for 3 days - just 9 minutes away by car
Of course, we have to go home with Baby Kai! As a souvenir for my little one on our memories in Tunamaya
AAnonymous UserHotel stay is over all good experience , it has all the facilities required especially Spices restaurant is good for Indian food . it has Splash water park which is free for the guests in the. hotel.
AAin_Our first stay at Anantara Desaru Coast Resort was nothing short of exceptional, as we celebrated our first wedding anniversary here. From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality and attention to detail truly stood out. The team thoughtfully prepared a lovely surprise for us, which made our celebration even more special and memorable.
Throughout our stay, the service was consistently top-notch; professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, always offering helpful guidance and prompt assistance whenever needed.
The resort itself is beautifully maintained, with breathtaking views across the property and impeccable cleanliness in both the rooms and common areas. There is a wide variety of daily activities available, including paid experiences. However, we highly recommend staying over the weekend to fully maximise your stay and enjoy more complimentary resort activities.
We were also introduced to their villa options, which offer additional perks, enhanced privacy, and even better views, something we are definitely considering for our next visit. Overall, this was a luxurious, relaxing, and unforgettable experience. We truly look forward to returning to Anantara Desaru Coast Resort in the future.

NNisaKaderMy husband and me had an awesome stay at Hard Rock Hotel Desaru. The room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with filtered drinking water provided in the room and all the amenities exactly as listed.
I arrived early at around 10am and was pleasantly surprised to get my room by 11:45am, which was a huge bonus. The 24-hour buggy service to and from the beach was very convenient and made getting around effortless.
The view facing the water park was beautiful, especially overlooking the landscaped area at the back. Watching the sunrise and sunset from there was truly relaxing. In the evening, the live Hard Rock band performance created such a great vibe. It was lovely to sit back with a drink and soak in the atmosphere. The hotel breakfast was awesome too. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I’ll definitely book this hotel again.
