The location is excellent; we could walk to Elephant Trunk Hill and East-West Alley, and the Twin Pagodas were right across from our balcony – it felt like we were staying inside the scenic area. The room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable. The hotel's restaurant was also delicious, and the staff were warm and polite. This is the best choice for a family trip to Guilin! 👍"

GGuest UserThe price is very affordable, and the room is quite comfortable – spacious with a comfy bed, and the cleanliness is spot on. It's also close to several attractions, and it's quiet at night. The service was thoughtful and excellent. We had a lot of rain these past two days, and many people were washing clothes, so the washing machines were overwhelmed. The staff even helped wash and dry our clothes, and they were placed outside our door by the time we woke up in the morning. Breakfast was decent too, with freshly made signature Guilin rice noodles and wontons. If you're exploring the area, this hotel is definitely worth recommending.

Rroundy00The environment at The Sugar House is absolutely stunning, no doubt about it. The hotel activities are also excellent; I tried both the complimentary morning yoga and Tai Chi classes every day, and the instructors were fantastic. The included travel photography session was also great, with a very natural style. I also have to praise the hotel restaurants – both the food and the ambiance are superb. Whether it was Chinese cuisine, Western dishes, or casual meals, everything was well-prepared. We also tried the hotel's paid activity, the Via Ferrata, which was a lot of fun! My only minor complaint is that it was too short and didn't last long enough. The only real downside was actually the room. Given that it's nearly 10 years old, it felt a bit dated, and the decor style was a bit outmoded. BUT! Overall, I'm very satisfied and would definitely choose this hotel again!!

The panoramic views from the high-floor, floor-to-ceiling windows are absolutely stunning. On a rainy day, with the glass covered in raindrops, the city's high-rises shrouded in mist create an incredibly atmospheric scene, perfect for photos. The room was clean and elegant, the bedding soft and comfortable, and the facilities high-end and complete. The soundproofing was also excellent.
I especially want to commend the breakfast buffet. The variety was incredible, with Chinese and Western dishes, desserts, fruits, and hot beverages all available. Everything tasted great, the ingredients were fresh, and there was so much to choose from, you couldn't possibly try it all. The thoughtful option to pack food to go was a really nice touch and very humane!
The service throughout was meticulous and attentive. Staff responded promptly and were gentle and thorough. Whether for a business trip or a leisure stay, this hotel is perfectly suited, offering incredible value for money. I will definitely choose this place again on my next visit to this city. Highly recommended!

The reception staff were incredibly friendly and patient with my requests. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Guilin. The hotel's online photoshoot service was also outstanding. The makeup artist was very helpful in choosing outfits and applying simple makeup. The photographer guided poses and took great shots, ensuring both the person and the scenery looked good. Finally, the photo selector was very patient in helping me choose the photos, without any hard selling.

GGuest UserThis hotel was a great choice for my trip, and I'm so glad I picked it! First off, I have to give a special shout-out to Winnie at the front desk. She was incredibly friendly, warm, and easy to talk to. The check-in process was very efficient and smooth. The room itself was spacious and bright, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped, making for a very comfortable stay. My only minor suggestion would be to fix the loose outlet in the bathroom, as the hairdryer wasn't working very well. The hotel's location is excellent, making it convenient for dining and getting around. Overall, my stay was fantastic. The staff were all very attentive, and any requests were handled promptly. It was a very satisfying experience, and I'll definitely be staying here again on future trips to the area. I highly recommend it to other travelers!

EelbartoThis was the start of our 2-week journey through southern China by train from HK. It rained incredibly hard the most we stepped off the train, so we were very happy to arrive at the Shangri-La and enjoy their wonderful service and amenities.
We enjoyed an early evening couple's massage on an offer of buy-one-get-one-free, which was absolutely wonderful.
Breakfast buffet was good, not amazing, but had a wide selection of foods available.
The gym was better equipped than most hotel gyms I've encountered.
Our bed was enormous! I'm around 190cm but even I felt small in this bed 😂
Would definitely stay here again! 💯

GGuest UserLet me highlight two things that really stood out during my stay, for anyone planning a trip to Guilin. First, the rooftop view. The hotel's rooftop is essentially a panoramic observation deck, offering an incredibly expansive view. You can take in the entire Rong Lake and the distant mountains and rivers all at once. Just sitting up there, daydreaming and enjoying the breeze, without a care in the world, felt incredibly therapeutic. My friend with me said the rooftop alone was enough for him to fill an entire Instagram grid. Second, the cleanliness of the room. I absolutely have to commend them on this, as I have high standards for accommodation hygiene. I've stayed in many hotels that look good on the surface but fall short on the details. The rooms at Li River Moon (Lijiang Wangyue) are not only designed simply and comfortably, but they are genuinely clean. The light-colored floors would show even a speck of dust, yet I walked barefoot around the entire room, and my feet were spotless. The bedding wasn't just smoothed out; the corners of the duvet were tucked in – clearly not a rushed, perfunctory job of just pulling up the sheets. I specifically checked the nooks and crannies of the bathroom, and there was no dust accumulation in easily overlooked spots like the underside of the sink or behind the toilet. The glass shower door was crystal clear, with no water stains. There was absolutely no musty odor in the room. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.

Ccecily123I'd heard great things about Lux Chongzuo, and my overall experience exceeded my expectations. Even before arrival, my butler, Pelina, added me on WeChat and asked about my travel time and if I was celebrating any special occasions. During my stay, she was incredibly responsive and attentive to every request – truly, truly nice!
Upon arriving at the hotel's concierge entrance, someone immediately came to help with my luggage, and there was a lovely welcome ceremony. The ice jelly they offered was quite tasty! The passion fruit welcome drink in the lobby was also very refreshing and quenched my thirst. After check-in, the butler personally escorted me to my room and introduced me to all the facilities.
First, I have to mention that the lighting in the room was a bit dim, which I personally didn't care for; it felt a little too dark for my liking. However, the Le Labo toiletries, Dyson hairdryer, smart toilet, and screen-mirroring TV were all excellent. The shower had great water pressure, making for a very comfortable shower experience. They also provided thoughtful little extras like earplugs and mosquito repellent. The mini-bar was generously stocked with a full range of snacks and drinks! The balcony view was the absolute highlight – incredibly, incredibly beautiful! It truly made the trip worthwhile. That said, the hotel's pricing is a bit high, and it's notoriously hard to book; I had to reserve it far in advance.
Dinner at the wine cellar was also beyond expectations. I initially thought the 1088 per person set menu might be mediocre, but surprisingly, every dish was good, except for the shrimp, which was a bit of a stretch. I wanted to book it for the next day, but unfortunately, it was fully booked for a private event, which was such a shame!
Service was outstanding! Every staff member was polite and enthusiastic. The ladies in the restaurant were particularly warm, always smiling, and very kind and genuine.
Breakfast, however, was a bit disappointing. The variety was too limited. For a hotel at this price point, this kind of breakfast is quite unsatisfactory and regrettable. It was comparable to a standard chain five-star hotel breakfast, just with prettier tableware. Moreover, the entire restaurant was permeated with the pungent smell of Luosifen (snail noodles), which is absolutely deadly for anyone who dislikes them!
