The snack selection 🧺 was great 👍, and it's a 5-minute walk to the Pinang Peranakan Mansion. Supermarkets, the street art, and the market are all within walking distance. Breakfast was different every day. There's also parking available.
The room was spacious and clean. The staff were attentive and prompt in attending to our needs. They served us more bottles of water in our room on request. We had a pleasant welcome with a drink and ice cream. The hotel is just beside the Gurney Plaza, which makes it convenient for shopping and dining. Highly recommended.
This is my 3rd time stay at Raia. 1st time stay dulu da suka hotel ni so everytime dtg penang akan stay sini. Just tak ada bath tub je. If ada bath tub mmg best la. Mmg akan repeat lagi dan lagi..
Good stay at Jazz Hotel Penang 👍
Really satisfied with my trip here. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, with a bathtub and even a complimentary bath bomb which made the stay extra relaxing. Love the rooftop pool and the overall modern vibe.
Location is convenient — walking distance to Straits Quay and easy access to Gurney area for food. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay.
Overall a pleasant experience, will definitely come back again!
Fantastic experience! I hesitated a lot before booking, but I'm so glad I made the right choice. It's an established five-star hotel with excellent service and a rich variety of breakfast options. The best part is the swimming pool – storage, showers, bath, and sauna are all available, and the pool water is very clean. Our room had no strange smells, though we didn't spend much time there apart from sleeping. All the great food spots are within walking distance, and taxis can easily find the location. The front desk staff can communicate perfectly in Mandarin. Highly recommended!
The location is fantastic! There's a big mall right next door and a 7-Eleven across the street. Plus, several food centers are just a few hundred meters away on foot, making it incredibly convenient. The hotel itself is clean, hygienic, and the service is great. Breakfast is really plentiful, and the rice noodles are especially delicious. It can get quite busy, but that's to be expected with such a prime location; getting around is super easy. The street art area is just a fifteen-minute walk away. I even saw a lion dance performance in the morning, which was a fun surprise, haha!
Spent a relaxing 2 nights here, just eating and sleeping 🏖️
If you want to watch the sunset while you eat, I recommend booking a table with the restaurant staff near the beach as soon as you check in. I booked for 7 PM these past few days, and it was perfect for catching the sunset while dining. However, when eating outdoors, you're bound to encounter some tiny gnats crawling on the table. I'd squash the ones I saw, and for the ones I didn't, I just considered them extra protein, haha! If that bothers you, it's probably best to eat indoors.
Walk left along the beach from the hotel (facing the sea), and in the evenings, you'll find a street food market. On that same beach, there's also an iron flower fireworks show. There are also fireworks on the other side, but I'm not sure if there's a street food market there.
**Facilities:** The deep end of the pool is a bit small for adults, but the kids' pool is decent for families with children.
Check-in time is usually 3 PM. If you arrive earlier, I suggest wearing your swimsuit beforehand. There are showers in the lobby restrooms, so you can rinse off and then head to the pool, grab a lounge chair, get a towel, and start enjoying the facilities early 🏊
1. The hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of George Town, just across the street from the famous The George hotel. There's a bus stop diagonally opposite the entrance, conveniently named 'CITITEL HOTEL'. Plus, convenience stores are abundant in every direction.
2. The bus stop offers the free CAT bus, which can take you to many famous spots in George Town.
3. The service was exceptional, from the front desk to the housekeeping staff. On my first day, I asked the front desk for a lighter, and the staff member just gave me one! 👍
4. The breakfast is definitely four-star quality. I've included four days' worth of breakfast photos. The egg pancake with sauce in the third picture was incredibly delicious – they had three different curry sauce flavors.
5. There's a water dispenser on each floor where you can refill water, and the room has a kettle, as shown in picture five.
6. The pool is quite small, and the gym isn't very large either, but they're functional enough.
7. The bathroom facilities are just so-so, and the toilet made some strange noises, but it didn't really affect its use.
8. There are many great eateries within a 500-meter walk of the hotel.
9. The Blue Mansion is just on the street next to the hotel, with tickets going on sale at 9 AM every morning. You can buy your tickets in the morning when you head out (e.g., for the afternoon) and then visit other attractions while it's still cool, avoiding the possibility of tickets selling out in the afternoon.
Location is good, right in the centre & within walking distance to eateries & shopping. Close nearby there’s the Hin Depot, it’s like a weekend flea market.
Hotel Service was great, the room that i booked was rather small, city view facing but sun was strong and day time, was abit hot as room window facing the sun. Going green is good, and water dispenser is provided on every floor for our refill. Can i suggest the bottles provided to have a wider opening as when refilling was rather difficult to avoid any spillage, especially taking the hot water
Hotel deco is very festive.
I booked this place just because I was going to climb Flagstaff Hill. From the outside, it looks decent, but the facilities inside are quite basic. First off, the water dispenser is located by the entrance on each floor, so you have to get your own water. The iron is also outside if you need to press your clothes. The cleaning staff are all male Indian workers, and frankly, it's not very clean; I even saw small ants crawling on the table. The rooftop restaurant seemed nice, but I missed the dining hours.

