👍 Rooms
No strange odors, clean beds, and ample heating.
Separate rooms for men and women.
Only 6-bed and 8-bed dorms are available, offering both heating and air conditioning, water, bath towels, cotton swabs, shower caps, laundry detergent, etc.
Each person gets a bed, a luggage space, a locker for towels, a small compartment for miscellaneous items, a lockable slipper cabinet (yes, they provide free slippers!), and a hanger.
Shared bathrooms, three per floor, equipped with shower gel, shampoo, and hairdryers.
Separate toilets for men and women.
Two per floor, with toilet paper provided.
👍 Common Areas
The common areas feature:
A pool table and a ping-pong table, both free to use.
Pool tournaments on Wednesdays, ping-pong tournaments on Saturdays, with prizes.
A dining area and a place for takeout food.
Smelly food is not allowed upstairs.
There's an outdoor area where smoking is permitted.
A KTV system is available.
Occasionally, guest singers perform.
During my stay, someone played guitar and sang every night.
It was wonderful!
Laundry and drying machines are provided on the first floor.
Hangers are available on every floor for drying clothes, free to use.
👍 Cat
There's a friendly cat named Laifu at the hotel, happy to be petted by anyone.
👍 Front Desk
The front desk staff are very responsible.
They provide information about nearby attractions.
It's very close to Cuihu Lake, and Daguan River is right outside.
They remind guests not to disturb others at night.
After each check-in, they also send a private message and post in a group chat, reminding guests not to eat in the rooms or leave belongings scattered around.
As a result, the rooms are very clean and odor-free.
Common spaces are tidied daily, keeping them very neat.
👍 Guests
The guests staying here are also very well-behaved.
It's incredibly quiet after 11 PM.
🤔 However
1. There are four floors, and no elevator.
2. The hot water supply can be a bit inconsistent.
Overall, my experience was 5⭐️
Because the rooms are clean.
There's heating; I even slept in a tank top at 7°C (45°F) in the room and wasn't cold.
The rules are well enforced.
It's very quiet at night, allowing for peaceful sleep.
The guests are of high quality.

Hey, the room was amazing! Clean, bright, and even had a small balcony~ The smart toilet was a thoughtful touch! The housekeeper was super responsive, and breakfast was plentiful. The view outside the window was beautiful, I slept so well, and I'll definitely come again next time~ Umm, five-star review!

Very well located at walking distance from all major sightseeing sites in Shangri-la. New structure with comfy beds (6 female dorm), light, Chinese sockets and two USB ports for charging your devices, the room has A/C for hot air and the bed an electrical blanket, the curtains allow for good privacy
There are lockers with security code for storing your luggage
The bathroom is ample with good pressure hot water and a Western style toilet, good quality toiletries and toilet paper
The common areas (one downstairs and one upstairs) are large, luminous and well equipped with tables, chairs and sofas

I genuinely recommend this B&B! It was super easy to find, close to both the subway station and shopping areas, which made getting around incredibly convenient. The room facilities were all very new, with plenty of hot water and strong air conditioning, and the cleanliness details were also well-maintained. Both check-in and check-out were smooth, and the owner wasn't intrusive at all. The experience was excellent, and I've already shared it with friends planning to visit.
First, some praise:
① Compared to the quadruple rooms in other hostels I've stayed in, this one is more spacious and the hygiene is good.
② The location, tucked away in an alley off the main road, makes it quiet enough if there's no one being noisy.
In my opinion, the shortcomings are:
① The room truly has nothing in it – no disposable toiletries whatsoever. While it does make it look tidy, it's quite bare.
② The hot water flow in the private bathroom is a bit weak, lacking any real pressure.
③ The room door isn't soundproof, and the floor creaks loudly when walked on.
Facilities: The sheets and duvet covers were given to me upon check-in, and they did look a bit old.

