Songzhuju is one of the nicest homestay I've stayed in. 1. Butler Ah Fei and all staff are very welcoming and friendly. Ah Fei contacted me in advance to arrange pick up and itinerary. He's also the go-to guy for purchase of authentic tea and local produce. 2. Superior location The homestay is situated about 100m from north gate. Considered easy to find but I would still recommend the pick up service as the town is such a maze. It takes around 30mins by car from Lijiang Railway to the ancient town. Restaurants, cafes and shops are everywhere. 3. Spacious and cosy room Room was clean, full amenities like bathrobe, slippers, kettle, shampoo, conditioner etc all provided There are endless options of homestays to choose from but Songzhuju stands out for being so homely and such kind of personal service is really rare. After 3 days of stay, i cannot pinpoint a single negative aspect at all. Would return for sure and highly recommend to all travellers! . Bed and pillows quite comfortable. Breakfast provided from 8am. Laundry room available.

Definitely a 6 stars experience(if I could give a 6 stars even), it has been 3+ weeks since my Yunnan trip ended, wife and me still thinking about the stay with Meiloulanting. It was one of our best stay in china, if not the best. Service from Xiaode the person in charge is thoughtful and personal, his younger male staff is also very helpful in all our needs. Got tons of guidance and advice from Xiaode on where and what to eat(and even some discounts at selected eateries). This homestay has porter service to pick up(and drop off) your luggage from the entrance to Gucheng avoiding the lugging of your luggages over the super uneven cobblestones of Gucheng. Location is right smack middle of Gucheng, walking over to any spot in this area is super convenient. Walking out of the many exits of Gucheng do require some navigation from your gaode app, but nothing too complicated. 

The “Tea ceremony - Garden” room is exactly what we have seen on the photos. Room is clean and nice with a nice patio/courtyard where you can chill out a bit if that’s your thing. The already spacious room with that extension makes it very comfortable. Room has built in audio system to play music from your phone via BT accessible beside your bed, a very pleasant feature to chill out in your room after long day of touring. 

Outside the room, the hotel is a relatively compact but not cramp environment, nice pond water feature tallying with the more tea zen theme. Although we didnt use the facilities much due to schedule constraints, it certainly a nice feel and it checks out. If you booked this place, dont forget to visit the small rooftop overlooking Gucheng, it has a nice view of the jade dragon snow mountain and its mountain line, basically 360 view of the area do try during sunrise or sunset!

Hotel has a cute young cat at time of writing, do look out for it, although its roaming the city like us most of the time you might be lucky to see it and interact with it.

All in all, excellent place and insane price for the stay. Aesthetic meets quality meets service meets value - an unheard of combo. Wife and me will definitely revisit Meiloulanting if we ever go back Lijiang - WITHOUT A DOUBT.

Our stay at this hotel in Lijiang Old Town was truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, the host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home after a long journey. Their warmth and attentiveness added a very personal touch to the entire experience. The environment of the hotel is simply beautiful, with a charming building structure that blends perfectly with the traditional aesthetics of the old town. Every corner feels thoughtfully designed, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Location-wise, it couldn’t be more perfect. Being situated right within Lijiang Old Town made it easy for us to explore the surroundings, enjoy local food, and soak in the culture without needing to travel far. The room itself was comfortable, clean, and surprisingly spacious, giving us plenty of room to relax—especially important when traveling with family. Everything was well-maintained, making our stay smooth and enjoyable. Overall, this hotel is absolutely worth staying at, particularly for families traveling with young children or infants. It offers the right balance of comfort, convenience, and hospitality that makes a trip even more special.

The owner gave us a free room upgrade. The room was very spacious, equipped with both a heater and a cooler. The owner waited for our van to arrive, greeted us by the roadside, and was ready with umbrellas because of the light drizzle. He then guided us straight into the hotel walkway. It is only a 30-meter walk from the Didi drop-off point. He served us hot tea, oranges, and Chinese tea to help ease our mountain sickness. He always asked if we needed anything.The interior design is traditional. The building has 3 floors, and you can carry your bags up the stairs. It is not too high, even though there is no elevator. The view from the rooftop is very classic, looking just like a scene from an ancient Chinese drama, with a beautiful view of the mountains. It is also within walking distance (just 100 meters) to halal restaurants and the Lijiang Ancient City North Gate. Free laundry service is available.

