The hotel upgraded me to a sunset view room, which I absolutely loved! The room was huge and even had a balcony. It was raining that day, but thankfully, we had the balcony where we could enjoy dessert soup, admire the view, and browse on our phones – it was so relaxing. The hotel service was also excellent. They called me before check-in and after I added their concierge on WeChat, they sent me all the hotel information, including Wi-Fi details and contact numbers. They even provided tips for restaurants and attractions, which was incredibly helpful for a first-time visitor like me. The hotel is very close to the Twin Towers and Elephant Trunk Hill, both within walking distance. We also strolled to Zhengyang Pedestrian Street and East-West Alley, all very convenient – the location is superb! Right behind the hotel, through an alley, there's a residential area with many small eateries, so even if you don't get breakfast at the hotel, you won't struggle to find food. Plus, even though I didn't book breakfast, I could still go to the dining hall in the morning and grab two cups of coffee to go – I absolutely loved that, a coffee lover's dream come true! Oh, and they also offer complimentary dessert soup in the evenings, but you need to pick it up from the lobby.
Very clean and confirmed. Light switches and outlets by head board. Pool was nice, sometimes it is heated. Office staff super nice. Even though i checked out they still let me from same day and use the lobby bathroom to change. If my room hadn't already been cleaned they would have let me wash off but wasn't a big deal to me. Walking right outside there are plenty of places to eat and xijie west street is a straight shot about 10min walk from here. They offer mopeds to rent as well but i didn't used that service.

Best breakfast in China!
Xiaoming was very helpful with anything we needed and very generous.
There are e-scooters to use, which you really need. Guilin traffic is not for the feint heated though and this is certainly not the place to learn to ride an old e-scooter.
At first I wondered why I had booked a place so far out of town but in the end, with the scooter it didn't really matter.
The room has seen better days and the lack of ventilation means high humidity from the shower mist, meaning sweaty nights, which isn't good.
Didn't like the fact the music was left on ALL night below in the breakfast room as you can hear it in the room!

This stay with my child was absolutely perfect, truly a hidden gem of a family-friendly hotel! The room was spacious, bright, and spotless, with a charming and cozy children's theme. They even provided kids' toiletries and slippers, which was a really thoughtful touch. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive; check-in was efficient, and they were quick to respond to any requests, looking after my little one throughout our stay – it was truly heartwarming. The overall environment was comfortable, and the late check-out was a lifesaver. They even offered shuttle service when it rained and valet parking, which was a huge help when traveling with a child. The front desk staff, especially one young man, was super nice!

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, right by the Two Rivers and Four Lakes scenic area, with Ronghu Lake Park directly outside. The room views are incredible, offering a 180° panorama of the karst peaks at sunset, and you can also overlook the Two Rivers and Four Lakes at night.
The amenities are thoughtful and convenient, including free parking. Each floor has a laundry room equipped with a washing machine, dryer, and detergent. Food deliveries are sent directly to your room by a robot, and the bedding is perfectly comfortable.
The service is warm and attentive; the front desk staff are super friendly, and a female staff member even helped with our luggage. Downstairs, there's complimentary water, drinks, and fruit. The afternoon tea and breakfast are excellent quality, with freshly brewed coffee from a machine. While the breakfast selection isn't huge, it meets all needs, though you might miss out on the rice noodles if you go too late.
The room was spotlessly clean, and as it's a new hotel, all the facilities are brand new. Don't miss out on this place if you're visiting Guilin; it's truly great value for money!

The hotel has a self-service laundry room, which is super convenient! The facilities are new, the service is warm, and the hygiene is excellent. The bedding is soft like clouds. The free large parking lot is a thoughtful touch, and the buffet breakfast offers incredible value for money. Highly recommend!!!