The hostel is within five minutes walk to Kunming Railway Station (although I had problems getting to the hostel from the subway. The exit advised by Trip is incorrect). It’s on the 28th floor of Building 1. The hostel is clean albeit a bit untidy (e.g. toothpaste tubes in the bathroom). The friendly host suggested for me to stay at Building 8 if I wanted quiet but I was fine with where I was. Disposable towels are provided at 1 yuan

The hostel is located in the company dormitory, which is very safe. You can easily reach all the attractions by scooter. The roads to the nearby botanical garden are perfect for a leisurely electric scooter ride. The hostel is clean and the rooms are well-ventilated. Perhaps because it's the off-season, there weren't many guests, making it a really great deal for the price.
Sister Cai Cai was incredibly warm, attentive, and thoughtful. Although we didn't interact much, her meticulous attention to detail was evident. I was extremely satisfied with her recommendations for food, entertainment, and other experiences—a full five stars for that alone. The lobby had a great atmosphere, and it was clear many people had been staying for several days. There's a large courtyard where you can enjoy the view and relax. The bedding was clean and comfortable; the mattress was almost as thick as a hotel mattress, and the bed was sturdy. The bedside lights were shaded by wooden boards, eliminating the glare from direct sunlight (I've stayed in many hostels, and Cai Cai was the first to show such attention to detail). The surrounding environment was quiet, and I slept very well. There was crowing in the morning, intermittently from around 5 am to 6 am. I suggest more clear reminders about the room check-in rules. One guest was playing music on their phone, so a quiet environment should be maintained in the room, both day and night.
By the way, my room was opposite the clothes drying area, and the room light was a bit dim, as shown in the picture.
In short, I highly recommend this place!

It's a hostel with a very homely environment. The manager will invite you to drink tea with him, the courtyard is a very chill area to hang out in and even spend all day to the sound of flowing water and surrounded by plants. There is a kitchen available too, and the manager brings water from the well daily for the use of the guests. The dorm was comfortable and the lower beds have curtains but the upper ones don't.
The manager sometimes organises events for the guests, such as the time when we went picking mushrooms and visited a local market from where we bought more mushrooms which were cooked for dinner, all at a very good price.
The location is excellent, just 1 minute walking to the south gate of the ancient city.
I will not hesitate to stay here again when I come back to Jianshui.

I only stayed one night and then left. During the off-season, for just an extra 20-30 RMB, I could have stayed in a guesthouse with air conditioning and a private room. I've stayed in Hangzhou and Chengdu in 2023 and 2024, and had a great impression. However, this Lijiang branch, perhaps due to too many guests or cleaning staff being overwhelmed, had rather poor hygiene.
1. There were dried-up contact lenses left by the previous guest on the bedside table.
2. Before going to bed, there was a large bug on the bedsheet… it really scared me.
3. The bathroom was a bit dirty, especially the door which looked encrusted, like a public toilet… the water stains in the sink from brushing teeth and washing up hadn't been cleaned in time and looked very dirty.
4. Some of the bedside power outlets weren't working (both the two and three-prong outlets had no power, fortunately, the front desk later moved me to another room). They should really check these.
The young staff provided very good service, but the cleaning aunties definitely need to be given stricter instructions.

GGuest UserLocation was great that it was a walk away from the Kunming Railway Station where I needed to be to leave the city. I liked how it was near a lot of food places! The volunteer Evens was an interesting person to talk to when I learned about his background in what he does as an occupation and where he is originally from in China. The owner Winni was a nice person as well and I appreciated and enjoy her and some of the other guests that cooked for us the night that we had a big dinner. Thank you for being part of the chef crew Winni. Everybody who stayed at the place was respectful and considered towards one another in the way that they conducted themselves. Was able to go along with the rules of this hostel because it fit my daily habits. Nobody had any habits that bothered me.
Not really into the hostel type of stays, due to lack of privacy. Was just happy to stay at this place since it was pretty much right at the doorstep of the Kunming Railway station where I can catch my train on time where I wouldn't end up getting lost in the city which in turn would end up missing it.
The only negative thing that I didn't like was that the bathroom did not have bath towels and just regular hand towels where I would not be able to dry myself very well after showering. Because of this I didn't want to take a shower at this place and the fact that these towels were used repeatedly from other guests, which made me feel uncomfortable wanting to use it. Would come back to this Hostel again if I happen to have to come back to Kunming again where I needed to be near this train station to catch at train there.

