Casa da balconada Sweet little place practically next door to the cathedral. Just six rooms on three floors. Cristina, the owner and amazing one-woman operator of this fairly-recently renovated mini hotel, manages to keep things running smoothly. The rehab of this ancient edifice was done with style and panache while attaining the most efficient usage of square inches/centimeters seen on land. If you want to be near all of the tourist action of the casco viejo, you can’t find a better location. Each floor of Casa da Balconada has two rooms. We spent the first two of our four nights in the front room facing the street. It was a Friday and Saturday and things got boisterous at times out on the street. We moved to the back twin-bedded room facing an internal patio, and it was perfectly quiet. The beds are comfortable, the heating and the Wi-Fi worked well. And Cristina was a charming attentive hostess. If you are not young and fit the steep narrow stairs to the three floors could be a challenge. We are not young, but we are fit, and the stairs were not a problem for us. Highly recommend Cristina’s Casa da Balconada.

You could hardly be closer to the cathedral square than this old world (modernised), homely Inn that was perfect for our needs. Yes, the rooms are compact and nightlife noise can filter thru, but none of that took from our stay, especially as Cristina was the perfect hostess. Breakfast is not on the menu, but no worries as there are a myriad of eateries close by. Also, even though this Casa/Inn is on a small street, Cristina kindly arranged for a taxi to literally collect us at the front door enroute to the airport…true 5 star service, muchas gracias por todo, Cristina!

This was the perfect end of my Camino. Cristina looks after her guests in a very kind manner, lovely posada, clean and location is perfect for a visit to Santiago de Compostela. Gracias Cristina hasta la proxima!

5 stars for the location and the friendliness of the staff. 4 stars for the room (well appointed but quite small) and the bathroom (very small; shower will spray water everywhere). 2 stars for the noise - we had asked for a quiet room and were given one facing onto the street, which had drunks walking outside between 1am and 5am. Loudly enough to wake us up several times - and we had friends staying in the room below who were also unable to sleep too. We stayed 2 nights and it happened both nights.....

The best thing about the place is the location. Very fair room in dimensions, and even more so bathroom. It offers what is necessary but with some details to improve, such as the discomfort of the pillows and the shower. Fair staff treatment.

El lugar es muy céntrico, prácticamente junto a la catedral. Cristina es muy amable, familiar y correcta. Habitación confortable y acogedora. La única mejora posible? Que ofrezcan desayuno. Muchas gracias por todo