It's quite unbelievable that this Guilin hotel made it to the 'luxury' category.
Let's start with the pros:
1. **Excellent Location:** The hotel is perfectly situated right across from Elephant Trunk Hill Park's Gate 1, just a 3-minute walk across the street. It's also very close to the Two Rivers and Four Lakes scenic area, about a 15-minute walk.
2. **Convenient Amenities:** Dining and shopping options around the hotel are incredibly convenient. Dongxi Alley and Zhengyang Pedestrian Street are both within walking distance.
3. **Commendable Service:** The hotel's service is noteworthy. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic, gave me a room upgrade, and even presented a souvenir when I checked out.
Now for the cons:
1. **Questionable Star Rating:** The hotel claims to be a five-star property, but from the moment I saw it from the outside, it absolutely did not look like one. There's no gym, let alone a game room. The hotel only has one elevator. In mid-May, Guilin's weather is quite hot and humid, over 30 degrees Celsius, but the hotel lobby and floors didn't have the air conditioning on. Because of the heat, there were a lot of mosquitoes. Interestingly, the elevator *did* have AC, so all the mosquitoes flew into it, resulting in many bites.
2. **Outdated Facilities:** Since the hotel has been around for some time, the hardware facilities are old and damaged. Hangers, bedsheets, bath towels, etc., were visibly worn and torn (see photos). I'm not sure why, as a five-star hotel, they don't seem willing to update these, which creates a very negative impression for guests.
3. **Minor Service Issues:** There were also some small detail issues. Housekeeping service was a bit slow to respond, and coordination with the cleaning staff wasn't timely. I hope they can improve this.
In summary, this hotel has both pros and cons. From its 'star' rating, it absolutely does not meet five-star standards; the hardware facilities feel more like three stars, and in some areas, even worse than hotels like All Seasons. This is a five-star hotel that doesn't live up to its name. I hope everyone considers carefully before booking; I wouldn't recommend it.

This stay was extremely satisfying! Despite the large crowds during the May Day holiday, the hotel's overall cleanliness was exceptional; the entire room was spotless. The room was spacious and bright, with a subtle, pleasant fragrance upon entering. The natural light was excellent; I even woke up to sunrise! 🌅 The staff were also very friendly and attentive. It's close to the station and offers great value for money. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time. Highly recommended!

Summary: High value for money, excellent service, great location, and all the promised freebies delivered. I highly recommend this 'Global Village' hotel!
1. It's only a 10-minute walk to Elephant Trunk Hill! And super convenient to walk to Wenchang Pier for a Two Rivers and Four Lakes boat tour!
2. The front desk and all staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. They offer desserts, fruit, tea, late-night snacks, a kids' playground, free half-hour trials of ethnic costumes, and a rooftop pool with great views! There's also a gym.
3. Since I had my child with me, they even upgraded us for free to a family room. The bathtub is huge, big enough for 6 people!!! The home theater is super clear and free! I was genuinely surprised.
4. The free breakfast is rich and nutritious, and the restaurant offers direct views of the mountains and rivers. I'm truly satisfied with this price!
5. I had to work at night, and the staff even found me a separate room to work in.
6. They also allowed me to check out late, at 2 PM, and stored my 7 backpacks for free until 6 PM.

Heshe Hotel stands as one of the finest resorts for accommodation in Guilin. Their hospitality, culinary offerings, ambiance, and staff are all exceptionally delightful and helpful.
Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by amazing front desk attendant, Melody. She assisted us through out our stay and made sure we’re comfortable and well taken care of and our tour guide, Eric, who communicated fluently in English, significantly easing our experience as non-Chinese speakers.
The owner was equally gracious, sharing their barbecue with us, creating a sense of homeliness. This hotel is located just 15 minutes from the main tourist attractions, with rooms that are very clean and offer breathtaking views.
I am definitely coming back again.