KK VThis hostel is located about 10 to 15 minutes walk from Dali Ancient City, but still offers convenient access to amenities. The surrounding area has plenty of local restaurants, bike rental shops and a nearby market. With a police station next door, safety is not a concern.
I stayed in a dormitory room with an ensuite bathroom. The hostel staff and cleaners generally maintain the space well. However, cleanliness can quickly compromised due to inconsiderate guests. That said, I observed that the team consistently cleaned the facilities at regular intervals, so the issue wasn’t due to a lack of effort from the management.
One highlight is the rooftop washing machine with complimentary detergent, which is such an excellent convenience for travelers.
The front desk staff were helpful and approachable. They offered practical travel advice, such as recommendations for electric bike rentals and guidance on typical market prices. I found this especially useful for planning my days around Dali.
The beds are comfortable and each comes with an individual locker and curtain, which gives me the personal space and security.
The hostel also encourages a warm communal atmosphere. I appreciated the small gatherings in the lobby, such as casual singing sessions. There is also a WeChat group for guests to join occasional outings.
Overall, I had a pleasant and enjoyable stay. It’s a solid choice for travelers looking for a clean, friendly and sociable hostel experience in Dali.

GGuest UserListening to the eaves whisper of rain, murmuring with the mountains. The name itself is quite poetic, which was my first impression of this hostel. The first positive aspect of my stay was that the owner contacted me online and created a group chat before I even checked in, which made me feel very cared for. Secondly, upon arrival, the owner immediately offered to carry my luggage so I didn't have to lift a finger, demonstrating strong service awareness. Thirdly, the common areas were kept incredibly clean, which immediately put me at ease! Even better, that afternoon the owner took us to a local Bulang family's home to watch the sunset. Their warm hospitality gave us our first taste of Jingmai Mountain's hospitality. Afterwards, they guided us to the opening ceremony bonfire party, allowing us to experience the local culture. The owner's wife is super nice and loves chatting with everyone; we quickly became friends, drinking and chatting together – isn't that the essence of travel? I even got a recommendation for the No. 2 Middle School chicken feet, haha! The owners are a couple with a lot of passion and ideas. During our conversation, I learned that they came to Jingmai Mountain and found the place so comfortable that they decided to stay and open a hostel. So I don't have a business mindset. I treat everyone who comes as a friend and enjoy entertaining them with tea and drinks. If you also enjoy traveling and making friends, you are welcome to come to Jingmai Mountain, Mangjing, or Yannan. Let's sit down, drink tea, and chat together.
KKAYOKOvery friendly and kind staffs with cutie dogs!
the location is near to Kunming railway station and convenient place.
the twin room is clean and comfortable bed.
the shower room is typical Chinese style that might be a little bit difficult to take a shower.
the best recommend point is the staff’s hospitality and friendly atmosphere with cutie dogs paradise.
we relaxed and could refresh as they always welcomed.
i would have joined their team time chatting if i had a enough time.
thank you for all and best my regard!
GGuest UserFantastic! The setting is beautiful, and the owner is incredibly welcoming. It's conveniently located, yet the surroundings are very peaceful. The courtyard is a highlight, featuring lotus flowers, goldfish, and even peach trees. They also offer a ping-pong table and a yoga room, making for a truly well-equipped experience.
GGuest UserA nice and well located place. The host provided me with many recommendations for places to see and where to eat.
To enter the building I did have to call the host, so if you don't have a Chinese number you might need to ask someone to call him for you.
