Very nice hotel in a central location, close to the North gate. We stayed here the two nights before our trekking in the Tiger Leaping Gorge and the two nights after coming back from the trekking. For our second stay we received a free upgrade of the room. This time we had a balcony and a bathtub. The room was a bit more at the front of the hotel so also a bit noisier during the evening and night. And light was coming in through the bathroom window. But it did not bother us and we slept very well as the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is terrific. We would definitely come back here for our next stay. Highly recommended!

This hotel is great! The room looks exactly like the pictures online. The location is super convenient for getting around. They even rent out electric scooters on-site, and the staff are really helpful with directions. As someone from Malaysia who isn't familiar with the area, renting a scooter and following their explanations and maps was no problem at all 😂. They also offer a shuttle service to Lijiang, which is really cost-effective and convenient. They pick you up right at the entrance. Facilities: The decor is very ******* in style, with wood being the predominant material in the rooms. It might not have all the amenities of a typical hotel, but it's full of character. Cleanliness: It's quite clean, though there's a faint, elusive yak smell in the hallways (not entirely sure, so beware if you're sensitive to smells); the owner has several cats, which is a huge plus for cat lovers. Environment: The location is right within the ancient town, just over 900 meters from its center. Service: The service is very attentive, and the breakfast is delicious. There were also foreigners staying here. Free airport/high-speed train station/bus station pickup or drop-off: It seems this service is no longer available, but it's very close to the train station, about a 5 km taxi ride, so it won't cost much.

You can see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain right from the hotel, and it's very close to the Old Town. The only thing is, there are so many steps in Lijiang Old Town! 🫣 The guesthouse doesn't offer breakfast, but there's a breakfast place nearby that's pretty close. [Snow Mountain View] Afternoon tea Service: Someone will contact you to help with your luggage upon arrival and departure.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a wonderful 2-night stay here. The hotel is located inside Lijiang Ancient Town, which made the experience even more special. The owner kindly picked us up along with our big luggage. It was such a fun ride—we honestly enjoyed it so much haha. During check-in, we were welcomed with an orange, which was a very sweet and thoughtful gesture. The owner was extremely helpful throughout our stay. He assisted us with renting traditional costumes and arranging a photography session around Lijiang Ancient Town, which made our trip even more memorable. After we came back from Yulong Snow Mountain, the owner also gave us very thoughtful advice. He reminded us not to shower immediately and to take some time to relax first, explaining that showering right away could cause altitude sickness or even a cold due to the sudden temperature change. We really appreciated this care and concern for our well-being. What we felt most grateful for was the kindness shown to us regarding our laundry. When we asked if there was a washing machine, they said yes, and we managed to start the first wash cycle before heading out. When we returned at night, all our clothes had already been washed and were ready for us to hang. We were shy and happy at the same time 😆 because otherwise, we would have had to stay up late just to settle our laundry. Overall, this stay felt very warm and personal—almost like being taken care of by family. Truly a memorable experience, and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lijiang Ancient Town.

🌟 Lijiang Old Town Hidden Gem | Shiliu Shang, just book it! 📍 Amazing location: A 5-minute walk to Sifang Street, and a food street right outside, yet it's surprisingly quiet. 🏡 Beautiful courtyard: A Naxi-style courtyard with succulents, a rocking chair, and a terrace – every photo op is a masterpiece. 🛏️ Comfortable room: Clean and tidy, soft bedding, and excellent soundproofing, so you can sleep in until you naturally wake up. 👨‍🍳 Perfect service: The owner is warm and thoughtful, offering pick-up/drop-off, travel tips, and itinerary planning – just like family. 🐶 Plus, there's the adorable pet '77' always ready to cure any blues. Super high value for money, highly recommended, a must-stay in Lijiang!

Located just outside the north gate of Lijiang Old Town, the location is a big plus — you’re just a short walk into the ancient town, but without the noise and crowds. More importantly, since it’s not inside the old town, it’s very easy to take a cab directly to the doorstep (cars are not allowed within the ancient city), which makes arrival and luggage handling much more convenient. What stood out most was the hospitality. The boss, who is from Tianjin, is incredibly friendly and welcoming — the kind who chats with guests, offers tea, and makes you feel right at home. The courtyard is full of greenery and flowers, creating a calm, cosy space to relax after a day out. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and some areas even offer nice views over the old town.

Our stay at Shanshui Yunjian Inn in Dukezong Ancient Town was truly a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable and well taken care of right away. The inn itself has a beautiful environment, with a charming building structure that reflects the unique character of the ancient town. The design creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. One of the biggest highlights is its perfect location right within Dukezong Ancient Town. Everything is easily accessible—local attractions, shops, and food spots are all just a short walk away, making it very convenient for travelers. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, providing plenty of space for our family to relax. It was especially suitable for us as we were traveling with an infant, and the setup made everything feel easy and stress-free. Overall, Shanshui Yunjian Inn is definitely worth staying at, especially for families traveling with young children. It offers great comfort, a strategic location, and warm hospitality that truly enhances the travel experience.

It was a very pleasant stay! Research from beginning of 2025 until recently on jan 2026 we finally stayed in the inn. The staff very helpful and assisting us with our heavy bag until level 2&3. The location of this inn was strategic as the old town is within 15-20minute walking distance and as it was cold its kind of hard but better. The only time we book didi is only to go to erhai lake. Love the ambiance this inn provide. Just a heads up to others, this inn located next to a busy road, if your didi drop you at sidewalk better to do it fast as it will make other car behind wait. Overall, very satisfied and will probably book again if going to yunnan again

We stayed here based on a recommendation of a French couple we met during our trip. And we’re glad we did! The host is so friendly, he made us feel very welcome. We loved his tea ceremony! The room and location were great as well. His son was very helpful and friendly when we needed transport to the busstation.