AAnonymous UserAbsolutely fantastic! The bellhop who handles luggage storage recognized us from a distance and helped us retrieve our bags. The room was spacious, the bathroom was huge, and the view was incredible, overlooking the entire Old Town. Great value for money. The Old Town is just a short walk away. There's also a school downstairs, so we got to see the kids during their classes every day. And the Blue House is just a few meters away – amazing!

Jjim jimThis hotel is super convenient! There are so many eateries nearby, and the dessert shops serve really generous portions. The white coffee at OO coffee shop is delicious too. You'll find plenty of open-air food stalls around, and even though they don't have air conditioning, the local flavors are fantastic and the food is great.
GGuest UserNewish hotel, we have been here before. The first thing you will notice is the lack of furniture and that all your cases will be out on the floor in front of you. There is a ridiculous looking small wash basin that's hard to wash your face in without getting the floor wet or hitting your head on the tap. No slippers, tissues, or hand towels, just one big towel. Only one bedside thing with the phone taking up most of the space, they could fix the phone to the wall. A very small table available had to be used as a bedside table.
Good enclosed shower. Breakfast never changed noticeably but good to see steamed buns available as well as cereal. This meant there was milk for tea/coffee instead of the powdered cream available. I suggested a jug of milk would be nice next to hot drinks but it never happened. I would stay again but not for as long next time.
WWILLIAM SK CHEWFacing the ocean view with the fresh sea breeze and peaceful atmosphere was truly relaxing — we even forgot there was a TV in the room.
The walking path on the ground floor, with the displayed items and photos, brought back wonderful memories of the past.
The continental breakfast, along with nice coffee and tea, was another highlight of our stay.
Whenever I travel to Penang George Town again, this will definitely be the only hotel I choose to stay at.
GGuest UserThe view was simply beautiful, especially at midnight when the sky was filled with countless stars. The atmosphere was peaceful and calming, perfect for unwinding. There were many complimentary facilities and activities available, making the stay even more enjoyable. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding warmth to the experience. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to relax and recharge.
EEveGHotel was clean and service was very good. Room was large and comfortable . Swimming pool on eleven floor is a plus on hot days. Good view of the town and the sea from our room.
Strategic location in the heart of Georgetown. Close to Komtar, First Avenue Mall and Pragin Mall. Short walk to Cecil Market and Chowrasta Market with many eateries nearby selling Penang local delicacies.

AAnonymous UserIt was the last hotel at the end of a two week trip in Malaysia. I chose it seeing it was closer to the airport.
It was perfect! A spacious room in a boutique hotel, and some pampering and rest before a long flight home.
Positives:
- Pool, was cool and busy.
- Complimentary drinks, were appreciated.
- Spacious room and bathroom.
- Loved the ‘Say No to Plastic’ environmental initiatives.
- Cafe space, food was tasty and reasonably priced.
- Staff were friendly and efficient.
- Convenient Store down stairs for snack and drinks.
- I asked for an extra hour for check out.
It’s in a residential area, next to a busy road. So it’s not a place to explore the local area and a GRAB is needed to get around.
However, a perfect STAY for the last day of holidays and it’s closer to the airport.