XXixiaoxiiThis hotel boasts an excellent location, very close to Yangshuo West Street and the Li River, making it easy to experience the vibrant nightlife of West Street with just a short walk in the evening. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, including a gym and a swimming pool. The bedding is soft, and if you're not used to the pillows, they even provide latex pillows. The toiletries are individually packaged mini bottles, which is a nice touch for peace of mind! The breakfast is plentiful and served semi-buffet style, with options like freshly made local specialty rice noodles. The public areas, such as the 'Sky Mirror' and the lobby, are great for relaxing, checking in, and taking photos. Parking is also convenient with a dedicated underground garage!
WWusuobunengdexiaoheigeI’d been eyeing this place since its Alila days, but only managed to visit after it was delisted. Post-delisting, it feels too much like an influencer hotspot, losing that luxury resort charm.
Our room was arranged too close to the road. The trucks speeding along the mountain road made closing the windows almost useless. What I found most unacceptable were the linens. I really want to ask, how many years have these linens been in use? Whether it was the pillows or the duvet, there was absolutely no sense of comfort or luxurious embrace you’d expect from a luxury resort. Just rough, heavy, suffocating fabrics, combined with the noisy traffic from the road, made for terrible sleep. I strongly suggest the hotel updates its linens, especially the pillows, as they are crucial, while also upgrading other hardware. The hotel is beautiful, but that's all it has going for it.
Reconstruction under a historical building gives it a new narrative, but from many angles, the operations feel more like hype than substance. After seeing the business trends in Yangshuo, it's hard for this place not to follow suit. I still recommend everyone to come and experience it, but when the only link a hotel has to luxury resort status is its high price, it's difficult for it to truly thrive.
AAnonymous UserI stayed for two nights, and it was a fantastic experience! On the second morning, I saw the clouds swirling in mid-air, it felt like being in a fairyland! The hotel front desk is on the 80th floor, the highest floor, and the rooms are below. The rooms are spacious, and the bedding is very comfortable. The hotel is not far from Qingxiu Mountain Park. I highly recommend visiting Qingxiu Mountain Park if you're ever in Nanning – it's a 5A-rated scenic area and absolutely stunning! It's also super, super big, you can't possibly explore it all in one visit, and the entrance ticket is only 20 yuan, which is an amazing value!

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is super convenient! You can easily walk to Jingjiang Princes' City, East and West Alleys, Zhengyang Pedestrian Street, and even Elephant Trunk Hill. Taxis are also readily available and Didi (ride-sharing) is very affordable. The hotel is built right by the river, offering amazing, unobstructed river views. The public areas are beautiful on sunny days, and in the evening, you can catch stunning sunsets from the 6th-floor terrace and 7th-floor pool – the views are spectacular, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hotel breakfast is delicious, and the staff are friendly and very service-oriented. The rooms are clean and hygienic, and well-equipped, even including a handheld garment steamer. Overall, it's a really great place.

SSean LambertMy stay was excellent! The staff's meticulous service made me feel right at home. The room was spacious and bright, offering panoramic city views. The floor-to-ceiling windows allowed for adjustable ventilation, so I never had to worry about stuffy air. The soundproofing was great, and the mattress was perfectly comfortable – not too soft, not too firm – I ended up sleeping in till noon without realizing it. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, including a food delivery locker and a delivery robot. Its proximity to the subway makes getting around incredibly convenient. Overall, it offers great value for money. Highly recommend this fantastic experience!

GGuest UserBooked a room at Shangri-La Guilin via Trip.com, and my experience far exceeded expectations! The river-view room offered an amazing vista, with floor-to-ceiling windows directly overlooking the breathtaking Li River scenery. Waking up to the misty morning view felt like stepping into a painting – absolutely enchanting. Although the hotel has been open for many years, it's exceptionally well-maintained, exuding an elegant charm without feeling dated, truly showcasing the quality of a seasoned five-star establishment. I was pleasantly surprised to encounter peacocks on the grounds and even got to see one display its stunning feathers up close – it was both graceful and therapeutic. The breakfast is arguably the best among hotels in Guilin; it boasts a rich variety of both Chinese and Western options, with authentic freshly made Guilin rice noodles and quick replenishment of fresh items. The service was attentive and thoughtful throughout, making my entire stay comfortable and hassle-free. This is definitely a must-stay when visiting Guilin; I'll choose it again on my next trip!

GGuest UserThis was one of the largest rooms I've ever stayed in. The hot water pressure was fantastic, making showers and hair washing so comfortable. The breakfast spread in the morning was extensive, and they even had white fungus soup in the evenings. The lobby offered complimentary Luo Han Guo tea, fruits, snacks, and thoughtful amenities like facial masks and band-aids. It's the first hotel I've stayed at that provided laundry detergent and even laundry bags, which was incredibly considerate. The price was very reasonable, and the location was easy to find.
