friendly and helpful, going out of their way to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel itself is well-maintained and clean, with modern amenities and comfortable rooms. The location is also excellent, being conveniently located near attractions and restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great value and an enjoyable stay in [Location].

Myself and my friend were drawn to the Palace Hotel for its competitive price and location - both of which could not be faulted. Very inexpensive and centrally located in Buxton next to the train station and local shops all within a five minute walk easily. However, without a doubt, you get what you pay for. Whilst the room looked perfectly clean and functional on arrival, both my friend and I awoke after the first night with sore backs. The beds are cheap and unsupportive. The shower is basic and paltry in its water flow. For a one night stay, it’s fine, but don’t expect luxury. The biggest warning we need to issue pertains to the gym. Unless you are a local Buxton male, you won’t feel comfortable here - I couldn’t use one room as there was loud rowdy discussion between men ongoing in a very confined space which made me feel totally unwelcome. I retreated to a different room, also very small and very unclean, with dirt and dust and flakes surrounding the windows and ripped mats on the floor. See photos attached. My friend used the pool which he also described as dirty and he had to take all of his belongings with him into the sauna as the lockers had no locks or keys, rendering them obsolete. The fact that people pay a monthly membership fee to attend this gym is genuinely astounding. Overall, cheap, mildly cheerful, suitable for a night or two basic stay but do not expect luxury from this hotel.

The hotel that I was looking forward to before I checked in. I know this hotel because there is an introduction in LP UK. It is said that Jane Austen has lived here. The hotel staff was very polite. I think the hotel helped us upgrade the room we booked. When we opened the door, the radio in the room was playing classical music and the atmosphere was very comfortable. The decoration and layout of the entire hotel are very particular, with a sense of age, but it is also very clean. We spent a very pleasant two days here and added wonderful memories to the trip. The hotel's breakfast is required to order. Two days of blind spots have a different breakfast, but they are all salty. It is recommended to optimize it. Of course, if you don't order, the buffet area also has basic breakfasts such as bread and milk. The environment of the breakfast area is also very good. If you plan to go to Chatsworth House, it is a very good choice to live here!

Lovely hotel. Clean, tidy, comfortable. Staff were excellent, one & all. Conveniently located with a short walk to the station, the shopping centre, a football ground and other such exciting places as 10 pin bowling, cinemas, axe throwing (highly recommended) and crazy golf for adults only! As a Londoner, I don’t know what I expected of Derby but I’m very glad I made the trip. I have nothing negative to say about the Stewart Hotel, the people of Derby and the fantastic Derby as a whole. Well worth a visit.

We stayed for one night in December and really like this hotel. Our room was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. We had dinner in the restaurant, which was very good (I recommend booking in advance, as it was busy on a Saturday night), and breakfast in the morning, also very good. We will be happy to return some time!

Staff brilliant. Value brilliant. Absolute bargain.  Hot Breakfast was average which was an extra tenner but it had a good selection of cereal, toast, yoghurt. Rooms were basic but in a good way. Everything you need for a cheap stay. Clean. Only small gripe was pillows weren’t the best so next time I’ll bring my own. Some may like the more flat pillows. Thanks IBIS derby.

We stayed for 1 night for a special occasion. On arrival we were told that the spa was closed for an event which was very disappointing as I booked this hotel because of the spa & had planned to use the pool & sauna. This should gave been communicated at the time of booking. The building and grounds were impressive but on arrival our featured superior room was freezing cold. The reception turned on the heating at our request but this should have been done hours before our arrival given that it was 8 degrees outside. We sat for an hour in the room with our coats on before asking for a portable heater due to the radiators being only lukewarm. The room never really got warm & when we came back from dinner at 9.15 the heating had been turned off again & we had to ask for it to be turned on again. The food in the restaurant was very good & the servers were lovely but unorganised. We planned to have a drink in the hotel bar but it was so cold that it was empty and not comfortable to stay. I heard kore than one staff member complain about the cold in the hotel. What could have been a very pleasant stay was spoiled by the cold. Unfortunately, we will not return.