The view from the accommodation is absolutely stunning! It’s located right in the ancient town, making it super convenient to get around, with endless food options nearby. You can easily take a stroll around the old town at night. Most importantly, the staff provided exceptional service—I was beyond impressed. If I could give them a million stars out of a hundred, I absolutely would! The staff were incredibly helpful. They carried our luggage for us (which was a lifesaver since dragging bags through the ancient town is quite tough) and even helped us plan our itinerary to find the most convenient routes. Their recommendations were spot-on! On top of that, they made us delicious tea every single day, and the breakfast was absolutely amazing. If you are visiting Lijiang, I highly recommend staying here. It’s truly wonderful! 这家的风景真的太赞了！就在古城里面，出行超级方便，周围吃的也特别多。晚上可以直接在古城里散步。最重要的是，前台和服务人员的态度好到没话说，真的太让我感动了！如果满分是100分，我愿意给100万分！ 民宿的工作人员真的超级热心，不仅帮我们提行李（因为古城都是石板路，自己拉行李箱真的很辛苦），还帮我们看旅游路线，分析怎么走最方便，给的建议都特别实用。而且每天都会给我们泡茶喝，味道超级赞，早餐也特别美味！ 如果来丽江玩，我强烈推荐大家住这里，真的非常好，绝不踩雷！

I was on a business trip to Weishan Ancient Town for a few days and was attracted to this guesthouse by the pictures on its homepage. The reality was exactly the same as the pictures – very nice and full of ancient charm! The old wooden building with its arched doorways, the small pond in the courtyard with koi, and the many potted plants in the yard all showed how carefully they've been maintained! What impressed me most was the staff's attitude. They greeted me whenever I came or went, and even shared fruit and roasted tea – it felt as relaxed as visiting a friend's house! They also promptly helped resolve any small issues (superb!).

The first hotel on our Yunnan trip was absolutely fantastic! The moment we stepped into the courtyard, we were instantly charmed by the beautiful flowers and plants, and seeing the adorable cats and dogs just lifted our spirits. The room was very clean, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, which is one of my must-haves when choosing accommodation. The bedding was super comfortable, and the bed was great for sleeping. They even had a direct drinking water dispenser in the room, which felt much safer than an electric kettle. The guesthouse is just over a ten-minute walk to the South Gate of the ancient town. The walk back takes a few minutes longer because there's an uphill slope right before you reach the guesthouse, but if you rent a scooter, it's no problem at all. They even thoughtfully provided a foot bath tub in the room – soaking my feet after a long day was so relaxing. The staff at the guesthouse were all young men, and they were warm and welcoming without being intrusive. If I come back to Dali, I'll definitely choose this guesthouse again.

The hotel is in a beautiful old mansion, and we really enjoyed our stay there. The inner courtyard especially was gorgeous, with blooming flowers in January. It's located right in the center of the old town, next to one of the main attractions, the Zhu Family Garden. It's very quiet and cosy. The mattress was nice and firm, and there was lots of hot water with good pressure in the bathroom. The owner was kind enough to upgrade us to a huge room with a living room, which we loved! Would definitely stay here again.

This guesthouse truly exceeded my expectations – a full five-star recommendation is a must! The owner is incredibly warm and thoughtful, always ready to answer any questions without being dismissive. The room is decorated in a cozy and atmospheric way, with attention to every soft furnishing detail, making it spotlessly clean and very comfortable to stay in. The biggest surprise was at night: with an open, unobstructed view, you can clearly see a sky full of stars right from your bed or the courtyard. The atmosphere was absolutely magical, perfect for stunning photos. The owner also thoughtfully recommended tons of authentic local eateries, helping us avoid tourist traps, and every single one tasted genuinely good. They even went out of their way to arrange full ancient-style makeup and styling for us, with professional accessories and hairstyles, so we didn't have to worry about a thing. Whether it was for sightseeing or daily needs, the owner proactively helped arrange everything, offering meticulous and attentive service. The value for money is outstanding; choosing this place for your stay here is definitely a decision you won't regret.

I really loved this guesthouse; it was the most peaceful and comfortable place I stayed in Shaxi during my trip. A big thank you to the warm and friendly front desk staff for preparing afternoon tea, breakfast, and even a goodnight dessert for me. Since it was quite cold, they even turned on the electric blanket and air conditioning in advance. It offers great value for money with spacious rooms and a comfortable environment and service. I truly highly recommend it!
