Shanshui Yunjian Inn

My friends and I stayed at Shanshui Yunjian Inn both as a stop on our way to hike to Yubeng and on our way back from hiking. We loved our time in Shangri La and this Inn and the family who run it was a big part of that. Part of the challenge of booking on Trip is the use of AI to transform images of properties that doesn’t reflect what you actually arrive to. We did not get photos of rooms here but we were very happy with the modern clean rooms and felt that the photos on Trip did actually reflect what you arrived to! The bathroom has hot water and heating and all rooms have humidifiers. On our way back we stayed in the starry double bed room and also had a skylight which was beautiful. The Inn is located in the old town but has car access so you can arrive directly from the train station. It is right off a main road leading into the walking only portion of the old town. There are plenty of good restaurants right outside the door and only a 5 minute walk right into the center of the old town and the monastery. The family offers free pick up and drop off services from the train station to those staying for multiple nights. They also have electric motorbikes which you can rent with a valid drivers license for 50 yuan a day. In the lobby they have a small library and free hot tea. You can also use their collection of ******* wool shawls for free while staying. The best part of the entire experience is the beautiful family that run this Inn. Together they all run the Inn as a family business. Their son helps to man front desk when needed. Their daughter is always playing in the lobby or out the front with Grandma. And they are always around for help when you need it. When we needed to arrange transport to Feilai Temple, Mr. Zhang offered to drive us in their modern car all the way there for 4 hours for only 900 yuan. We then messaged him on our way down from Yubeng and he also drove all the way out to pick us up and take us back to Shangri La. This was the highlight of our stay in Yunnan and will be a core part of the memories we made on this trip. We highly recommend this property for its modern rooms, comfort, cleanliness, location, services, amenities, and for a genuine experience of Shangri La run by a beautiful family.

Hotel is clean with strong water heater. Fresh tea is served and hotel transfers are provided. The lady also runs a skewer place just outside the hotel.