Explorers Retreat Matlock Bath was a unique and fun experience! As a solo traveler, I loved the quirky cabins and the adventurous atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing great tips on local activities. The cabin was clean and cozy, perfect for a solo retreat. The location was stunning, with easy access to beautiful walks and the charming town of Matlock Bath. While the facilities were basic, the overall experience was fantastic. It's a great choice for anyone seeking a bit of adventure and a taste of nature.

DDr.BalramBest Western Plus Buxton Hotel Stayed here for one night during my Peak District trip. The hotel is very well located, right in the centre of Buxton and close to the Pavilion Gardens, bus stops, and walking routes. The room was clean, comfortable, and warm — perfect after a long day of hiking. Staff were polite and helpful, and the overall experience was smooth and hassle-free. A solid choice if you’re exploring Buxton and the Peak District using public transport.

GGuest UserAn excellent short stay in this B&B situated above a tea room in the village of Bonsall. Check-in is a small window of 2 hours between 2 and 4 pm but it does state that you can organise late check-in if you are stuck. Best to avoid the area around the Heights of Abraham when traveling in at the weekend as it gets very busy. We were there just to check out the area for walking and it suited our needs perfectly. The owner greeted us and made sure we settled in and as a bonus, the tea room was still open to allow us to sample their delicious cakes before unpacking. We went to the Kings Head pub for dinner which is a 3-minute walk up the hill and I must say it was a good choice. Another place with great hospitality with a mix of locals and visitors but more importantly good honest grub. Breakfast was probably one of the best we have ever had at a B&B it was plentiful and there was no compromise on quality, perfect to fuel us for another day on the hills. Thank you for hosting us and giving us good value for money in an excellent location to explore the Peak District National Park.

GGuest UserInvincible satisfaction, this is the most cost-effective hotel I have stayed in the UK, although it is very convenient to eat in the restaurant on the first floor near the manor. The front desk of the hotel is also warm and the dinner tastes good. There is also a RV base next to the hotel. If you get off from Sheffield and take 218 back to Darcy Manor and then transfer to 6.1 Bus for seven minutes, follow the navigation positioning positioning. Remember to continue to walk forward for a few minutes and cross a small bridge. Navigation is not accurate. The local bus is no different from the taxi. I originally took a taxi to the hotel and found that Uber 138 pounds was not cost-effective and it was OK to take the car directly. The scenery along the way is particularly beautiful, and it is also a good journey experience ~

GGlobalTraveller88We chose Wildes Inn as it is conveniently located just 4 minutes from Bolsover Hospital, where our mother was due to have full knee surgery. We wanted her to be well rested and comfortable, and the Inn truly delivered. The staff were very friendly, and we were greeted straight away by a young, polite gentleman who made check-in smooth and stress-free. The lobby smelled wonderful and had a spa-like, relaxing atmosphere. The team were also very thoughtful, knowing the reason for our stay, they even offered to arrange takeaway breakfast for us. We booked an accessible room for our mother, which was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was great too. Overall, we were very satisfied with the entire experience. Our mother was well rested and ready for her surgery. If we pass through again, I would love to try the spa treatments, they certainly look very appealing.

GGuest UserFrom the outside, the hotel makes a charming first impression with its elegant façade, ornate balconies, and a warmly lit lobby that exudes a sense of old-world charm. The check-in process is smooth, and the staff are courteous and eager to help. The room was clean and spacious, the décor is a bit dated but it adds a character to the place and I like it. The only small issue was, there’s no window only a door to the balcony which is locked and we cannot access it making the room stuffy. Also, it was difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep due to a noise of exhaust fan in the bathroom throughout the night. The bed was comfortable and having an iron was a bonus. Will I stay again? Definitely.

GGuest UserThe hotel itself was very nice. The room was large and comfortable (maybe too warm at times). The room facilities and freebies and bathroom was very nice and felt quite luxury. The hotel is in a natural and beautiful area where you can go hiking around it on trail, and there is a pub next door. The breakfast was lovely with varied choice. The restaurant for dinner was expensive but served great food. Parking wasnt much of an issue which made things easier. All in all a great experience, and the value for money was brilliant. My only downside was that its difficult to travel anywhere without a car from the hotel. No complaints otherwise.
