Shangri-La Guilin

Guilin Shangri-La, I absolutely, absolutely, absolutely love it!! Is Guilin Shangri-La old? No! While it's a bit older, every single facility is incredibly well-maintained! And the food? Even better! Perhaps my experience is limited, but my 6-year-old and I have traveled to 129 cities, and the variety and taste of the food in Guilin Shangri-La's Horizon Club (executive lounge) are super, super, super abundant!! The breakfast is also fantastic, and the Chinese food at Shang Palace is too!!! We stayed here for three days and ate our way through the entire Shangri-La from top to bottom!! The spa, gym, and pool are all super, super excellent! Big shout-out and praise to Ivan Yang from F&B, Linda Zhang from the Health Club, and Daisy Chen from the Horizon Club!! They were all absolutely, absolutely wonderful!!! Every single staff member is super, super nice!!! I love Guilin Shangri-La!! There are also many animals to see, hahaha, and even peacocks fanning their tails!

Service: Attentive, Nico provided thoughtful service. Amenities: There's a small animal park with peacocks, and you can feed them egg yolks – special thanks to Wan Xiaofeng! Breakfast was so filling, it put me in a great mood. Guilin's scenery is truly world-class, and the Guilin rice noodles are absolutely amazing.

The room was very clean, and the service was excellent. The view was also great. The food at the Executive Lounge was delicious~

- Dining Experience: The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of options, including freshly made authentic Guilin rice noodles and local specialties, which are generally highly praised. The Chinese restaurant (Shang Palace) also comes highly recommended for its Cantonese dim sum and steamed Li River fish. - Recreation and Environment: The indoor heated pool and fitness center are well-equipped and maintained. The hotel itself resembles a large garden, with lush greenery and a tranquil, quiet environment.

As expected from a well-established international chain hotel in Guilin, the location is excellent. The executive lounge service is fantastic, and the staff are well-trained. Both the environment and the food are satisfying. The high-floor rooms offer beautiful views.

The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The breakfast selection was extensive and delicious, and the overall atmosphere was very pleasant. Our room was spacious, and the bed was really comfortable. They also offer a great variety of engaging activities, and the pool was lovely. Highly recommend this place!

The hotel's location is excellent, and the lounge offers a stunning view of the Li River. Breakfast and happy hour were bountiful. Prior to our arrival, the housekeeping team, specifically Quanshouhong, prepared extra slippers and children's toiletries based on our group size. The Deluxe Club Lounge team members — Chen Xiaoyan, Yang Shangji, Chen Jianwen, Li Xiangyang, and Chen Shanhong — were exceptional. They were always smiling and incredibly responsive to all our needs, making our entire Guilin trip feel warm and thoughtful.

Booked a family room since we were traveling with a child. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and clean. The hotel breakfast was amazing with a huge selection, and the service was excellent (the pastries from the bakery section were exceptionally good, especially the honey cake!). Every staff member was enthusiastic, greeting us proactively and offering assistance. We'll definitely choose Shangri-La again next time.

Shangri-La is an older, established hotel in Guilin. While some of the facilities show their age, the environment is still very good, and the staff service is also decent. However, I was quite surprised that a five-star hotel didn't even provide a disposable bathtub liner. A staff member came to clean the tub, but I ended up buying a liner myself via delivery. I really hope they don't skimp on these small details. Even though no one would miss the cost of a bathtub liner, it leaves a lasting impression – and not because of the beautiful surroundings or professional attitude, but over a bathtub liner that costs less than two yuan.
